We finally get to see the brutal origin story that reveals the bloody conflict that saw Marcus Fenix and the rest of the Gears battling against the Locusts as Emergence Day occurs. Watch as we fight our way through numerous enemies, take on familiar and some new foes, and explore a bit of the world in Xbox’s Gears of War: E-Day.
Fourteen years before the original Gears of War, Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago are caught in the first hours of the Locust invasion. As creatures erupt from beneath the streets of Sera, the two soldiers must fight through a city thrown into panic and destruction. This origin story follows the beginning of their bond and the moment humanity realises the scale of the threat rising from below.
E-Day returns to the series’ heavy, cover-based shooting while giving players more ways to move, vault and flank through close-quarters battles. The campaign can be played solo or in two-player co-op, while multiplayer includes competitive Versus matches and Horde Siege, a larger-scale take on the series’ wave survival mode. New and familiar Locust, reworked weapons and a darker atmosphere bring the horror of humanity’s first encounter with the Horde into focus.
