The hotly anticipated prequel DLC Lies of P: “Overture” from Neowiz and Round8 Studio is in the starting blocks. The expansion to the acclaimed Soulslike hit Lies of P takes players to the snowy, nightmarish ‘Krat Zoo’, which is not only atmospherically impressive but also boasts strong level architecture.

In addition to the new setting, “Overture” brings with it numerous action-gameplay improvements. For the first time, players can choose the difficulty level: In addition to the previous standard mode, there is now an easier as well as a harder variant – a decision that should appeal to both newcomers and hardcore fans. Two brand new modes provide even more replay value: Death March is a boss rush mode in which previous bosses can be challenged again under conditions of your own choosing, while Battle Memories offers the chance to replay boss battles on different difficulty levels. Game Rant also emphasises the wide variety of enemies and the arsenal of weapons, which opens up new strategies for players – a point that should provide a breath of fresh air, especially in New Game Plus mode.
A sequel to Lies of P is already in development, but with “Overture”, fans are already getting an extensive and atmospherically strong interim chapter. A concrete release date has yet to be set, but one thing is clear: the anticipation is justified.
