Refuel Your Spitfires: New Demo for PC Game Ground of Aces Out Now

Swiss-Polish indie game developer Blindflug Studios released a brand-new demo for their base building game set on World War II military air bases

Zürich, Switzerland, March 12, 2025 – Swiss-Polish developer Blindflug Studios has released a brand-new demo for their project Ground of Aces, a strategy base building game set during the Second World War. The game is being developed for PC, with a planned release later this year.

In Ground of Aces, players take command of a World War II airfield and its crew. In this demo, players get an early preview of the game in which they can build their first Royal Air Force military airfield.

Blindflug Studios co-founder and executive producer Moritz Zumbühl on what players can expect from the demo: “The demo is a first glimpse into the world of Ground of Aces. Starting with a small British airfield, players will get to experience the thrill of building and commanding a wartime air base, taking care of iconic World War II aircraft, and making tough strategic choices regarding missions from HQ. We can’t wait to hear the player feedback and continue shaping and expanding the game together with our community.”

Ground of Aces will offer players a unique view into World War II, highlighting the challenges faced by air bases and their crews, including historic events such as the Battle of Britain. It is inspired by free form base building games like Rimworld and Going Medieval, as well as historical strategy games like Hearts of Iron IV. The art style will pay homage to the “ligne claire” style of Franco-Belgian comics like Biggles and Buck Danny.
