Post Malone sits down for an exclusive Q&A in latest video
Frankfurt, DE – 20th November, 2024: Today, Crytek are thrilled to showcase an exclusive Q&A session featuring Diamond Certified artist and passionate gamer Post Malone. In the video, Post Malone sits down with Game Director Scott Lussier to discuss intense gameplay experiences, new traits and more as he teases his upcoming collaboration with the critically acclaimed game ‘Hunt: Showdown 1896’.
Known for his chart-topping music and growing reputation in the gaming community, Post Malone shares his genuine passion for ‘Hunt: Showdown 1896’, revealing how a casual recommendation from a close friend transformed into a serious gaming obsession.
“My buddy got me into it,” Post Malone said. “Whenever I’m on the road, and I can’t play, I’m always missing it. I’ve got probably about 400 hours on it.”
When discussing what it is about Hunt that attracted him to the game, Post continued: “I love how it’s based and grounded in reality. Very quick time to kill, you can body somebody in one shot. The guns are so sick. The skins are so sick. And I was like alright, I’m gonna give this a go. And then I used necro for the first time and I was like – this is the best game!”
In a truly original, first-of-its-kind partnership, Post Malone teases how players can join him for an all-new Hunt experience coming soon.
During the Q&A session, fans can take an intimate look into Post Malone’s gameplay style. The artist discusses his approach to the game’s high-stakes extraction shooter combat, shares personal strategies and memorable moments from his time in the Louisiana bayou and in the new Colorado map, Mammon’s Gulch.
Fans can get a first taste of what to expect with an excerpt from the Dime Store Novels (below), featuring in-game lore teasing details about what’s to come.

About Hunt: Showdown 1896
‘Hunt: Showdown 1896’ is the new era of the competitive first-person bounty hunting game, packing the thrill of survival and the reward of profit into a horror match-based format. Set in Colorado in 1896, the game boasts a mixture of PvP and PvE elements that create a uniquely tense experience. It’s not just the monsters who are a threat—it’s every Hunter on the map. In the classic Bounty Hunt game mode, a match pits 12 players—playing solo or in teams of two or three—against each other as they race to take out gruesome creatures for a Bounty they must collect and extract from the map. Hunt’s Soul Survivor mode offers a shorter match for solo players to scavenge for weapons as they compete for a diminishing pool of Bounty. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost you everything. ‘Hunt: Showdown 1896’ is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Series X|S.
*The Ballad of Post Malone
They say he came out of the Georgia hills, way up north near the Tennessee state line. Walked out of them woods with a guitar on his back and a dream, back in those wilder days. He’d wander from town to town, singing songs with power in them, songs that called to the lonely and the desperate and the strange. Every town he went through, one or two or five of these misfits would just pick up and follow him when he left. He never asked, and he never offered. They just came, and put their faith in him. Pretty soon what had been one man with song on his lips turned into a traveling carnival, a circus where folks slotted themselves into roles they discovered they had all been born to play. They got big enough so that real circus acts heard tell of them and joined up too. Made things respectable, at least on the outside. The circus followed the roads, going wherever he wanted. It got a bit of a rep, too. A little dirty, a little dangerous, and while he’d always come out to sing and make the ladies swoon, in the back alleys behind the tents there’d be darker stuff going on.
