A new sci-fi game has been revealed by the name of EXODUS with Archetype Entertainment handling development and Wizards of the Coast at the helm of publishing. The development team is made up of former BioWare developers and the game itself is meant to be an action adventure RPG set in an entirely new sci-fi world. No release window was revealed at the time of announcement but the game was confirmed for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC.
EXODUS is described as being a game focusing around “Time Dilation” where player choices will have real consequences as the actions they take may drastically change how events play out with their loved ones and even their entire civilization as time passes. In EXODUS, humanity has fled a dying Earth, finding a new home in a hostile galaxy where humanity are the underdogs for survival. As The Traveler, you are humanity’s last hope. Your job is to steal alien weapons and technology from the most powerful beings in the universe, the Celestials, humanity’s greatest enemy.
However, thanks to Time Dilation any time the player leaves on a mission, decades will pass following their actions. Sacrifices made to protect your loved ones create unpredictable consequences that change your world—reshaping the future. Returning home, you confront the consequences of your choices. In EXODUS, the outcome of those choices manifests at a massive level, compounding over generations.
