Ubisoft has partnered with the University of Cambridge Psychometrics Centre and VICE to create an interactive experience called the Predictive World. Inspired by the world of Watch Dogs 2, Predictive World shows how much can be learned about a person based on their digital footprint. People can see how seemingly meaningless statistics like age and gender can have real impacts on things like salary. Predictive World was build on algorithms developed by the University of Cambridge’s Psychometrics Centre with data from 6 million research participants. To go further into the world of big data, Ubisoft sponsored VICE to create a documentary about about big data and its dangers.
Watch Dogs 2 is set in San Francisco where data is funnelled through one company. After being wrongly profiled as a potential criminal, Marcus Holloway decides to follow in the foot steps of Aiden Pearce and take down the data collection program that runs San Francisco. Watch Dogs 2 will release on November 15th on consoles. The PC release will launch on November 29th.
