American indie developers Psyonix announced that their massively popular sports game Rocket League will be getting a brand new mode this September. Rumble mode will introduce randomized power ups to the game. The following power ups will be available:

    • The Boot (Kick’s an opponent’s car)
    • Disruptor (Forces the opponent to drive uncontrollably)
    • Freezer (Freezes the ball in-place)
    • Grappling Hook (Pulls you towards the ball)
    • Haymaker (Punches the ball)
    • Magnetizer (Attracts the ball to your car)
    • Plunger (Grabs the ball via plunger and cord)
    • Power Hitter (Hit everything harder)
    • Spike (Attach the ball to your car when you bump into it)
    • Swapper (Change positions on the field with your opponent)
    • Tornado (Sweep up the ball and cars into a giant funnel cloud)

Based on the trailer and the list of power ups, the new mode promises some very fast and frantic gameplay that will add a whole new dimension to the game. Rumble mode will be available in the online playlists, private matches, and exhibition matches. Psyonix is planning a major update in September and Rumble mode is only a part of that update.
