Below you will find a video of the alleged hacker showing off his supposed ‘Victory’ over major nelson. The video is NSFW.
A group of hackers that call themselves Fear have hacked into Larry Hyrb’s, also known as Major Nelson, Xbox Live account yesterday night (PST). Some Twitter snippets from the Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE Stephen Toulouse via twitter:
- Thanks for the heads up folks. we have gotten Major’s account back. We’ll investigate what happened.
- Looks like this was very specific and very targeted to Major. I’ll look into the details and report back later.
- But for now everything’s back to normal.

Don’t worry, this was an extremely focused attack at a very famous person. The hacker just wanted some quick fame before getting into trouble.
The odds of you getting hacked (unless you are famous) are extremely slim. But remember, the internet is a very unsafe place so follow internet safety rules at all times, Xbox Live is no different.

Good thing i saw this. Or whatever, they just advertised their site and said their nicknames and showed some of Major Nelson’s account. Pretty stupid of the imo, but hey, what u expect. Ain’t got no life, let’s make others miserable too! But what made me laugh is that Major Nelson had only 70 MS Points on his account :))

I’ve seen the video too, it was funny but really shows how unsafe things are.

regarding the 70pts, I’m sure Major Nelson gets redeem codes for almost everything that comes out, so he doesn’t really need points.

Wow, I wish that MS support was that fast with everyone, but I guess it makes MS look bad if one of their own were to get hacked.
Kind of makes me worry. I mean, with all the hacking going on on XBL at the moment it makes me wonder if somebody you know could get hacked or yourself. Would seriously suck, I just hope I would be able to get it back quickly.
My friends account got hacked once and the person used his credit card to buy 10,000 microsoft points. It was pretty cool though because he got to keep the microsoft points free of charge.
