Halo Warthog spotted at Cockatoo Island Sydney Australia !!!

This weekend, Microsoft, in conjunction with Bungee Studios, will be hosting a Halo-themed event at Cockatoo Island in preparation for the release of the hugely anticipated Halo 3: ODST. Attendees will be able to get ‘up-close-and-personal’ with the life-sized replica of the iconic Halo Warthog assault vehicle.

The full-sized replica of the vehicle will be on display all weekend, complete with a two storey crash-landing set designed by special effects company Weta Workshop. Weta is perhaps most famous for producing the sets, costumes, armour, weapons and creatures for Peter Jackson’sThe Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The event will be open from 10am-5pm on Saturday, 8 August and Sunday, 9 August. Services to Cockatoo Island depart regularly on both the Balmain/Woolwich service and the Parramatta River service. You can find out more about departure times here: www.sydneyferries.info.

The Xbox Warhog

Developed by the multi-Oscar winning Weta Workshop of New Zealand for use in the Halo movie shorts, the Xbox Warthog is a one of a kind replica from one of the biggest entertainment franchises ever launched – the Halo series.

Weighing over 3 tonnes, this cuddly beast features prominently in each of the Halo titles, carrying our heroe Masterchief into the front lines to battle the evil Covenant.

Make sure you make your way over to Cockatoo Island this weekend to see this fine machine
