Viz renews partnership with Simon & Schuster UK to expand to India

Naruto-volume-64-CoverIn business news today, Viz Media has announced that they have renewed their partnership with Simon & Schuster UK, which is one of the UK’s leading publishers. This partnership is a renewal of their existing sales and distribution partnership.

While this is some great news in its own right, it is worth noting that this agreement also means that botch companies will be expanding their distributions to India, where Simon & Schuster India will offer English manga to perhaps the fasted growing market in the entire world. This will include titles such as Naruto and the recently released Nisekoi, and all of Viz’s various imprints, including Shonen Jump, Shonen Jump Advanced, Shojo Beat, Shonen Sunday, Perfect Square, VIZ Signature, Studio Ghibli Library, and Haikasoru.

Kevin Hamric, senior director of publishing sales & marketing at Viz Media, had this to say about the continuing partnership:

“VIZ Media has been looking to expand internationally for a number of years and Simon & Schuster UK and India are important strategic partners for us as we continue to cultivate & grow the substantial international English-language manga market. We look forward to bringing our most popular manga titles to awaiting fans!”
