Robin Hood Bullet-Time Shooter Sherwood Extreme Parkours into 1.0 Today

LOS ANGELES – April 29, 2024 – Sherwood Extreme, the arcade crossbow shooter with bullet bolt-time and ridiculous co-op action from a former Sony Santa Monica developer now leading CAGE Studios, front flips onto 1.0 on PC via Steam today!

Sherwood Extreme 1.0 introduces a brand new Level Editor mode. Dream up levels alone or in online co-op and craft the perfect action movie scenarios. Challenge friends and fellow community members with creative maps mixing high-octane acrobatic combat with the chaos of a chemistry set.

When Sherwood Forest becomes overrun by goblins, the kingdom cries for its protector. Don that stylish cape, restock the quiver, and leap into action as the legendary Robin Hood. Traverse the colorful and diverse wilds of Sherwood including resplendent waterways, craggy castles, and breathtaking volcanoes. Set the stage for acrobatic accomplishments as the master archer swings into action.

Chain combos with slow-mo sniping, uncover silly secrets, and send goblins flying in every direction with a well-placed shot to a conveniently placed explosive barrel. Purge scores of the undead and try to survive as long as possible in Horde Mode. Collect power-ups to wreak havoc, save feathery friends, and cash in on loot to unlock more weapons, skills, costumes, and the game-changing Chicken Jetpack.

Save the day and climb the leaderboards with co-op shenanigans. Grapple onto a friend’s shoulders to become their backpack turret, firing bolts as a two-person tower of crossbow carnage. Settle personal conflicts in custom maps, crafting challenging courses while fellow archers play and offer live feedback on the design process.

“Not enough games empower players to be both skillful and silly,” said Salaar Kohari, game director and co-founder of CAGE Studios. “With Sherwood Extreme’s 1.0launch, we hope that our community has the tools they need to show off their creativity, challenge fellow archers, and have a slapstick blast while doing it.”

Sherwood Extreme 1.0 is out now on PC via Steam for $19.99 with a 15% launch discount, with support for English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian languages.

KAIZEN GAME WORKS ANNOUNCE “PROMISE MASCOT AGENCY” COMING IN 2025

The developers of indie hit “Paradise Killer” return with the world’s first Open World Mascot Manager Crime Drama, developed in collaboration with renowned Japanese developer Ikumi Nakamura.

LONDON, United Kingdom, 29 April 2024 – Award winning independent game studio Kaizen Game Works are proud to announce their second game: the world’s first (and best) open world mascot management crime drama, Promise Mascot Agency.

Michi, a disgraced yakuza lieutenant, is exiled to a cursed town to turn a bankrupt mascot agency into a profitable enterprise. As he struggles in his new life, can he manage to create a successful business and unravel the conspiracy behind his exile? He’s helped by Assistant Manager Pinky, who happens to be a mascot herself.

Players will explore their new home of Kaso-Machi in Michi’s run-down (but upgradable!) truck. There’s plenty to discover in this forgotten Japanese town – new friends to make, collectibles to find (and destroy), other businesses to partner with and, most importantly, a variety of mascots to recruit.

As we all know, mascots are living creatures that have coexisted with mankind since the dawn of history. Mascots have their own hopes, dreams and desires and you’ll need to negotiate to recruit them. Some mascots want money, some want fame, some want a rice ball from the local convenience store and some want to see the entire world burn to ashes in purifying hellfire.

Once they’re on the books, mascots can be trained and sent out on a variety of jobs to make money, gain experience and spread the name of the Promise Mascot Agency far and wide! Of course, jobs don’t always go to plan – whether it’s a narrow doorway, kitchens catching on fire or dreadful nightmare spirits, danger lurks around every corner. It’s up to the player to assist their imperilled employee using Hero Cards, cards representing a variety of characters Michi will meet during his days in Kaso-Machi. With tactical card usage, a mascot can overcome any challenge and win hearts, minds and a healthy paycheque.

Additionally, Kaizen Game Works are thrilled to have collaborated with well-known Japanese developer Ikumi Nakamura (The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo) and concept artist Mai Mattori on concept and art direction for Promise Mascot Agency. The pair helped Kaizen design and develop the world and characters, working together to create a unique Yakuza family, a repurposed love hotel and a cast of memorable, occasionally-horrific mascots!

To bring the concept art to life, Kaizen Game Works worked with Inko Ai Takita, a Japanese manga artist based in the UK who illustrated Promise Mascot Agency‘s band of freaks and weirdos in her signature manga style. We can’t wait for you to meet them all.

Promise Mascot Agency features a soundtrack from two composers. Firstly, Irish musician Alpha Chrome Yayo (real name Peter McCaughan) has been self-releasing a vast catalogue of diverse, genre-twisting albums since 2018 and is bringing his unique musical mind to the streets of Kaso-Machi. Additionally, the game will feature music from Japanese industry veteran Ryo Koike (Resident Evil 4 (2023), Ninja Gaiden II).

“Promise Mascot Agency rules. Working with Ikumi, Mai, Kowloon and all of our new friends has been amazing. Please be excited to buy play it. #kaizenyachtquest”Oli Clarke Smith, Game Director

“We’ve poured our heart and soul into this game. We are so excited for you to visit Kaso-Machi and its inhabitants, we hope you enjoy getting to know Michi, Pinky, and the rest of our latest band of weirdos and freaks. Please enjoy.”Rachel Noy, Art Director

“Promise Mascot Agency is filled with amazing characters, and we hope you’ll enjoy getting to know them as much as we enjoyed bringing them to life. We’re so excited to let everyone explore Kaso-Machi in Michi’s kei truck.”Phil Crabtree, Technical Director

“Man, I’m finally going to be famous and be on talk shows and get into scandals and take on ill-advised endorsement deals! Anyway, can’t sit around yapping when we’ve got a business to run, a criminal conspiracy to uncover and a corrupt old mayor to bury in the woods!”Pinky, Assistant Manager of the Promise Mascot Agency

Can Michi create the most successful mascot agency in Japan and discover the secrets behind his own exile in the process? Will Pinky ever solve her terrifying anger issues? Did that truck just grow wings? Find out all this and more when Promise Mascot Agency comes to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows in 2025. For more information, please visit https://www.kaizengameworks.com/

Promise Mascot Agency was developed with financial assistance from Kowloon Nights and the UK Global Screen Fund, financed by the UK Government’s department for Culture, Media and Sport and administered by the BFI. Kaizen Game Works is extremely grateful to both.

DON’T NOD Unveils Latest Trailer for its New IP, Lost Records

Revealing Bloom & Rage as a two-part story, featuring Swann as the playable character

PARIS April 29, 2024DON’T NOD is pleased to release a brand-new trailer for DON’T NOD Montréal’s first game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, at today’s IGN x ID@Xbox Digital Showcase. Bloom & Rage is the first installment of the Lost Records IP from the creative minds behind Life is Strange. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage was announced at the 2023 Game Awards and is scheduled to be released in late 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure game set in the fictional town of Velvet Cove in the summer of 1995. Four high school friends – Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat – spend the summer together hanging out, playing music, and becoming best friends… until something changes the trajectory of all of their lives. After 27 years of silence between them, they reunite to confront the dark secrets that made them promise to never speak again.

Main Playable Character Reveal: Introducing Swann

In this new trailer, discover Velvet Cove through the lens of a camcorder belonging to the game’s main protagonist, Swann, who is gearing up for her last summer in the fictional Michigan town. In the trailer we get a glimpse into Swann’s personality: her introverted nature and her love of capturing slices of reality on her camcorder. We also see some in-game areas that players will explore and characters they will get to meet when the game releases late 2024.

A Story of Friendship and Secrets, Coming in Two Parts

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will be released in two distinct parts, a month apart. A natural break in the story means that players will be able to start discussions, share theories, and eagerly anticipate the next part in the story.

Get to Know an Unforgettable Group of Friends

At the start of the summer, Swann gets to know a group of friends – Nora, Autumn, and Kat. She spends the summer forming close bonds with each of them: Nora, rebellious, eccentric and full of energy; Autumn, the thoughtful and charismatic group leader; and Kat: pragmatic, strong-willed and enigmatic. Four very different personalities and perspectives come together on that fateful summer of ‘95 to uncover secrets that will bind – and break – the group.

Will the girls balance each other out, or clash in weird and wonderful ways?

An Original Soundtrack

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage will have a soundtrack made up of original tracks composed for the game and licensed music to tell the story of Swann and friends. As with the song featured in the announcement trailer at The Game Awards 2023 by Nora Kelly, the song featured in the Lo-fi Summer trailer is another original track composed for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The music is written and performed by Ruth Radelet, Adam Miller and Nat Walker.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is scheduled for release in late 2024 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Ancient Entities Invade In Free EVERSPACE 2 Incursions And Unreal Engine 5 Update

New massive space battles and legendary items come to EVERSPACE 2 alongside an engine migration to Unreal Engine 5 and a flotilla of tweaks and bug fixes in today’s free update.

Hamburg, Germany – April 29, 2024 — ROCKFISH Games is bringing another massive free update to their open world spaceship looter shooter action RPG, EVERSPACE 2. Incursions releases today on PC and PlayStation worldwide with Xbox to follow shortly, bringing an exciting list of new gameplay features, in-game items, and improvements to space fans.

The update comes soon after a massive win for EVERSPACE 2 at the 2024 Deutsche Computerspielpreis where ROCKFISH Games took home Best German Game, the top award for video games developed in Germany.

Watch the Incursions Update Video below:

The Incursions update broadens the depth of EVERSPACE 2’s world and lore, adding massive space battles to the later portion of the story campaign. Actions taken by Adam Roslin and his crew have weakened the integrity of the universe and allowed Ancients to break into reality from rift space. In new Incursions activities, it’s up to skilled space pilots to fend off hordes of enemies while destroying beacons allowing enemies to cross over from another dimension.

Legendaries, new front, rear, and cockpit modules, and new reliquary treasure items that can be unlocked in the retooled Ancient Rift mode. Additional features such as a revamped photo mode, reworked Scout “Shadow Strike” ultimate ability, increased legendary item limit per loadout, and many community-requested changes have also been added. On Xbox and PlayStation consoles, controller button remapping has also been added in response to community request. The Incursions update also brings EVERSPACE 2 from Unreal Engine 4 to 5.3. This engine migration allows the ROCKFISH Games team to continue development using the latest tools while enabling toggleable features such as Lumen GI on DirectX 12, Nvidia Reflex latency reduction, Intel XeSS upscaler, AMD FSR 3.0 upscaler and Nvidia Frame Generation for high-end PC players.

“Bringing EVERSPACE 2 to Unreal Engine 5.3 alongside all the new Incursions content was a monumental challenge that the team tackled in stride and the results are evident,” said ROCKFISH Games CEO and co-founder Michael Schade. “Though we were able to take advantage of the latest technologies such as Nvidia’s Frame Generation and Unreal’s Lumen in this update, our main goal with this engine migration was to future proof the game—we’ve got a lot more premium content coming that we’ll share about later this year. For now, new and returning pilots can enjoy all the legendaries and endgame content added with this update.”

ROCKFISH Games also launches a new EVERSPACE 2 Supporter Pack on Steam today, making an assortment of ship cosmetic options available for superfans. This $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.49 / ¥1520 pack includes new ship skins, decals, and lighting effects as well as a variety of engine effects for pilots looking to support the team.

EVERSPACE 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, GOG, and the Microsoft Store for $49.99 / €49.99 / £44.99 / ¥6930. The game is available as a Play Anywhere title on Xbox and PC Game Pass. EVERSPACE 2 is fully voiced in English and German and currently localized in thirteen languages including English, Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Spanish.

Every second friday, the ROCKFISH Games team shows off content from their latest EVERSPACE 2 dev build on the ROCKFISH Games Twitch and YouTube channel from 8 pm to 10 pm CET / 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm ET / 11:00 am to 1:00 pm PT. Viewers are encouraged to bring their questions about EVERSPACE games for the dev team.
