NEW STAR WARS OUTLAWS GAMEPLAY: SNEAKING INTO HUTT TERRITORY ON TATOOINE

At Ubisoft Forward, a new gameplay showcase video follows Kay Vess on a mission to Mos Eisley to track down an expert gunslinger.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – JUNE 11, 2024 – Today, during the Ubisoft Forward Conference, a new gameplay showcase for Star Wars Outlaws™ debuted. The gameplay video follows emerging scoundrel Kay Vess on a mission to Tatooine to find an expert gunslinger and convince them to help her upgrade her skills with a blaster. In addition, a game overview trailer for Star Wars Outlaws premiered, providing a look into Kay and Nix’s past, the high-risk jobs they can take on, and the distinct locations they can explore in the open-world Star Wars™ game.

In the new gameplay video, Game Director Mathias Karlson breaks down one of Star Wars Outlaws’ expert quests. “One of your motivations for exploration is to find elusive experts scattered across the galaxy who will help Kay pick up new skills to survive in the underworld,” Karlson explains. In the video, Kay gathers intel about a gunslinger on Tatooine. As she travels through space from the asteroid field in Akiva’s orbit on her ship, the Trailblazer, we see her come to the aid of a Pyke Syndicate freighter under attack by pirate starfighters; the Pykes are grateful for her assistance, and Kay’s reputation with the syndicate grows and may open up further opportunities with them in the future.

Once on Tatooine, Kay enters a planet where most of the economy is under the control of a different syndicate: the Hutt Cartel. She explores Mos Eisley, the legendary hive of scum and villainy, in search of the gunslinger. Karlson says creating Mos Eisley was a highlight for the development team: “Recreating this iconic city is a dream come true for our team, allowing us to show parts of Mos Eisley you’ve never seen before.”

Kay’s intel leads to a Hutt Cartel storehouse located in the southern hills; unfortunately, she has a poor reputation with the Hutts. They won’t simply let her through the front door – she’ll need to infiltrate the area without triggering the alarm or risk getting into a confrontation. Kay succeeds and finds information on the location of the gunslinger, but now she needs to make her escape, leading her into a shootout before fleeing the scene. At the end of the video, Kay finally meets with the expert gunslinger, Sherriff Quint.

The latest trailer for Star Wars Outlaws details what makes Kay an original scoundrel, the underworld setting, and the galaxy of opportunity that awaits. Kay takes on high-risk, high-reward jobs to earn favour with the galaxy’s most notorious crime syndicates, including the cutthroat Pyke Syndicate, the crafty and cunning Crimson Dawn, amongst others. More of the locations Kay will explore are shown in detail, including the jungle world of Akiva, the ancient city of Kijimi, and the savannah moon of Toshara. There are flashbacks to Kay’s past growing up in Canto Bight, a memory of meeting Nix for the first time, and scenes of Kay hustling and thieving to survive.

Star Wars Outlaws launches on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Ubisoft Connect on August 30, and can be played up to three days early* starting August 27 with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription or by preordering the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition. About Star Wars Outlaws

With development led by Massive Entertainment*, Star Wars Outlaws will invite players to experience the Star Wars galaxy like never before through an original story set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back™ and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™. As the Galactic Empire relentlessly pursues the final defeat of the Rebel Alliance, the criminal underworld thrives. Fans will play as cunning scoundrel, Kay Vess and her loyal companion Nix, as they attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. Seeking the means to start a new life, players will join Kay and Nix as they fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates and join the galaxy’s most wanted.

Kay and Nix can turn any situation to their advantage: use stealth and gadgets to gain the upper hand, use Nix to distract and draw away enemies, or engage in blaster combat in tense situations throughout their journey. In order to pull off the ultimate heist, Kay and Nix will search for and join forces with a cast of outlaws, including battle-hardened droid ND-5. While stealing valuable goods, infiltrating secret locations, and outwitting enemies, they will need to carefully consider how their choices affect their status with each syndicate, as each move will influence Kay’s ever-changing reputation.

*Development partners include Ubisoft Annecy, Bucharest, Chengdu, Milan, Montpellier, Paris, Redlynx, Shanghai, Stockholm, Toronto.

Gravity-Defying Horror Platformer ‘Love Eternal’ Revealed at IGN Live Showcase

Escape a desolate alternate mindscape in Ysbryd Games’ latest debut

LOS ANGELES – 9 June 2024 – Love Eternal, the unconventional horror platformer about escaping the domain of a selfish god from developer brlka and publisher Ysbryd Games (WORLD OF HORROR, VA-11 Hall-A), revealed a crumbling, monolithic realm in today’s IGN Live Showcase. Defy gods and gravity in Love Eternal on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5|4 in 2025.

Teenagers have plenty to deal with, but Maya has more to fuel her anger than her peers. Between alienation from her family, a recent squabble with her friend Lacey, and her recent abduction at the hands of an ancient god, Maya has a horrific journey ahead of her. Traverse the god’s terrarium, manipulate gravity through a puzzle-filled Castle, chase down and confront her captor, and escape this lonesome fate.

Bend gravity to Maya’s will, amplifying her agility to leap through the challenging chambers throughout The Castle’s labyrinth. Swiftly jump gaping chasms, deadly spikes, scalding lasers, and more with precise springs and flips in a precise platforming experience. Stay wary of the god’s watchful eye, lest reality shifts underfoot.

Navigate eerie and atmospheric Iron Age landscapes, from ruined castle structures to deep sea caverns to a dark reflection of Maya’s own home, listening to the unsettling tones echoing through the time-worn structures. Face uncanny encounters with Maya’s family, Lacey, and other wandering prisoners to uncover the god’s true motivations.

“As lifelong developers, we’ve always aimed to create experiences that challenge people’s fundamental assumptions about what a game can be,” said Toby Alden, designer at brlka. “Love Eternal is our first longform title, and we’re confident it’s going to surprise even experienced players in ways they could have never imagined!”

Love Eternal willleap onto PCs via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5|4 in 2025 with English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Spanish, and Russian language support.

War with the Ravagers has started in Crossout

Update brings new unique car parts, battle missions and other content

Gaijin Entertainment announces the release of the Ravagers Ascension update for the post-apocalyptic online action game Crossout. It introduces car parts from the Ravagers faction, a trilogy of brawls against the Ravagers, a battle for uranium ore, a new map “Brotherhood Stronghold” and other content.

The new season of the Battle Pass also called Ravagers Ascension includes 75 levels with rewards, including blueprints of new parts for armored vehicles, containers with resources, and cosmetic items. For example, you can get access to the ground drone “Fatum” with a combat laser or the “Morta” cannon – it releases a force field that flies in a straight path and absorbs damage from enemy projectiles, and then explodes.

The Ravager brawl trilogy is a series of PvP battles that initially put a small team of two “infected” players on pre-installed vehicles against a team of up to ten regular players. The goal of survivors is to reach the final point in the location, completing all tasks. The Ravager team has to prevent them from doing this and “infects” the players.

The hallmark of the “Brotherhood Stronghold” map is a great impenetrable wall that protects the survivors’ homes and the place where they are trying to build a future for themselves, hoping for the restoration of humanity. The Ravagers took survivors by surprise and destroyed a number of their equipment and buildings, but the humans blocked the entrance and managed to repel the attack for a while. The central part of the map is occupied by construction cranes and high-rise shelters, behind which armored aircraft can hide and support allies on the ground. More information about the contents of the update is available on the official Crossout website.
