SEOUL – July 12, 2024 – Nexon’s high-octane mobile racing game KartRider Rush+ is bringing SANRIO CHARACTERS’ most iconic characters to the racetrack with an all-new collaboration. Thrill-seekers can gear up for lightning-fast fun beginning now until Aug. 8 with all kinds of SANRIO CHARACTERS-themed items, including the Hello Kitty Kart, Cinnamoroll Daisy Racer, and Kuromi Purrowler.

As part of the event, racers can earn Red Bows for logging in and completing quest objectives such as finishing ranked mode races, which they can trade for prizes including K-Coins (x300), SANRIO CHARACTERS Balloon (x30) and more. Racers can also grab collab items by completing missions such as logging into the game on weekends or dominating Ranked Mode to earn shards that they can trade for rewards like the My Melody Outfit Set (Perm). To make the event even more sweet, KartRider Rush+ will feature a Hello Kitty 50-Year Anniversary Background, with the final reward celebrating Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary.

Additionally, if players race 10 times in the Marathon Knight or Marathon Knight – MAX, they’ll earn the Kuromi Marathon Skin Card. If they complete quests including logging in for five days and racing 10 times, they’ll earn the SANRIO CHARACTERS Frame (Perm) and the Hello Kitty Plate (Perm). The most dedicated racers who earn five permanent collab items will also earn the SANRIO CHARACTERS x KRR+ Title (Perm).

Nexon is also hosting a collaboration celebration video event on the official KartRider Rush+ Facebook page. Once the video reaches 1,000 views, players can earn the Hello Kitty Portrait coupon as a reward.

Players successfully completed the collaboration challenge and unlocked free Okami gifts in the game that will be downloadable at launch across all available platforms, including Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, the official Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess theme song, sung by popular Japanese singer and songwriter ermhoi, was released along with a new trailer on YouTube showcasing more of the game’s eccentric beauties.

The Okami and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess collaboration gifted players exclusive content, including the Amaterasu costume and weapon for Soh as well as the Waka costume for Yoshiro, plus a special Okami collab soundtrack for the game. Together, players were able to successfully complete the challenge of obtaining 1 billion crystals and finding 15 hidden Lucky Mallets in the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess free demo, which is still available across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Steam.

The game’s theme song, “Kunitsu-Gami,” composed by Chikara Aoshima and sung by ermhoi, pulls together the game’s themes of masks, defilement, spirits, and sins that reflect the world of Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. This official theme song is created with the feel of a children’s song based within the in-game universe, passed down from generation to generation. The meticulously crafted rhythmic patterns, tempo, sound, and arrangement grow rougher as the song progresses. Composer Chikara Aoshima also composed all of the music in Capcom’s 2019 hit Shinsekai: Into the Depths™.

Singer songwriter ermhoi said: “The story of ‘Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess’ is a tale of battling defilement, insecurity, and fear. I hope this song will be like a talisman for you in such a battle. Please enjoy the nostalgic melody by Chikara Aoshima.”

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE is based on ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS VIII with Power Up Kit, complete with both the “All Officers Play” and “All Periods Scenarios” features, as well as a host of new content to deliver the most complete Romance of the Three Kingdoms experience to date.

Among the new additions, the number of playable officers has been increased from approximately 600 to 1,000. With newly added officers and forces, players can discover new events and relationships between officers for an even more authentic experience. The “All Periods Scenarios” feature has also been updated to offer over 55 scenarios, including fictional ones, making it the largest number of scenarios available in the series history. From the end of the Eastern Han dynasty to the final age of the Three Kingdoms period, players can choose any officers and which period they’d like to play, creating numerous possible combinations for an experience unique to each player.

Through the evolved “All Officers Play” feature, players have the option to take control of the powerful rulers and the officers who serve them or be a free officer and join a vagrant army. This enables players to explore the Three Kingdoms with a fresh and unique experience every time through thanks to the incredible amount of new features and the variety of associations formed both on and off the battlefield highlighted by both “Symbiotic” and “Antagonistic” relationships.

“Symbiotic” relationships are established when the player interacts with other officers through situations like commands or events and a certain number of “sympathies” occur. When a player is in a “Symbiotic” relationship with another officer, the officer will join and help the player in many situations, including domestics, councils, and battles. On the other hand, if the relationship is “Antagonistic”, the officer will not accept visits from the player and may even hunt them on the battlefield.

Another unique strategy element to ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE is the addition of the powerful and unique “Traits”. Helping officers stand out, “Traits” is an ability possessed by some officers with exceptional achievements or memorable anecdotes in history. For example, Cao Cao is able to act twice in council and Liu Bei is able to meet with officers without fail.

The variety of relationships built up throughout the experience are now dramatically displayed through a number of new elements. Players will be able to check on the constantly changing dynamics of each relationship through the “Relationship Chart”. The “Relationship Chart” not only shows relationships like “Sworn Siblings” and “Spouses” but also depicts special relationships such as “Destined Partners”, “Rivals”, and “Sworn Enemies” as well as displaying the various “Symbiotic” and “Antagonistic” connections.  As relationships deepen with others, “Linked Forge” may even occur during battles and missions. These special links allow for a better performance beyond individual capabilities in various situations.

In addition, many events in the game, ranging from major historical incidents to anecdotes of officers can now be initiated by officers through “Tales”. This allows players to selectively participate in the events of their choosing. Concord’s Early Access Beta is almost here and the Firewalk team is so excited to finally be able to welcome players into the Concord galaxy. The team can’t wait to see who your favourite Freegunners are, or what combos and strats will cook up as players build their crew. 

Before we head into both our Early Access and Open Beta weekends, PlayStation AU wants to share some more important information with players like, when you can pre-download, when the servers go live, some goodies you can earn from participating, and more. 

We’re especially excited to announce that PlayStation Plus is also inviting all members to participate in the Beta Early Access weekend. Just look for the option to download and play the beta when you boot up your PS5!

With that being said, let’s dive in!

Concord Beta Early Access (July 13 – 15) and Open Beta (July 19 – 22)¹

The Concord Beta Early Access weekend on PS5 and PC will begin tomorrow, Saturday, 13 July, at 3am AEST. Players can pre-download the Concord Beta starting today! 

Pre-ordering any edition of Concord will grant you access to the Beta Early Access weekend, as well as four extra codes you can share with friends so you can squad up with your own crew and take on rival crews together. Your extra codes will be for the same platform you pre-ordered on. 

The Open Beta will begin next week, from Friday, 19 July, at 3am AEST, through Monday, July 22. You will also be able to pre-download on PS5 starting Thursday, 18 July at 3 AM AEST.

Get to know the Concord galaxy 

During the Early Access and Open Beta, all 16 of the launch Freegunners will be unlocked and available to play and customise. Whether you want to snipe from afar, lock down an area, provide support for your teammates, or… just dive head-first into the fight, the full roster of Freegunners has something for everyone. It’s been a minute since we’ve checked in with the Freegunners of the North Star, so the Firewalk team will also be sharing the first Vignette during the Early Access Beta and can’t wait for players to learn more about the crew and their tidy ship.

There will be three modes, Clash Point, Trophy Hunt and Cargo Run, available to play during the Beta Early Access weekend. It was important to Firewalk when developing Concord to make sure there were modes for everyone, so whether players are looking to queue up for a quick round of Trophy Hunt or want to prove you and your crew have the best strats to retrieve Blue Buddy in Cargo Run, there’s something for everyone. There will also be four maps players will get to explore and play on: Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard, and Shock Risk. 

Once players head into the Open Beta next weekend, a new mode will also be added, Area Control, and a new map, Bone Mines. Check out the original announcement of the beta to learn a little bit more about each of the maps and modes available during our Beta weekends.

Beta Rewards

If players plan on joining for both Early Access and Open Beta, their progress will carry over between the weekends. However, please keep in mind that the progress from either Beta will not carry over to our official launch on 24th August (AEST).

Life as a Freegunner is all about taking high-stakes jobs with your crew and reaping the rewards, so as a thank you, players will receive a few goodies for just participating: a Frog Weapon Charm (Frog, stands for “From Orbit to Ground”, and is the name of the Northstar’s drop ship, not a literal frog, everyone’s favourite amphibian), a Star Flare Icon and Business Card.
