Ahead of launch, players can play a brand-new demo, available today as part of Steam Next Fest. A Japanese psychological horror experience inspired by themes of isolation, trauma, and fractured memory, BrokenLore: DON’T LIE places players in the role of Junko, a hikikomori whose carefully controlled world begins to collapse as long-buried memories resurface.

Featuring Japanese voice acting throughout, BrokenLore: DON’T LIE combines exploration, investigation, psychological tension, and shifting realities as players uncover the truth hidden within Junko’s memories. • A deeply personal story exploring trauma, loneliness, and emotional isolation
  • Distorted environments shaped by memory, fear, and perception

This beta brings several major additions to the hunt: the newly playable Withered Knight class, the new Hallowgrave map, and the first public look at the Mist Lord boss, Sálmar, the Cursed Moonwane. These are live and playable now, ahead of the game’s full launch on July 29, 2026.

Multi-Platform Open Beta Details

The Mistfall Hunter Open Beta is open to all players and lasts until 3AM PT on June 22nd. The Mistfall Hunter Open Beta represents the title’s first hands-on console availability, expanding testing to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside PC. The open beta supports full cross-play functionality for players on the same server, allowing players to experience the game’s high-stakes extraction mechanics either solo or in three-player cooperative squads ahead of launch.

The Withered Knight, Now Playable

Originally elite protectors of the Kingdom of Gaenaria, the Withered Knights are exiled warriors wielding two-handed greatswords. Designed for mid-range spacing and calculated counter-offensives, the class introduces a unique sigil-and-detonation combat loop.

Core kit:

  • Withering Sigils + Reckoning: Affixes marks to targets mid-combat, allowing players to detonate them for burst AOE damage and battlefield control.
  • Parry:  A high-risk, timing-dependent defensive mechanic that neutralizes incoming attacks and creates immediate counter-offensive windows.
  • Thorn Guide:  A tactical grappling ability that pulls high-priority targets out of enemy formations, exposing them to team focus.
  • Withering Talent: A flexible progression tier allowing players to specialize either in sustained crowd control or high-impact frontline disruption.

New Boss Encounter: Sálmar, the Cursed Moonwane

Players can now challenge Mistfall Hunter’s latest high-tier boss, Sálmar, the Cursed Moonwane. Positioned as one of the environment’s most demanding end-game encounters, the battle requires strict coordination to overcome.

Watch the Trailer Here:

The Hallowgrave Map

The update introduces Hallowgrave, a highly vertical map set within a bleached, desolated forest. This new zone features distinct sub-regions that alter tactical engagements:

  • The Divine Anchor: A central point of interest featuring high enemy density drawn to a powerful relic.
  • Hastine’s Fall: A coastal highland zone featuring open sightlines and varied terrain elevation, where a giant’s corpse still radiates with divine strength.
  • Witchery Woods: A dense, close-quarters forested area that limits visibility and emphasizes stealth and close-range skirmishes, where Gyldhunters must survive its ghostly secrets to confront the devastating power of a false god.

The Gylden Rush Event

Exclusively available during the Open Beta, the Gylden Rush calls upon hunters to secure the rare “Golden Cipher.” These coveted items can be found within the remains of fallen foes or hidden deep in chests scattered across the realm. Cracking a cipher provides a shot at prestigious spoils, from specialized Gyldhunter Badges to Deluxe and Standard Edition Steam Keys. Lucky hunters may even unlock the Golden Woodling headpiece, the “Strike It Rich” emote, and other rare treasures to bolster their arsenal.

Miniature Painter Simulator Brings the Real-World Hobby to Steam Next Fest

Paint, customize, import models, and run an online miniature painting shop in a new Steam Next Fest demo

Bradford, England (June 15, 2026) | Today, developer Swain Games announced that Miniature Painter Simulator is participating in Steam Next Fest with a playable demo available from June 15–22 on Steam. Ahead of its full launch later this year, the demo invites players to experience the creativity of miniature painting in a digital space, whether they want to run a growing hobby business or simply paint at their own pace.

Watch the latest trailer for Miniature Painter Simulator:

Miniature Painter Simulator is designed for anyone who has ever wanted to try miniature painting but lacked the time, space, supplies, or confidence to get started. Instead of buying paints, brushes, models, tools, and accessories in real life, players can settle into a fully digital hobby bench where they can paint, customize, and experiment freely.

In the game’s shop-management mode, players run their own online miniature painting shop, taking on client requests to clean, repair, paint, and customize miniatures. Completed jobs earn in-game currency that can be spent on new models, paints, accessories, workshop upgrades, and improved tools, creating a satisfying loop of creative work and shop progression.

For players who want to focus entirely on painting, free-painting mode removes jobs, time constraints, and in-game currency management. Customization extends beyond paint, with grass, boulders, and other scenic base details helping players create diorama-style pieces. Players can also import custom models through Steam Workshop or directly in-game, then export painted textures to edit manually or share with friends.

Miniature Painter Simulator Key Features

  • Try Miniature Painting Digitally: Experience the hobby without needing real-world paints, brushes, models, workspace, or prior experience.
  • Run an Online Miniature Painting Shop: Take on client jobs, clean and repair miniatures, fulfill requests, sell finished work, and use in-game earnings to upgrade the shop.
  • Paint Without Pressure: Jump into free-painting mode to focus entirely on painting, decorating, and experimenting.
  • Add the Finishing Touches: Decorate bases with grass, boulders, and scenic elements to create more personalized miniatures.
  • Import Custom Models: Bring custom miniatures into the game through Steam Workshop or direct in-game importing.
  • Export and Share Creations: Export painted miniature textures, manually edit them, or send them to friends.

“Miniature painting has always been a passion of mine, but getting started can feel intimidating,” said Ben Swain, Lead Developer at Swain Games. “The Steam Next Fest demo gives players a chance to sit down at the digital hobby bench, experiment at their own pace, and discover the fun of painting miniatures without worrying about supplies, space, or getting everything perfect.”

Players can download the Miniature Painter Simulator demo during Steam Next Fest from June 15–22 and wishlist the game now on Steam

1666: Amsterdam unveils the first episode of its new Developer Diary series, Behind the Shadows

Montreal, June 15th, 2026 – Panache Digital Games and acclaimed game creator Patrice Désilets have released the first episode of Behind the Shadows, a new Developer Diary series dedicated to the making of 1666: Amsterdam.

Titled “The Vision: The Real City That Became a Myth” this inaugural episode takes viewers behind the creative vision of the game, exploring how the team transformed the real streets of Amsterdam into a world shaped by mystery, superstition, and hidden truths.

Featured in the video:

  • Patrice Désilets – Co-Founder & Creative Director
  • Jean-François Boivin – Co-Founder & Executive Producer
  • Éléa Gadéa – Researcher & Marketing Coordinator
  • Maxime Fortin – Senior Level Designer

The diary reveals how the entire studio travelled to Amsterdam in 2024 to study the city’s streets, canals, architecture, sounds, and atmosphere firsthand. Rather than relying solely on historical references, the team immersed themselves in the city’s environment to better understand its scale, rhythm, and character.

Viewers will also learn more about the game’s exploration systems, including the ability to enter houses, traverse rooftops, and navigate the city alongside a feline companion, creating multiple opportunities for discovery and player choice.

Filmed at the historic Château Ramezay in Old Montreal, the first Developer Diary marks the beginning of a new series that will provide regular insights into the development of 1666: Amsterdam.

Key Quotes

“Inviting the studio to Amsterdam was, at its core, about sharing something. We gathered everyone and said: come into your game. Come experience it the way I did.”
Patrice Désilets, Co-Founder & Creative Director

“Looking at references online is one thing. Being there in person, seeing the proportions, feeling the textures and atmosphere, that’s something entirely different.”
Jean-François Boivin, Co-Founder & Executive Producer

“The player can explore every available house in the neighbourhood, enter through a window with their cat, move across rooftops, and discover entirely different opportunities depending on how they choose to approach the city.”
Maxime Fortin, Senior Level Designer

1666: Amsterdam is set to launch in Early Access on PC in 2026, with console versions planned for a later date. Players eager to follow this journey can now wishlist the game on Steam and the Epic Games Store. For more information about Panache Digital Games please visit the official website here.
