Strange Scaffold Releases El Paso, Elsewhere 2 Demo and New Trailer

The sequel to the acclaimed neo-noir shooter has a demo now on Steam

El Paso, TX – October 15, 2026 – Developer Strange Scaffold (I Am Your Beast, CLICKOLDING, Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator) and publisher Frosty Pop today released a new trailer and the first playable demo for El Paso, Elsewhere 2.

El Paso, Elsewhere 2 – DEMO TRAILER:

El Paso, Elsewhere 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning, 2023 neo-noir shooter. It’s a third-person shooter where players battle through 20+ handcrafted levels filled with sinister gargoyles, possessed animatronics, and gun-toting vampires. Like the first game, El Paso, Elsewhere 2 has fast-paced combat combined with brooding, introspective storytelling in otherworldly environments.

Following the events of El Paso, Elsewhere, this sequel puts players back in control of protagonist James Savage as he journeys across the United States slaying monsters and sealing away insidious supernatural forces. Betrayed by a close friend, James is dragged into the Void itself to repay a terrible debt to an eldritch horror. He once killed the monster he loved to save the world. Now, he must save his betrayer to save himself.

This demo features a single level from early in the campaign, as a fairytale forest quickly reveals that there’s more to its swampy groves than initially meets the eye. Players will wield new weapons to the series including an M16 and automatic shotgun, and face opponents ranging from cackling witches, to stone gargoyles, to gun-toting vampire mafiosos, in a sampler of the variety that will appear in the final game.

Key Features:

  • Use vampiric abilities to dive off of thin air, backflip off of enemies, and feed on the blood that erupts from your opponents when you stake them.
  • Take your fight to reality-defying nightclubs, multi-dimensional libraries, eerie suburbia, and more lairs of eldritch horrors, in 20+ action-packed levels.
  • Wield 15 weapons ranging from Western revolvers, to automatic shotguns, to a tommy gun that fires vampire-killing stakes.
  • Confront Frankenstein, goblin shamans, biblically-accurate angels, and a horde of supernatural enemies both new and old to the series.
  • Fully-voiced cutscenes deliver a new neo-noir tale of supernatural grief and recovery, from the award-winning team behind I Am Your Beast and Space Warlord Baby Trading Simulator.
  • Original hip-hop horror rap album produced by RJ Lake (I Am Your Beast, UNBEATABLE, El Paso, Elsewhere).
  • Multi-genre pulse-pounding instrumental OST by Chicago-based music producer kalibration.

“We looked back to the PS2 not just for inspiration, but for methodology,” says Strange Scaffold studio head Xalavier Nelson Jr. “Just like the games we grew up loving, we’re directly using the foundation and assets of the original project to drive a quantum leap in gameplay. Combat is faster, more brutal, and more nimble, and takes place in exponentially more detailed environments. While I remain extremely proud of EPE1, the difference between a level in the original game, and what we’re doing in the sequel, is night and day, and I’m so excited for folks to finally experience a small part of that first-hand.”

El Paso, Elsewhere 2 launches on PC via Steam and on Xbox Series X|S next year. The demo is available now on Steam for PC. For more information, follow Strange Scaffold on Bluesky.

SKI-E-O! RESORT TYCOON GETS A MAJOR DEMO UPDATE FOR STEAM NEXT FEST

New terrain parks, a brand-new restoration scenario and a few secrets await in the updated demo for the mountain management tycoon coming soon to Steam Early Access

San Francisco, California, United States – October 15, 2026. Falling Damage Games is inviting aspiring ski resort moguls back to the mountain as Ski-E-O! Resort Tycoon will receive a major new demo update ahead of Steam Next Fest, running October 19–26.

The updated demo is now live ahead of Steam Next Fest, adding new ways to shape the perfect ski resort, including Terrain Parks, double black runs, cliff jumps and a new gameplay scenario that challenges players to restore a once-great mountain to its former glory, and new animations that bring the slopes to life.

Watch the Ski-E-O! Resort Tycoon gameplay trailer below.

BUILD ON REAL MOUNTAINS. MANAGE REAL WEATHER.

Ski-E-O! Resort Tycoon puts players in charge of building and managing ski resorts across real-world mountain environments, using actual elevation data to recreate the terrain of some of the world’s most iconic skiing destinations.

With no rigid grid system, players can paint trails directly onto the mountain before building the lodges, restaurants, hotels and other facilities needed to keep guests happy. But the mountain is always changing. Snow falls, settles, melts and drifts across a GPU-simulated snowpack, while weather conditions can bury buildings, overwhelm groomers or leave resorts relying on snowmakers to keep the slopes open.

From Utah and the Colorado Rockies to the Sierras and Pacific Northwest, every mountain brings its own challenges. But it’s not just the mountains of the US. At launch, Ski-E-O! Resort Tycoon will feature mountains from major ski regions around the world, including Japan, the Alps, the Andes, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and China.

NEW WAYS TO PLAY IN THE UPDATED DEMO

The updated demo gives returning players even more reasons to head back to the mountain during Steam Next Fest.

Terrain Parks offer new ways to expand resorts and cater to guests looking to show off their skills, while a new restoration scenario challenges players to take over a neglected mountain and bring it back to its former glory.

New animations also add more personality to the resort as thousands of guests arrive with their own expectations. Some want to relax in a spa or enjoy an après drink, while others are there to find the best run on the mountain.

And there may be a few other things worth looking out for.

The mountains have plenty of wildlife to discover. Although if you see something that looks a little too big, a little too hairy and definitely wasn’t on the trail map… maybe keep it to yourself!

EVERY GUEST HAS A DIFFERENT IDEA OF A PERFECT HOLIDAY

Building a successful resort isn’t just about laying down ski runs. Players need to understand their guests, manage staff and Ski Patrol, keep facilities running and make sure there is something for everyone.

Watch a skier confidently head for a run that’s clearly beyond their ability. Keep an eye on the weather. Make sure the lifts are running. Build warming huts for cold guests, waffle stands for hungry ones and luxury accommodation for those looking to enjoy the mountain in style.

Every decision contributes to the reputation of the resort, and every season brings a new set of challenges.

The updated Ski-E-O! Resort Tycoon demo will be available to play during Steam Next Fest from October 19–26, giving players the chance to experience the latest additions before the game arrives in Steam Early Access.

WARDOGS SEASON 2 IS OUT NOW

The 3-million-selling tactical FPS released its first major Early Access update, bringing new weapons, vehicles, dynamic weather and major gameplay changes

DERBY, UK – October 15, 2026 – BULKHEAD and publisher team17 have released season 2 for WARDOGS, marking the first major update for the hugely successful 100-player tactical FPS since its Steam Early Access debut last month.

Players can expect new firepower, fresh tactical opportunities and changes to core gameplay systems as BULKHEAD continues to develop WARDOGS alongside its growing community.

Season 2 brings a different kind of battlefield to WARDOGS. For the first time, players will have to contend with heavy rain and thunderstorms, changing how they approach engagements as visibility and sound become increasingly important. Thunder can temporarily mask footsteps, creating opportunities for coordinated assaults, flanking manoeuvres and unexpected encounters.

The update also brings four new weapons, four vehicles and three buildable structures to expand the tactical options available to players. These include the T-72B3 main battle tank, Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air vehicle and new defensive fortifications.

For players willing to take a gamble, the experimental Wager Vendor introduces an additional layer of risk and reward, allowing them to stake in-game cash on their own performance for the chance of bigger payouts.

However, Season 2 isn’t simply about adding more content. Following a month of watching how millions of players approach the game, BULKHEAD has made substantial changes to combat balance, progression, teamplay and faction dynamics.

One of the more unusual changes sees the studio actively encouraging players to join Lonestar, the underperforming blue faction, through exclusive cash and XP incentives. The initiative is part of BULKHEAD’s ongoing experimentation with the game’s three-faction warfare and the evolving strategies of its community.

Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD, said:

“Players have already found ways to play WARDOGS that we never expected, and they’ve certainly not been shy about telling us what needs improving. That’s exactly what we wanted from Early Access.

“Season 2 is about taking everything we’ve learned over the past month and putting it into action. There’s plenty of new stuff to play with, but the changes under the hood are just as important. We’re building this game with our players, and we’re only getting started.”

The Season 2 launch also follows another major moment for the WARDOGS community. Last night, BULKHEAD revealed the winning entry in its #WARDOGS100K competition, awarding one player an incredible $100,000 in real-world cash for their gameplay clip.

The winning clip was selected from thousands of community submissions, with a further 99 finalists receiving $100,000 each in WARDOGS in-game currency.

Watch the $100K Winner Reveal: WARDOGS – The $100K Clip Revealed

Following its September 10 Early Access launch, WARDOGS has already surpassed three million copies sold and recorded a peak of more than 425,000 concurrent players on Steam.

Season 2 marks the next chapter for the Derby-based studio, with further content, refinements and updates planned throughout Early Access.

WARDOGS Season 2 is OUT NOW on Steam.

Welcome to the Lair of the Leviathan – A brand-new old-school RPG published by Deck13 Spotlight

Lair of the Leviathan is an old-school turn-based RPG with a beautifully handcrafted pixel world, directly inspired by classic legends such as Ultima, Pools of Radiance, and the early Baldur’s Gate series.

A whisper in the dark. An echo to the ear.
O brave warriors, stand tall! Defy your fears!
Out of myth and time, Death slumbers in the Lair.
There, past Ocean’s Edge, where Glory meets Despair.

Deck13 Spotlight is proud to announce Lair of the Leviathan, an old-school RPG developed by the talented teams of Nostalgic Realms and Whiskybarrel Studios, two solo developers who joined forces to create the game of their dreams, as no one else was willing to take on this mission.

Two developers, one quest

RPGs have lost their identity over the last decades. Once, they were about exploring and writing your own adventure. Getting lost in interesting side quests, forming a party, and fighting well-balanced turn-based battles. Large worlds to explore at your own pace. Handcrafted dungeons and towns brimming with detail and life. A world the players experience in mind, instead of showcasing bombast all over the place. Game maps that beckon you to forge your own path rather than a task list of quest markers.

That’s what Lair of the Leviathan is all about. We’re hoping to bring back what was great about RPGs. That intangible magic that somehow got lost along the way. Inspired by legendary series such as Ultima and Pools of Radiance, with a mix of the early Baldur’s Gate games. All visualized in a stunning pixel-art style as seen in the official Announcement Teaser.

Announced among friends

Lair of the Leviathan was revealed during the Announcement Event for Drova II – Torn Lands, another old-school RPG to be published by Deck13 Spotlight, where frenetic applause echoed in the old dungeon-like location when the last scene revealed amazing cover art by Matt Stawicki, and everyone knew that this marks the return of the era of RPGs.

Lair of the Leviathan was officially announced for PC and Consoles. Gamers can now wishlist on Steam and GOG. A first Announcement Teaser has been released, with further details to follow in the coming months.

About Nostalgic Realms & Whiskeybarrel Studios

Nostalgic Realms – David

Frustrated with the growing divide between the RPGs he so fondly remembered and the modern RPGs he saw, David started developing Lair of the Leviathan several years ago after teaching himself pixel art as a stay-at-home dad. What started as a hobby then turned into a full commercial project, and after Oliver Joyce came on board, it has grown into something much larger than he ever imagined doing.

Lair of the Leviathan is his first game, and he still can’t believe it is a real thing.

Whiskeybarrel Studios – Oliver Joyce

Oliver has been making games for as long as he can remember. He began his game dev journey as a child, faithfully copying code from BASIC adventure game books and was one of the stars of the wild west days of Flash gaming, making games that reached hundreds of millions of players on games portals far and wide. Now grey bearded and (debatably) wiser, he turns to the ‘serious business’ of making epic role playing games to compete with the titans of the genre.

Over twenty years in the industry, Oliver has made hundreds of games ranging from obscure Flash titles to the cult classic Swords and Sandals gladiator series, beloved by a generation of kids all over the world. A decade ago he founded Whiskeybarrel Studios and has shipped more than a dozen successful games on Steam, console and mobile platforms. Oliver’s ultimate goal was to bring a game like Lair of the Leviathan to life.

Now, teamed up with David and his formidable pixel art talents, we’ve spent the last two years forging this most epic and ambitious of projects – an RPG that captures the essence of what we miss the most about the games of our youth, but also brings with it the modern lessons of game design and usability. A game that captures the essence of why we play RPGs, that recaptures that lost wonder of our dice-rolling youth.

New Forge of the Fae Trailer reveals that its mystical Celtic world arrives in March 2027 (PC/XB/SW1&2/PS4&5)

“Never follow the music into the night, child. That is how the Fae will take you!!”

What once was a fairy tale for children, has become a dark reality. And this March, Forge of the Fae, the story-rich pixel JRPG from Datadyne LLC, will unleash the world of the Fae.

What awaits you in Forge of the Fae? Join Fiora and her friends as they set off on a journey to solve a series of mysterious disappearances. Explore a mystical world inspired by 19th-century Ireland, but be warned: your decisions will influence what the future holds. You might even awaken an ancient threat…

The newly released trailer marks an important milestone, not only because it reveals when players can finally start exploring the Celtic-inspired world, but also because developer Datadyne LLC and Publisher Deck13 Spotlight have worked hard to bring this adventure to life over the last five years.

Classic Turn-Based Combat, Exploration and Puzzle-Solving

Inspired by classic JRPGs, Forge of the Fae combines strategic turn-based combat with exploration, puzzle-solving, and character-driven storytelling. Players will be challenged to master the “ARC Crystal” system, which offers versatile, customizable spells and abilities, and the “Adrenaline” system, adding depth and excitement to combat. Alongside the action, environmental puzzles, secrets, and optional discoveries scattered throughout the world encourage exploration and reward players with powerful items and hidden lore.

Forge of the Fae will release in March 2027 for XBOX One, Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and GOG. A free demo is available through Steam. Wishlist the game now on Steam and GOG!

The Torn Lands await you in DROVA II

The Divinities have been freed. Discover the Torn Lands that the Mist revealed. An all-new world to explore. New Factions to join. On which side will you make your stand?

Developer Just2D and Publisher Deck13 Spotlight are proud to announce Drova II – Torn Lands, the sequel to the indie smash hit Drova – Forsaken Kin. The time has come to return to the Otherworld as the Dark Fog seems to be gone. The magic has returned to Drova, but a dangerous wound remains… a ravine that splits the lands in two. An unknown threat lingers in the depths.

Drova II – Torn Lands offers exactly what players would expect from a worthy successor: an open world that is slightly larger but similarly detailed, an improved and expanded combat system, two new factions, more decisions to influence the story, all new cultures to get to know, and the very same approach: no quest markers. No Bullshit. The philosophy is the same: With every design decision, the premise is to take the player seriously.

Building upon this philosophy, the mission for Drova II – Torn Lands was clear: Improve upon the strengths, iron out what wasn’t perfect yet, and deliver an experience that players will remember even after years have passed. A true classic.

The Divinities are free – the world is not!

The Divinities have been freed after the events of Drova – Forsaken Kin. The Dark Fog is gone. A ravine is dividing the land. It winds its way not only through the parched earth, but also through the minds of those living in the Otherworld. There are shadows in the dark. An unknown threat. Will those who live be prepared for what is about to come? Two factions, each built around their Divinity. It is up to you whom you will join: Will you choose to follow the Bear Mother or will you join the ranks of the Great Ram?

Cultures are clashing; tension is rising. You have to decide at some point. And decisions will influence how the world is shaped. Your decisions will make an impact on how quests turn out and on how the story unfolds.

Decisions will eventually lead to fights you cannot avoid. But that’s a given, as the Otherworld, while freed from the Dark Fog, is still a dangerous place with well-known and new monsters roaming in the wilderness. The beloved combat system has been improved and expanded, offering more choices, even more unique combat styles and well-iterated mechanics.

Drova II – Torn Lands has been announced for PC and Consoles. It stays true to the philosophies of its predecessor while improving upon the strengths in every aspect. More details about the ambitious Action RPG will be released in the coming months. Drova II – Torn Lands is supported by the Games Fund Germany and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space.
