Beyonce sued in multi-million dollar video game suit

When you have a Grammy Award winner backed to make a video game with you, you know you have hit it big.

However, a video game developer is suing singer Beyoncé for not playing fair in a deal for a game structured around her.

Gate Five LLC sued the multi-award winning singer in a lawsuit insisting she made a lucrative agreement in June last year for a game called “Starpower: Beyoncé”, then demanded a new deal and abruptly abandoned the project.

The lawsuit describes Beyoncé’s manoeuvring drove a backer away and destroyed Gate Five’s business. Gate Five says it lost its $US7 million investment in the venture and more than $US100 million in potential profits. Seventy people lost their job.

Her publicist and the company’s lawyer didn’t immediately respond to inquiries.  But we’ll keep you update 😉

Brink releases third video in GET SMART series

With the release of Brink less than two weeks away, Bethesda Softworks have released the third video in their GET SMART series. The GET SMART series covers all of the information players hope to know about how to play the game, and the third installment is no different; this time Bethesda has revealed just how general gameplay will work.

It also looks at health, combat, and buffs.

Needless to say, this game looks great and the GET SMART series is doing an awesome job of covering all the information about Brink that players will need to know before purchasing. Check out the third GET SMART video below. Brink releases on May 12th in Australia and May 13th in New Zealand.

Binary Domain set for 2012 release; gameplay trailer revealed

Binary Domain was announced back at the end of 2010 but that was the last time we had seen anything about the futuristic shooter. That is until now because Sega has not only confirmed that Binary Domain will be released early 2012 but also they have released a new trailer for the game that shows actual gameplay.

The title is being created by Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi players will take control of a squad of humans that will be doing battle against the machines in Tokyo 2080. The game looks actually quite impressive though it seems that it will center around cover based combat similar to what you would find in Gears of War. Also may I say that the robots disguised as humans certainly gives off a major Terminator feel.

First Bloodrayne: Betrayal screenshot is full of blood but no rayne

We haven’t seen much of Bloodrayne: Betrayal ever since it was announced last month. There has been few details and even fewer actual images of the game and how it will look. That is until Majesco decided to update their Facebook page with a screenshotshowing an explosion of blood and guys in fancy suits being killed. One thing that isn’t seen however is Rayne herself besides a rough pixelation.

The reason for this pixelation was actually censorship from the company themselves because they are saving the new character design for a later announcement.  From what we can make out on the character she will still have her blood red hair but besides that there is little be seen. You can check out their Facebook page if you wish to, but there is nothing to see at the moment besides the same teaser trailer we’ve already seen.

Tales of the Abyss 3D will be released in U.S.

Namco Bandai has had everyone going for quite awhile. Despite the number of days growing fewer and fewer until the June 30th release of the title in Japan, Namco Bandai has not said a word concering Tales of the Abyss 3D’s status for being released internationally. Well that can all be put to bed now because Nintendo Power has confirmed that Tales of the Abyss 3D will indeed be released in North America.

This information comes from the May 2011 issue of the magazine but unfortunately the only thing that was shown for the title was that it will be released in the US at some point, meaning no release date. There was, however, a new trailer for the title released in Japan, so you can catch some gameplay footage of the title as well as how the anime cutscenes will look on the 3DS. Catch the trailer below, and I know all the fans of the Tales series will be happy to see that not much has been altered from the PS2 title.

Madden NFL 12 cover winner announced; Peyton Hillis wins

EA Sports decided to do something a bit different this time around and allowed fans to vote for which athlete they believe should grace the cover of Madden NFL 12. The voting ended yesterday after going since March 21st and Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis will have the honor of being the next cover athlete for Madden. He beat out Michael Vick who was his closest runner with a total of 12.7 million votes between the two.

Now all Cleveland Browns fans can do is hope that the Madden Curse doesn’t strike Peyton Hillis this upcoming season if in fact there is a season this year. Either way though, Madden NFL 12 will be released on August 30th and football fans can get their Madden fix for the year.

Red Faction: Armageddon suffers slight delay; releases June 7th

Destroying environments and aliens on Mars won’t be happening like you thought it may have been on May 31st and June 3rd for the US and internationally respectively. Instead THQ has announced that the game has been pushed back a week due to an unforeseen delay. Though no exact reason was given for the delay it means that fans of Volition’s Red Faction series will have to wait until June 7th and the 10th to get their hands on the newest title of the franchise.

Still despite the delay you can still gain access to the demo of the game for free when the demo launches on the Xbox 360 and possibly on the PlayStation 3 on May 3rd. Then again if the PSN is still down on May 3rd then you can’t expect this demo to be released on there on time.
