ASSASSIN’S CREED SHADOWS WILL RECEIVE ITS LAST MAJOR UPDATE ON JUNE 16, FEATURING A FINAL STORY CHAPTER CONNECTED TO ASSASSIN’S CREED BLACK FLAG RESYNCED  

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA–JUNE16, 2026 –Today, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows Title Update 1.1.11 will be launching from tomorrow as a free update on all platforms except Switch 2. Nintendo Switch 2 players will receive the update at a later date.

The game’s final major update introduces several additions, including: 

  • Black Tides: a final story arc, delivering approximately two hours of narrative content that concludes Naoe and Yasuke’s journey, while connecting to Edward Kenway’s story in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and the broader Assassin’s Creed universe. Access to Black Tides does not require ownership of the Claws of Awaji expansion, however, players must have completed the main story, as well as the previous story content updates A Critical Encounter and A Puzzlement. 
  • Domains: A replayability-focused set of challenges comprising five end-game simulations with evolving gameplay modifiers. Designed to challenge players’ mastery of combat and character builds, Domains offer new unlockable gear, exclusive rewards, and hidden secrets. 
  • A new Modern Day Rift entitled Horizon: This newly opened Rift reveals emerging threats. The Eagle will provide more information about the Guide… 

In addition tothis update, two new projects will be added to the Animus Hub: Projects Undertow and Riptides. They feature Assassin’s Creed Black Flag-inspired outfits for Naoe and Yasuke. Following the release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on July 9, players will also be able to unlock Assassin’s Creed Shadows-inspired outfits for Edward Kenway.

Dan Houser and Lazlow alongside creative partners from Dark Horse Comics, Smilegate and Kevin Anderson & Associates, shared insights on building immersive worlds beyond video games

NEW YORK, NY June 15, 2026 — As part of the Storytelling Summit at this year’s Tribeca Festival, Dan Houser, founder of Absurd Ventures and longtime creative force behind the Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption and Bully franchises, took the stage on June 13 for “LUMINARIES: DAN HOUSER’S ABSURD VENTURES,” a wide-ranging conversation on storytelling, worldbuilding and the future of entertainment.

Joined by longtime collaborator and Absurd Ventures founding member Lazlow, Dark Horse Comics Head of Publishing Tim Wiesch, Kevin Anderson & Associates CEO Kevin Anderson and Smilegate Vice President of GTM Paul Lee, Houser discussed the creative philosophy behind Absurd Ventures and its growing project slate across three original universes spanning video games, books, comics, audio fiction, animation, television and more.

Moderated by award-winning broadcaster Elle Osili-Wood, the session drew attendees from across the entertainment, publishing, gaming and media industries for a conversation centered on creativity, innovation and the next generation of worldbuilding.

“It always comes down to story or narrative… What we’re looking for is something we find interesting and then a conflict. A character who is not at one with his world, and then that evolves into something bigger. Then we’d bat it backwards and forwards, and some things would blossom and some things would shrivel. But you start to go, “I think this has legs.”

“The whole point of an open world game is we provide guides, but we want you to experience the story…The players enjoying being in the world, mucking around, doing whatever they want to do, messing with the systems. The most fun thing about the game isn’t any rubbish we write, it’s the systems that we make. That’s still always going to be the most fun – it’s being in this world, seeing what happens when you jump off this building, when you punch that person, you drive that car, when you interact with this thing or that thing, whatever way, that’s always going to have a sort of magical quality to it — and we are on some level on the story side, just the icing on the cake.We can’t be precious about what they do. We can encourage them to play it the way we want them to play it, but we have to give them agency.”

“Some jokes don’t age that well — society changes values… In terms of jokes, you find things that you think are funny that have some kind of eternal truth about human foibles in them, and then most of them should stand on the test of time. Politicians are always going to be hypocritical. They may not always be comparable in this way or that way – but if what you’re exposing is the hypocrisy, that’s probably going to last. I think it’s always about looking for something that feels both topical in some ways but has some eternal truth.”

When you’re writing the dialogue for those games and making those rich universes, if people hear every line of dialogue that you’ve written, you haven’t written enough. Because you’ve got living, breathing worlds with those NPCs that have lives and personalities. So, we said, “Let’s keep doing this amazing stuff but in new spaces.”

Elemental avatar VOINreturns in a blaze of glory with the game’s third major update. Slash through scorching enemy swarms, an expansive dungeon, new items, and rebalanced difficulty levels, among other quality of life improvements. 

Step through The Thousand Names Atheneum, a blistering locale with breathtaking sights to behold. Traverse winding corridors riddled with foes, gaze in awe at the open-air vistas, and face the Fleshsmith Ramzedram in this multi-layered dungeon five times larger than the Cathedral of the Other Side. 

Orchestrated by the Mother Herald, tear through never-ending waves of new enemies. Swiftly vanquish up to 300 foes at once, and cut them down in style with freshly forged weapons dealing elemental damage. Uncover artifacts to gain an upper hand, but beware as they may act in HER favor instead.

Conquer new tasks scattered throughout the map, and claim randomized rewards at the end of every run. The Inferno update also introduces rebalanced difficulty levels, improved attack speed rates, and reworked save systems, among other changes to keep HER reign lasting forevermore.

EDGE OF MEMORIES DEMO NOW AVAILABLE ON STEAM

SFTP – Super Football Tactics Pro drops you into the high-energy chaos of a wild football league where classic checkers meets hard-hitting strategy and the football fantasy of offensive and defensive lines, ball carriers, and big collisions.

The game casts the player as a British ex-soccer coach hired to manage an American football team and bring it to the highest ranks of a very special league. While the standard rules of checkers apply, the player will alternate between attack and defense, trying to outsmart their opponent. Winning the traditional way in Checkers, or bringing the ball to the final line, the player learns to unleash game-changing special powers that can flip the match in an instant: Rewind the last turn or deliver a dummy and block a tile, the game isn’t over until it’s over (and the referee isn’t exactly helping).

The game lets the player charge through the story mode, defeat the league’s toughest teams and their totally unhinged coaches, and unlock powerful new abilities, fame and new sponsors as they climb their way to football glory. 

The demo features the bronze league of SFTP. The full game, coming this Summer, will feature the rest of the tournament, each with new teams and their unhinged coaches, teaching the player new powers, and leading to an epic final match. The full game will also include two additional modes:

  • An arcade mode, where the player can hone their skills in quick matches against the 3 different difficulty levels of the computer, or fight one of their friends in local multiplayer on the same PC. 
  • An Online multiplayer mode, where players compete against one another in public or private lobbies.

The full version of  SFTP – Super Football Tactics Pro is scheduled to release this Summer on PC, and players can add it to their wishlist on Steam now.

Co-Op Bermuda Triangle Extraction Game ‘Wreck Runners’ Heading to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 Consoles on July 16

(June 15, 2026) – Disruptive Games is pleased to announce that its co-op multiplayer extraction game, Wreck Runners, will also be released on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles, as well as the previously confirmed PC launch. Set in the Bermuda Triangle, this chaotic, loot-gathering, sometimes-spooky-often-hilarious game will be released later in 2026.

The extremely benevolent and not at all suspicious Trustwell Corporation has an urgent contract and it needs you and up to three friends to head to the Bermuda Triangle. You’ll explore the vast reaches of this tropical destination in search of valuable loot and profits for your mother company. Just don’t ask about the ominous and encroaching Fog. 

Hop into your all-terrain and aquatic vehicle, the ORCA, and venture out into the murky depths, unsafe skies, and a world that’s collapsing around you, aiming to locate precious salvage. Your Scrapjack tool can help too, as you wrangle with its physics-based grappler to wrest loot from difficult to reach places. 

Every run is unpredictable and you’ll need to brave unnatural creatures and the elements, including that pesky Fog, to get out safely. In between these runs, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your loot into treasure. Use your earnings to gain better equipment, upgrades, and even a fresh look for you and your crew. Being a wreck runner isn’t always easy, but with comms and collaboration, you’ll become Trustwell’s best employees.

Wreck Runners is coming to PC via Steam, as well as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, on July 16, 2026.
