Interactive Skyrim map coming to iOS

Currently, there are ways to find your way in the massive world of Skyrim, but they are not easy enough for many people. You can print a map out or view it in PDF on your computer.

However, we all know that apps are the way to go for a simplified experience. And thus, Dragon Shout has arrived. Coming to iOS as soon as it passes certification, this app will allow you to do a plethora of awesome stuff.

“The first version of the app contains an interactive map where you can drop annotated markers / journal entries down,” the developer told Touch Arcade. “For example, yesterday I played Skyrim and left a bunch of dragon scales and bones on the side of a mountain because they were too heavy.”

In the next update, the developer also promised social networkincorporation, with “marker sharing, party or app-wide chats, pictures, and more.”

The best part is: IT WILL BE FREE!

Oh man, I always get excited when I see an indie game with cool ideas, a great soundtrack and some nice artwork. And that is precisely what the new game from Techtonic features. Titled Bust-n-Rush, this game has you running through procedurallly generated levels as you “Bust to Rush.” Coming soon to the PC and Mac, this is one game to watch.

Check out the trailer below and then let us know what you think.

For more information on the backstory in the game, additional screenshots and enhanced gameplay descriptors, visit the official website of the game here.

ESRB comes to phone games; but not Droid or iPhone

People play video games on phones other than the Droid and the iPhone. Yes, we know its crazy, but ’tis truth! And those are the games that will now be rated by the ESRB. AT&T Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless have all agreed to use the ESRB rating system for their mobile games. In addition, Microsoft has also signed off on the agreement, thus meaning that all their gaming apps on the WP7 will be rated in a similar way to the way their Xbox 360 games are. Developers will be required to fill out a survey that asks them to rate their games and then an ESRB score will be assigned. The ESRB score for mobile apps will account for privacy and location based concerns.

However, Apple and Google have declined to go with the ESRB, as they already have an app rating system, albeit less recognizable than the ESRB ratings.

Overall, I strongly applaud this move and think it is a great move by the ESRB and phone companies alike.

Zumba Fitness 2 rocks it on the Wii

Zumba is a craze sweeping the nation! Or that’s what my television tells me at 2 in the morning. Well, Zumba certainly swept the fitness game titles, selling more than 4 million copies and being the number one on the wish list of fitness gamers (and they just might happen to be females… so what?).

Zumba Fitness 2 builds on the foundation of the first one, with all new routines, music, customization features and 24 dance styles, more than any other game out there. The Zumba presenters Beto, Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant are there to egg you on through all the new styles and venues. There is single song, full clas and multiplayer mode, with support for up to four dancers.

So get those hips swaying and those abs defining, cos that’s what Zumba is all about!

Zumba Fitness 2 is available on the Wii at the RRP of $69.95 or HERE for $40.32

Dynasty Warriors Next gameplay footage revealed

We’ve seen a few screenshots of Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors Next for the PlayStation Vita but we have yet to see how the game is actually going to look in motion. Or that is until now when Tecmo Koei of Japan released the two videos you can see below which cover plenty of the action that we will be seeing when the title is released.

Unfortunately the title has yet to actually see a North American release date yet, but it is slated as a launch title on December 17th for the PlayStation Vita in Japan. You can see the two videos below and also see how the motion controls and touch pad will factor into gameplay once it is released.

It appears that being banned in Iran didn’t affect the developers of Battlefield 3 much as they are hard at work releasing the next client update (read: Patch) for Battlefield 3 on consoles. Voltron assembles on PSN and XBLA this week

After Voltron: Defender of the Universe slipped from its October release date fans were worried about when they would be seeing their classic multi-colored robotic creatures assembling into a giant fighting robot on their console of choice. They need not despair however as THQ has revealed that Voltron: Defender of the Universe will be released this week on PSN and XBLA.

The title will be available tomorrow on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 version is already available right now. Players will be able to control one robot at a time and can choose which one they would rather use given the various stats each one has. Then once combined the player actually controls that body part of Voltron themselves, which just sounds immensely confusing.

Free Victini to go along with airing of Pokémon the Movie: White-Victini and Zekrom

While early adopters of Pokémon White and Black were given the opportunity to capture Victini with little actual trouble, not everyone has been able to get this powerful fire Pokémon and add them to their party. However it seems that they now will be able to pick them up through a new promotion being run by Nintendo and Pokémon for the new movie being released which is called Pokémon the Movie: White-Victini and Zekrom.

Players will be able to connect to their Wi-Fi Connection portal and will be able to pick up a level 50 Victini who is also a fire and psychic type Pokémon. The creature is extremely strong and possesses both the Black & White legendary Pokémon’s main skills. Creating perhaps the strongest Victini possible. So best check the Wi-Fi Connection portal on and after December 3rd to pick it up.

Producer of To aru Majutsu no Index claims 26 episode season costs 300 million yen

Everything in life takes money and making movies and anime are no different. Usually when one hears about the figures needed to create their favorite shows it is a big surprise as to how expensive they can be, but none could expect them to be quite as expensive as anime turns out to be. Nobuhiro Nakayama, the producer of To aru Majutsu no Index and Hatsukoi Limited held a lecture this weekend at Tokyo university ad he revealed that the cost to make a 26 episode anime series costs around 300 million yen, or $3.85 million to make.

After revealing this startlingly high number, Nakayama went on to say that whenever an anime is successful, the anime is then “everyone’s achievement; however, if it fails, it is the producer’s responsibility, so bear that in mind.” This makes a decent amount of sense and is true for other forms of media as well, for example if a major movie production flops at the box office, people will always blame the director first.
