Minor Lords available for free on iPhone, iPad and Android app store

While some people can see the relatively cheap prices of the app store and be perfectly fine picking up an app that only costs a dollar or a few bucks, but how about an app that is completely free? 7sixty has placed their tower defense app, “The Minor Lords: Archibald & Remus” on both the iOS and Android app store and the price of the app on both services is completely free for the first 15 stages, after that more stages must be purchased.

Those who want to pick up the title on the iOS can do so here, while Android users can here. In Minor Lords players must help the wisecracking Archi and Remus find a castle that they can call home, but it seems that this angry horde that has kept chasing them from place to place refuses to let them settle down anywhere. As such players must help defend them with a variety of towers that are as deadly as they are hilarious.

Megaupload Shut Down – SOPA Cackles Maniacally

1

The file-sharing giant Megaupload has been officially shut down by the United States Government, with it’s founder and company employees all arrested for violating piracy laws. The U.S. Government claims that the raid and take down was a necessary reaction to Megaupload’s supposed illegitimate actions that caused half a billion dollars in lost revenue for various copyright holders.

Many fear that this is simply the first push by Government officials to get SOPA through. SOPA is of course the Stop Online Piracy Act, an act that if implemented would not only shut down websites like Megaupload but even websites such as Capsule Computers. Why would it shut Capsule Computers down you wonder? Well under the guidelines of SOPA any use of copyrighted imagery, videos or even words (all which are featured on our site simply to promote products and the entertainment industry) can result in 5 years jail time for piracy of copyrighted material.

Megaupload’s fall signifies the first strike and it will not be the last if SOPA is approved. Internet hacking group Anonymous have already retaliated by taking down a large number of Government websites in an act they call World War 2.0. We at Capsule Computers do not condone such actions, however we do support other manners of protest such as that taken by Wikipedia. Follow this link to see how you can help stop SOPA.

Megaupload may be gone, but they will not be forgotten. You can listen to their star-studded theme song below. It’s quite ironic that so many A-list artists supported Megaupload, yet they were apparently nothing but a band of pirates only intending to hurt said artists that supported them. Who is right and who is wrong? That’s up to you to decide.

Some Indie for the Vita – Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack

Looking for something a little bit different for that Vita? How about some indie blob based antics?

You may have seen Tales from Space: About a Blob on the PlayStation Network last year, and this second release from DrinkBox Studios – Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack – is set to bring new features and gameplay modes to the series that will take advantage of the Vita’s new tech. Expect to control your all-consuming mutant blob with the front and rear touch screens and gyroscope, and devour your way through frat houses and cities alike in this puzzle platformer with more than 24 levels.

It’s perhaps no surprise that the developers have found the Vita an exciting prospect, the portable set up is certainly something that suits this style of game, and Ryan MacLean, CEO of DrinkBox Studios, has even mused that the Vita has allowed this game to surpass its console counterpart:

“We are all very excited about PlayStation®Vita and to be part of the launch. The system’s next generation features have allowed us to really think outside of the box while developing Mutant Blobs Attack – it feels as though the technology has in some areas exceeded that of its console counterpart. We’ve had a lot of fun creating the game and we’re working hard to get it out as soon as possible!”

DrinkBox are aiming to have the game ready to roll for the North American Vita launch date.

Darksiders II: Behind the Scenes Video Shows off Killer Footage

The first Darksiders was a surprise hit, but since its announcement last year, news on the sequel has been sparse. Thankfully, THQ have now released a new “Behind the Mask” video which shows off not only a lot about the game’s protagonist, Death, but also some of the locations that will be visited over the course of the “more involved” storyline and some of the improvements to the overall gameplay.

The developers also promise smoother and more agile character movement in both platforming and combat, more characters, and a world that feels more alive than the abandoned, demon-infested Earth setting of the first game.

Check it all out in the video below.
