Hitman novel will take place before Hitman: Absolution

0

The Hitman series has plenty of games in its library, but it also has one book released so far, and now it appears that Del Rey will be releasing a second novel for the Hitman series. This time around the book will be called Hitman: Damnation and it will be released sometime in the Summer of this year.

The story in Hitman: Damnation will follow Agent 47 as he is on a mission to assassinate high-level political figures in America. The title is being written by Raymand Benson and is being called an “official prequel” of Hitman: Absolution. This means that, according to the press release, the book will take place between Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution so those looking to fill that story gap will certainly be interested in picking this up.

Jak and Daxter Trilogy Dated for February

Late last year, it was confirmed that the long awaited Jak and Daxter Trilogy would in fact be releasing in February. As of today though, this bit of news is now a bit clearer as official dates have been added into the mix. On February 7th for the US (and Feb. 22nd for Europe), Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3 will all be re-released in their brand new 720p high definition presentation.

Also included will be 100 trophies to collect as well as stereoscopic 3D capabilities for those with the correct hardware. It’s been years since I have played a Jak game, but this trilogy is very tempting at the moment. So, are you planning on dishing out the cash to meet up with these two iconic characters? New Rhythm Heaven Fever trailer is hinTing at something

As we get closer to the launch of Rhythm Heaven Fever for the Wii, Nintendo seem to be sparing no expense when it comes to the actual promotion of the game. Yet another clip was released earlier today, showing off some ball-kicking, fish-snatching activities featured within, but at the end, a “T” is given some extra attention for one reason or another.

To make this even more eyebrow raising, Nintendo also posted this clip to their Youtube account with this description:

Keep your eyes open for a special something that may come in handy. (hint, hint)

Interrresting…

What does this letter mean? At the moment, this could be a reveal at something major for the franchise, or just simply a code that could unlock some bonus content. Yes, another classic example of a Nintease. Watch the clip down below, and get your eyes peeled as once Nintendo release the next clip…and clue, we will be sure to bring you an update.

Nintendo dish out new Trailer for Mario Party 9

Get those dice ready! Mario Party 9 is set to launch on March 11th, but since being announced last year at E3, news has been pretty sparse up until recently. To prepare fans, Nintendo have released a new trailer for the party favorite on the Wii, showing off the many mini-games players will encounter.

The first thing you will notice though is the new feature for the franchise. Instead of taking turns moving across the board, all four participants will travel together in a vehicle and take turns to determine how many spaces your ride moves on each turn. As far as mini-games go, it’s Mario Party and the usual mix of ring-tossing, platforming, and aiming to destroy your opponents have been included, with old and new game styles making an appearance. Feast your eyes on the trailer below.

NIS America licenses Daily Lives of High School Boys anime

NIS AMerica has just revealed that they will be planning to release the anime adaptation of the Daily Lives of High School Boys manga. Currently they have yet to reveal how they will be releasing the title but one can expect that they will be releasing a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack as well as a premium package with an artbook.

For those who don’t know, Daily Lives of High School Boys is a gag manga that has only been airing in Japan for the past three weeks and follows the everyday life of Tadakuni and other boys who attend a boys only high school. This is the second license acquisition for NIS America this Winter 2012 season after their licensing of Brave10 which possibly means NISA is quickly moving into the anime business.

Inversion officially delayed ’till early 2012

It appears that even the ability to shift gravity at will can’t save Inversion from being officially delayed by Namco Bandai. After we reported yesterday about various retailers changing the release date to March 27 Namco Bandai has officially stated that the title is now meant to be released sometime “early 2012” to Joystiq.

“The launch of Inversion has been moved to early 2012, and more details will follow in an upcoming announcement. This additional development time will allow the team to polish several key aspects of the game ensuring Inversion is of the highest quality,” was what the statement read. Perhaps this will also allow more time for Namco Bandai to market the title and develop a bit more hype before its next release date is announced.

Try not to fall apart at the sight of these NeverDead screens and art

The wait to finally tear your head off and toss it through a basketball hoop will soon be over as Konami’s NeverDead is set to be released next week on January 31st. Well, for now you can at least take a look at these new screenshots and pieces of artwork that were released today by Konami.

Now while decapitation, dismemberment and catching fire may seem like it would be the death of any normal protagonist, Bryce never has to worry about that because he has been cursed with immortality and must fight against the demons destroying the world. Those eager to pick up the title can do so on either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

Microsoft dropping MS Points, switching to the real thing?

According to many rumors, Microsoft is strongly considering dropping their virtual currency in favor of cold hard cash (or debit cards or whatever).  Transactions on the marketplace would be conducted in each countries given currency, instead of forcing people to buy Points first.  Many services on Xbox Live have already made the switch, like new movies, music and Games on Demand.  However, the vast majority of items on the service still require MS Points.  For now, all Microsoft will say is: “We do not comment on rumors or speculation.”  How do you feel about this?
