When the price was announced for Resident Evil: Revelations most people were surprised because it would end up being the most expensive Nintendo 3DS game of all time as it was expected to be sold at $49.99. The reason for the more expensive price tag was supposed to be the fact that the game was going to be on a 4GB cartridge rather than the standard 2GB cartridge.
It seems that the game will be a bit cheaper than originally expected as Capcom’s Brett Elston has announced to the world that after spending “weeks of effort” Capcom has been able to drop the price down to the more tolerable $39.99 which is standard for the Nintendo 3DS.
EA Sports have released their third producer video in prepartion to the release of Grand Slam Tennis 2, this time showing off the PRO AI system which will be an integral part of the game.
Each player has their own unique mannerisms, making them mimic their real life counterparts and adding an organic feel to the game. The AI will also adapt to your tendencies, forcing you to play smart and keep on your toes throughout the match.
For a more in-depth explanation of the PRO AI system, check out the video down below featuring EA Sports and GST 2 producer, Thomas Singleton.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 will be available on the 14th of February for Xbox 360 and PS3.
KONAMI have announced that their Facebook page has made it to the 5 million “likes” mark, and to celebrate this social media milestone, Cristiano Ronaldo has recorded a message for the Facebook fans.
Ronaldo, who became the face of the PES series last year, dedicated a special message to the 5 million followers, in addition to a competition also being announced in which 5 lucky fans will win a shirt signed by the Real Madrid superstar.
The milestone will be highly appreciated by KONAMI who have really been pushing the social media side of gaming. KONAMI established the Social & Online Media Department early last year with just 1.6 million Facebook fans at the time. The division has been responsible for a 600 percent increase in monthly active users and also a 1,300 percent increase in monthly page views over the course of the past year.
A short while ago there was news that the 3G/WiFi version of the PlayStation Vita was canceled by online retailer and it seems that may have been a precursor for what was just announced today. The 3G version of the PlayStation Vita is actually now being given a launch bundle that not only is provided for the same price but also comes with a number of bonus goodies.
The 3G version will now be launched with a 8GB memory card that is $30 in value, an AT&T DataConnect Session Pass and an unnamed PlayStation Network game. The model is available for pre-order now at Amazon. It is interesting to see Sony create this bundle themselves, though this certainly does make the 3G version look a bit better than the original $250 WiFi only model.
Those who feel like they won’t be tough enough to face off against Blackwatch in Prototype 2 may want to pre-order the game from Best Buy because their pre-order bonus seems to make you completely invincible whenever you are in a military vehicle. I mean, sure you can tear people apart and absorb them but why not just run them over in a tank like in every other game right?
Either way, you can check out the video below where you can see Heller and his tank take tons of damage and keep going while also destroying everything in sight. Doesn’t quite have the same impact as destroying them with your own hands however.
In what has become a very disturbing trend, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning’s online pass will be locking out full story content from those who do not happen to pick up the game brand new or rent the title. To be more specific, the online pass for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning locks out the entire questline for the House of Valor faction.
The insert shown to the right shows that online pass owners will have access to “seven additional player quests” through the House of Valor faction questline, meaning that without the pass those quests are lost forever. This was shown in recent titles such as RAGE and Batman: Arkham City where no multiplayer did not hold back the companies from hiding content behind online pass systems…
Japanese gamers may be expecting Arc System Works’ Persona 4 based fighting game, Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena to be released to consoles sometime in the summer, however they won’t have to wait that long because Andriasang is reporting that the game will be available in Japanese arcades in “early March.”
This news comes Arc System Works themselves, so expect to see lots of Japanese gamers crowding arcades once gain to get an early chance to play this fighting game before it shows up for home purchase. Too bad the arcade scene in North America is pretty much dead, as it would be interesting to see arcade cabinets for these games being brought over for arcades in America as well.
… And those fighters are some very Capcom and Namco associated characters. The moment that you hear who they are, you will immediately think exactly the same thing. Both of these characters show a significant relevance to each company, even if they are not from the two series of fighters that are duking it out.
These two new characters? These iconic mascots? They are none other than Megaman (*Squee*) and Pac-Man! How iconic are these characters? If you answered with ‘The Most’ – then you would indeed be correct.
As a HUGE Megaman fan myself, I must say that grabbing a Playstation 3 is certainly high up on my list of things to do right now. So be sure to check out the trailer embedded below for more details.

Trion Worlds, the creators of the MMORPG Rift (as well as the upcoming multimedia project Defiance), have proposed a challenge to achieve a world record. The challenge? Get the highest number of players married in an MMORPG over a 24hour period.
Of course, this means that Rift is going to have an update to allow for players to marry in game, which, as far as I know, is a first for a western MMORPG. The event is set to take place on Valentines Day, which is the 14th of February (I had to look this up :P), and will begin at 9AM PST.
On the update, Trion had this to say –
“MMOs are the most fun when you’re playing with friends and loved ones,” said Scott Hartsman, Executive Producer, Rift, and Trion’s CCO. “Whether exploring Telara and adventuring with your significant other, or meeting up with geographically distant friends in a virtual pub, the MMO experience is about bringing people together, and our new weddings and gatherings exemplify this philosophy. We think the Valentine’s Day record attempt is a unique way for players to celebrate Rift’s spirit of camaraderie while making real-world history.”
When patch 1.7 goes live, players will be able to marry each other by visiting a Marriage Vendor and purchase a wedding ring to give to the player of your choosing. Trion also plans to have massive wedding ceremonies available for players to partake in with the bride and groom, as well as upto 200 of their personal friends, or guild mates, or randoms from tradechat.
Marriage in Telara is an equal opportunity venture, with any two consenting player characters able to wed regardless of character race or sex, with the sole restriction being that members of the opposing factions are unable to tie the knot. Any player with a Trion Account is eligible to take part in the event, and a Valentine’s Day-exclusive in-game title (“Tier of Knots”) will be awarded to each wedded character.
Be sure to check out the official site to purchase the game pr sign up for a trial in order to partake in this event.
