Welcome to the Manor | The Horror at Highrook Trailer

The wait is almost overDust off your potion book and pull out your cauldron in this crafting sim shopkeeper.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – February 13th, 2025 – Pebbles Games is proud to announce that Potion Shop Simulator will be available on Steam March 5th. Perfect for fantasy and simulation enthusiasts, Potion Shop Simulator offers a multiplayer co-op experience where sim and shop management come together. Players can immerse themselves in crafting potions, fulfilling town quests, and partaking in events to become the town’s loyal alchemist!

Leave Your Mark

Congratulations! After years of studying alchemy at Wizard U, you have finally become a true potion master and opened your very own potion shop. Roll up your sleeves and gather herbs from both near and far—you’re going to need them! Prepare to serve a magical clientele of various shapes and sizes, including orcs, goblins, satyrs, and more. While managing your shop and catering to the townsfolk, work with friends to maintain a positive shop ranking and become the most popular shopkeeper in town!

Get to Brewing!

The first rule to potion-making is that no two potions are ever crafted the same way! Experiment with different ways to combine ingredients and create new recipes. Aim for balanced ratios of elemental reagents to enhance the quality of your potions. Increasing reputation means attracting new customers. Ensure that your shop is always in top condition. Prepare for weekly inspector visits, as they will check that your shop meets the various needs of your customers. Stock up on potions to handle rush hours, doubling your sales. If you’re feeling a bit daring, consider haggling with a few customers for some added extra coins along the way. Most importantly, avoid leaving your shop unattended, as it could tarnish your reputation!

The Ever-Changing Town Mysteries & Events await

In the heart of a lively and sometimes, unruly town, there’s never a dull moment! While stirring your cauldrons, why not take on the main storyline quests? You’ll uncover the secrets left behind by the former owner and his trusty assistant of the old, dusty potion shop that once sat empty. Lend a helping hand in sidequests, where you’ll meet all sorts of quirky townsfolk, each with peculiar requests. Some might need Goblin Gut Soothers to ease their bellyaches, while others will ask for Orc Brews of Wisdom to sharpen their minds. You might even whip up elixirs to grant them night vision—just to name a few of the oddities you can expect! Don’t forget to check your calendar for weekly town events, such as market trends and tourist days when sailors come from all over for your renowned potions!

Create Your Dream Shop

When you grow weary of potion making, take a break to visit the town market. Stop by the decoration shop to purchase items that will brighten up your dwelling, increasing your shop’s appeal and attracting more distinguished customers. Visit the carpenter to upgrade your shop to add galleries or a new greenhouse next door. For all things herbology-related, head to the plant shop, where you can purchase new and mysterious plants that differ from the local plants you’re used to. Don’t forget to stop at the alchemy shop, where you will spend most of your time expanding your collection of tools, such as new mortars, distillers, and cauldrons, to continue improving your potions!

Gameplay Features:

  • A colorful medieval fantasy setting creates the perfect ambiance for potion-making, and an interactive world provides an immersive simulator experience.
  • Co-op mode for up to four players lets your friends join in on the fun! Tour the village, take care of plants, and experiment with different brews alongside your fellow alchemists.
  • The world is alive with dynamic events, featuring a day and night cycle that brings market days in town, a traveling merchant, market trends, royal commissions from the king, and more. Keep an eye on your calendar so you don’t miss a thing.
  • Improve your reputation by making and selling potions, and generate income to upgrade your shop’s aesthetics and efficiency. You can purchase additional items at the markets, from the traveling salesman, or at small shops downtown.
  • The discovery of new potions awaits, so experiment to progress through the game. The more you brew, the more you sell! So, get adventurous with your potion combinations.
  • 30+ main and side quests complete with missions designed to uncover the secret tales of the town and its mystical villagers

True to the tradition of detective games, The Ebbing challenges players with intricate puzzles, including numerical, visual, search, and combination-based riddles. The demo offers a first taste of these mind-bending challenges.

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, A Bavarian Tale, this new title brings a fresh atmospheric element to the series: mystery. Protagonist Valentin Schmidt finds himself entangled in a case full of eerie occurrences, leading him deep into a foreboding marshland, where he encounters a nameless terror. To match the heightened tension, the stealth mechanics have been completely overhauled.

At the same time, The Ebbing builds on the successful formula of A Bavarian Tale with engaging dialogues, quirky and humorous situations with eccentric NPCs, a complex, branching narrative with multiple endings, full voice and text support in both (Northern) German and English and a strong historical setting, deeply influenced by the 19th century

About Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing

In this detective RPG, players must unravel a web of intrigue, lies, and secrets surrounding a mysterious death.

The Year is 1870. The first transatlantic telegraph cable has just been installed, ushering in a new era of communication between the United States and Germany. Industrialization is accelerating, social movements are gaining momentum, and public discourse is filled with tension and unrest. Meanwhile, the Franco-Prussian War looms on the horizon, raising fears of military conscription.

Valentin Schmidt, a young civil servant, simply wants to enjoy his well-deserved vacation by the North Sea. After an eventful journey, he finally arrives in the picturesque town of Havstedt – but then, events take a dramatic turn: Bente Hansen’s body is found at the telegraph office.

Valentin’s vacation seems to be over… unless he solves the crime and restores safety to Havstedt. But he soon realizes that every faction of the idyllic town harbors its own dark, peculiar secrets. Who – or what – is responsible for Bente Hansen’s death?

Key Features

  • Explore an Open World – Roam freely through a detailed coastal town set in 1870.
  • Engage in deep Dialogues – Interrogate locals, gather valuable information, and uncover hidden truths.
  • Confront Suspects – Interrogate and expose those hiding secrets.
  • Search for Clues – Use the Detective Mode to uncover hidden evidence.
  • Don’t get caught – Sneak into forbidden areas and survive the dangers of the marsh—getting caught is not an option!
  • Solve Challenging Puzzles – Utilize hidden clues and your wit to unlock critical information.
  • Pass Skill Checks – Put your skills to the test in classic pen-and-paper-inspired dice rolls.
  • Level Up – Upgrade your character by improving skills that suit your playstyle.
  • Craft Useful Items – Gather resources to create tools and consumables that enhance your abilities.
  • Make Difficult Choices – Your decisions shape the story’s outcome. Choose between charisma, diplomacy, or authority—but solve the case at any cost!

The demo isn’t the only treat! New subscribers to the Inspector Schmidt newsletter will receive an exclusive character handbook – a valuable in-game notebook to keep track of clues and suspects. The handbook also includes historical insights on the NPCs and their real-life inspirations from the 19th century. Additionally, subscribers can take a personality quiz to discover which NPC archetype they resemble the most!

Dreams of Another announced in PlayStation State of Play!

12 FEBRUARY 2025 – Kyoto-based creative studio Q-Games has officially revealed Dreams of Another, the latest title by multimedia artist Baiyon, the director of PixelJunk Eden. The game was announced during PlayStation’s State of Play, with a trailer and accompanying message from Baiyon himself.

The game is built around the philosophical theme of “No Creation Without Destruction.” Rather than destroying objects by shooting, as in traditional shooting games, here, your shots materialize and create the world. This unconventional mechanic offers a gameplay experience that challenges the norms of the genre and invites players into a whole new dimension.

Dreams of Another is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 in 2025, with wishlist registration now open.

Key Features

  • Shooting Creates, not Destroys: An innovative gameplay mechanic that challenges traditional shooting conventions.
  • A Dreamlike World: Fantastical environments created using unique point cloud technology.
  • Mysterious Characters: Interact with intriguing personalities such as “The Man in Pajamas” and “The Wandering Soldier” in a poetic storyline.
  • Philosophical Themes: Witty thoughts of everyday objects highlight unconventional perspectives on societal norms.
  • Experimental Soundtrack: An emotionally stirring soundtrack crafted by director Baiyon himself.
  • PS VR2 Compatibility: Experience revolutionary point cloud gameplay in virtual reality.
  • Enhanced for PS5 Pro: Vivid and smooth point cloud visuals with high-resolution support.

Message from Director Baiyon

Hello to all the passionate game lovers out there! This is Baiyon.

Just like you, I truly love games. As a creator who works across various media, I’ve long been thinking: could I create a game that weaves in my deep love for videogames and allows us to share that passion together? The result of that journey is my latest game, Dreams of Another. By continuously exploring the forms and traditions that exist within games with great appreciation and respect, sometimes from completely different perspectives, even in reverse, I was able to create something truly exciting.

You destroy with a gun, yet in fact, you create. Like the strokes of a brush on a canvas, where each action brings something new into existence. I wanted to create a game that evokes this sensation, and through endless experimentation and careful adjustments with my team, it finally took shape.

For this project, I began by creating the concept from scratch. Along with the art and sound, I also took on the new challenge of creating the entire story, carefully crafting the dialogue for all the characters and objects, weaving in my doubts and struggles. The sentiments conveyed by the characters and objects in the game are like lyrics to me. I hope you’ll dive into the unique, cohesive experience that was crafted as I composed the music to resonate with them.

Baiyon’s profile

The Kyoto-based, Japanese multimedia artist, Baiyon is an active sound producer, creative director, art director, game designer and DJ. He is not bound to any single media. Having made his musical debut in 2004 with the film Moog, a documentary about the legendary synthesizer maker, he has since branched out to many different artistic endeavors.

His work includes original music releases and musical score collaborations in various mediums expanding on his unique musical style, remixing a wide range of music from the works of Chilean-born Techno/House music producer Ricardo Villalobos to the classic fighting game Street Fighter II.

Baiyon has run his own label, Descanso, for many years which has produced various releases. Baiyon has also released remixes from other labels and performed in live shows across the globe. He later went on to collaborate on video game projects with Q-Games as sound and art director with PixelJunk Eden (2008) and PixelJunk 4am (2012).

Quickly following this, he went on to compose for LittleBigPlanet 2 and was also named as one of Game Developer magazine’s fifty important figures in the gaming industry. Not to be tied down, Baiyon has had his storytelling designs featured in artworks and character designs along with various collaborations and has gained global media attention. He is also currently running his own apparel brand, “Whisper Not”.

In 2016, after 15 years as a freelance artist, Baiyon joined Q-Games to take on a role as creative director and worked as director of game, art and sound on Eden Obscura (2018) and PixelJunk Eden 2 (2020). He continues to apply his unique artistic sense to creating remarkable games.

Baiyon creates worlds that combine not only graphics and product design fused with music, but also visual arts that have achieved praise from all over the world.

It Is Never Too Late To Face The Frozen Apocalypse: Acclaimed Demo for Permafrost Challenges Survivalists

No patience to wait for Steam Next Fest? Jump into the demo for Permafrost right now!

Oberhaching, Germany, February 13, 2025 – While the gaming world looks with anticipation to the coming Steam Next Fest starting later in the month, there is still the chance to play one of the hottest demos on Steam. During the October edition of the demo event, the survival adventure Permafrost from development team SpaceRocket Games and publisher Toplitz Productions collected a ‘very positive’ rating from the Steam users for the trial version, which garnered more than 300.000 downloads so far.

Experience the fascination of Permafrost for yourself, when you brave bone-chilling temperatures in arctic-like conditions caused by a world-changing event that resulted in the almost complete extinction of the human race.
Grab your friends and enter the world of Permafrost with up to four players in cooperative multiplayer or take on the hostile environment all by yourself, just accompanied by your dog as a trusted companion.

Exploration, resourcefulness and the sheer will to survive will help you when you construct intricate shelters, cultivate crops to stave off hunger, and harness the power of technology to fend off threats both human and environmental. Be wary of the sub-zero temperatures and the effect they can have on your character’s capabilities, as you fight challenging conditions, hunt elusive prey and utilize salvaged machinery to craft the tools you need to combat the relentless winter.

But don’t wait too long. The closer we get to Permafrost’s release date set for later this year, the higher the chances that access to the demo will be discontinued.
Get ready to experience a modern post-apocalyptic setting, combining intricate resource management with deep survival mechanics, before it is too late.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Unveils its Historic Hero

Capcom provided the first extended look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword since its surprise reveal at The Game Awards. The new trailer unveiled the dark fantasy action game’s protagonist is none other than Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary figure in Japanese history. In Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Musashi is a fierce young samurai who, in a supernatural twist of fate, finds himself wielding an Oni Gauntlet and battling hordes of demonic Genma.

Musashi’s face is modeled after Toshiro Mifune, the late, iconic Japanese movie star who portrayed Musashi in classic samurai films. Onimusha: Way of the Sword takes place in Kyoto, which has been corrupted by malevolent clouds of Malice summoning Hell into the world of the living and plunging feudal Japan’s capital into chaos. Equipped with an Oni Gauntlet, Musashi is granted power beyond human limits allowing him to slay monstrosities from the underworld, including the destructive axe-wielding Byakue, whose power grows when it becomes soaked in its own blood.

The Onimusha series’ first new installment in nearly two decades, Onimusha: Way of the Sword pairs this rich blend of history and myth with cutting-edge combat. The game centers around satisfying sword-to-sword clashes with an emphasis on slicing through enemies and the tension of deciding when to absorb their souls in the heat of battle.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is launching worldwide in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Watch the new Onimusha: Way of the Sword story trailer below. 1047 Games Announces Splitgate 2 Open Alpha for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S – Alpha Dates Revealed Alongside New 24-Player Matches, Game Modes, Maps, & More

Portals Change Everything in Splitgate 2’s Playable Debut on Consoles, as Featured in the PlayStation State of Play Showcase

Zephyr Cove, NV (Feb. 12, 2025) – 1047 Games today revealed the PC and console open alpha for Splitgate 2, the portal-jumping FPS which massively expands on the series’ original vision and scale. Splitgate 2’s open alpha will run Feb. 27 through March 2, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, boasting a collection of new, never-before-seen game modes, maps, weapons, and more. Join in for Splitgate 2’s first-ever crossplay showdowns later this month ahead of the full game’s 2025 launch on PC (Steam/Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One & Series X|S consoles (https://www.splitgate.com/).

New Splitgate 2 footage featured in PlayStation’s State of Play showcase samples the suite of additions awaiting players in the PC and console open alpha. Catch an exciting glimpse at what FPS fans will portal into through Splitgate 2’s futuristic sport as the open alpha goes live on Feb. 27:

Splitgate 2’s PC and console open alpha includes:

All-New 24-Player Multi-Team Experience

  • Multi-Team Portal Warfare: Dash into three-team 8v8v8 matches for Splitgate’s biggest battles to date. Multi-Team Portal Warfare combines the fluidity of portal movement with an expansive playfield for a wealth of opportunities to get the upper hand on opponents, and will be playable in two modes:
  • Multi-Team Domination: Conquer and control four zones while shutting down opposing teams.
  • Multi-Team Hotzone: Battle to claim a central zone while keeping opponents off your throne.

All-New Game Modes

  • Splitball: This electrifying two-team arena mode combines the classic fun of Capture the Flag with the fast-paced strategy of Halo‘s Oddball, challenging rivals to master both offense and defense simultaneously. Portal-hop into enemy territory to steal Splitballs while defending a home base with precision and strategy.
  • Firecracker: Firecracker enhances the conventional two-team Search & Destroy match type with the addition of respawns. Attacking teams deploy to ignite a firecracker, and–if they can keep enemies at bay–fill the sky with fireworks while sending the crowd into a roar.

Thrilling New Maps

  • Glacier (8v8v8): This frozen battleground is 20x the size of any other map in Splitgate and is perfect for the new pace of action debuting in Multi-Team Portal Warfare. Glacier’s icy slopes let players chain speed from sliding with portal momentum, granting freedom to traverse quickly and flank opposing teams.
  • Bypass (4v4): This is Splitgate’s most vertical map yet, designed for high-flying plays. The tranquil park is trimmed with cafés, gondolas, and a breathtaking planetarium crowned with a centralized launchpad prime for mid-air ambushes. Master the heights, control the skies, and turn every vantage point into a tactical advantage.
  • Eden (4v4): Eden is packed with portal walls inside and out to give players endless opportunities to flank, escape, and dominate. This advanced dome simulation beautifies the Venusian hellscape while optimizing it for rapid-fire action. Utilize the new Launch Portal on Eden, a distinct fusion of a portal wall and launch pad that empowers daring aerial attacks and game-changing plays.

A Stockpile of Weapons, Equippable Gear, and More

  • Eight unique primary and secondary weapons across three factions, for a total of 24 base firearms. Pop a headshot with the Sabrask faction’s Goliath revolver, chip away at shields with the Meridian Phasma SMG, or send rivals to the spawn screen with the Aeros Blitz shotgun.
  • Nine pieces of equipment that deepen the strategic possibilities at hand, like the Aeros faction’s deploy-anywhere Porta-Portal.
  • Tide-turning power weapons stashed around each map.

Returning Classics (Improved Based on Community Feedback)

  • Team Deathmatch: Rounds are extended and a higher kill target has been implemented following the community’s response to the closed alpha.
  • Hotzone: Fight for control of the zone, this time without shared progression on captures.

And all the new content in Splitgate 2’s open alpha is still less than half the game…
