Nothing says information leak like a video game trailer released in German that reveals the release date of your game before the planned reveal time. Ubisoft has only currently set Far Cry 3’s release date as a very vague 2012, meaning it could be released anytime between now and December 31, 2012. However thanks to the leaked trailer it seems the game will be released September 6 in Europe or September 4 for North Americans.
The trailer with the leaked information has since been pulled down by Ubisoft though Joystiq still managed to grab the above image of the screen that provided all the information fans needed to know about the game’s release schedule.
While Capcom is known for their fighting series, one franchise has long been left in the cold much the the chagrin of fans of the series. I’m speaking of course about Darkstalkers, a fighting game series that has long been left in the dark, with no new game or even re-master in many years. However it seems that will all soon change as it has been discovered that Capcom has filed for a Darkstalkers trademark in Europe.
The trademark was filed yesterday, though no other information was given about the title at this time. Though given the fact that Street Fighter x Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono has encouraged fans to push for a new Darkstalkers game, fans will likely be happy even if the game is an updated port. We’ll let you know the minute more information is released, but for now you can still enjoy the classic Darkstalkers games that I’m sure you still own.
While Final Fantasy XIII-2 is great in a large number of aspects, one thing that it was severely lacking was a certain character with an afro and a baby chocobo. I’m speaking of course about Sazh, but it seems we won’t be without this favorite character for very long as Famitsu has revealed that Square Enix is planning on releasing a side story featuring him on February 28th.
The DLC is called Heads or Tails and will add Sazh’s side story as well as new games to the casino. The DLC for Sazh will cost $8 on the PlayStation 3 or 400 MSP for 360 owners. Currently Square Enix in North America has yet to give this DLC a release date, though one can expect a date in the near future. For those more interested in character costumes, Noel’s knight costume and Serah’s swimsuit costume will also be available on the Japanese marketplace sometime before the end of February.
Update: Square Enix in North America have announced that they are releasing the DLC to Western markets the same day as the Japanese release on February 28th. They have also released the below image of the costumes that will be available for download on that date.

Nothing says major game announcement like a financial call held at Ubisoft. Today during one such call which was hosted by company head Yves Guillemot the following words were spoken. “Assassin’s Creed 3 is the true next generation of both the Assassin’s Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general,” and he even went further to say that the game will be released on October 30 this year.
However that is unfortunately all we know about the title at this point. There was no explanation of the story, setting, characters or anything like that. He did however explain that he expects Assassin’s Creed 3 to sell far beyond the 7 million mark that Revelations hit and that the company is spending more money on Assassin’s Creed 3 than on any past title in the series. We’ll learn more in the coming months but for now celebrate as more Assassin’s Creed is coming your way.
Anytime you see a machine uprising there is always going to be some collateral damage to non-combatants. However one thing that is usually glossed over in any piece of human vs machine media is how it affects the children and those who try to still live out a normal life despite not being enlisted in the military.
In the video released today by Sega for their upcoming game, Binary Domain, we see Dan and Big Bo’ in the slums of Tokyo where the poor citizens are trying to make ends meet and make enough money to stay alive. This however leads to a difficult stand off as the two are faced with normal humans desperate to simply put food on the table. Check out the video below and you can even check out the demo which is available today on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
There are plenty of fighting games on the market today, but none of these titles can hold a candle to the type of fighting that can be found in the Tekken series. As such, it only seems logical that you should go pick up Tekken 3D Prime Edition for the Nintendo 3DS considering it was just released in stores yesterday.
Tekkn 3D Prime Edition offers quite a lot of content, with over forty different characters battling one another to make their way through the first 3D King of Iron Fist Tournament. Players can even collect Tekken cards from other nearby players via the StreetPass function of the 3DS. To sweeten the deal even more, Tekken 3D Prime Edition will also come with the full CG animated film Tekken: Blood Vengeance for your viewing enjoyment. In most stores Tekken 3D Prime Edition will run you $39.99.
What would a system launch be without some sort of amorphous blob ready to devour everything in sight? Well it wouldn’t be the launch of the PlayStation Vita considering DrinkBox Studios recently revealed that they will be releasing Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack in time for the official release date of the PlayStation Vita on February 21 and February 22nd.
To go along with the announcement of a release date, the studio also revealed a price so insanely low that the CEO of DrinkBox Studios is doing backflips. The price for the downloadable title will be only $7.99 in North America, with pricing for the rest of the world not yet determined.
