Real Racing 3 Announced

EA announced the follow up to the hit iOS racing series Real Racing. The Firemonkeys team has been hard at work to bring new licensed tracks and a huge new line up of real licensed vehicles. Major manufacturers such as Porsche, Dodge, and Audi will be represented with hand crafted graphics made to look photo realistic. The racing tracks will be modeled after famous real world race tracks such as Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Silverstone. Each race can support up to 22 cars per race.  There is no set date on the release of Real Racing 3.

The Infinity Project 2 Released

The Infinity Project 2 was released to the iTunes App Store today. The game is compatible with the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. The Infinity Project 2 is a first person shooter blending free roam and linear gameplay with a deep story line. Three game modes are available, Campaign Mode, Survival Mode, and Multiplayer. Campaign mode features eight plyable characters and four Human Augmentation Suits, while Survival Mode features ten unlockable survival levels where players will survive against infinite waves of enemies. Multiplayer features 11 playable characters, online leaderboards, and four player games via Game Center and 6 player games via local WiFi or Bluetooth connection. The Infinity Project 2 is available for $0.99 on iTunes here.

Carrot Watch! Released to iTunes

Bulkypix’s latest game was released to the iTunes App Store today. Carrot Watch! is an tower defense game starring innocent rabbits defending their precious carrots against the evil foxes. Players will be able to utilize ten different types of rabbit units such as the lady rabbit bait or the ninja rabbit to defend against ten different types of attacking fox units. There are plenty of abilities to assist players in defending the carrots, ranging from shaman spells to Rambo techniques. There are five worlds containing four levels each in Carrot Watch! It is available here for $0.99 on the iTunes App Store. Carrot Watch! is designed for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.

Stimulate that Grey Matter with Mensa Academy

Does Dr Kawashima just not do it for you anymore? Have his bizarre floating head and Nintendo exclusivity combined to leave you out of gaming based ways to try and be smarter? Well Square Enix think they have an alternative, with ‘the ultimate brain training game’ Mensa Academy.

Unless you are in dire need of this game then you’ve probably guessed that it has been created in collaboration with Mensa, the mysteriously well known society for people with superior digits in the IQ department. The game features three modes, Play, Coach and Test, providing a pretty self explanatory pathway to increased grey matter effectiveness. Play mode splits 100 levels into five categories – Numeracy, Language, Logic, Memory and Visual, with questions said to be inspired by ‘those attempting to join Mensa’.

Presumably that doesn’t include “Will you keep it a secret if I fail?”

PAL regions can already snap up the game on PC, Wii and 3DS, with a near future release scheduled on Android, iOS, Xbox 360 and PS3. The trailer below shows off a nice visual style, but most importantly has some rather funky music, click on!

InuYasha: The Final Act gets a North American release date

For many anime fans, including myself, InuYasha is the anime that drew them into the fold. However the original anime ended many years while the manga it was based off of kept going many years after that. Then in 2010 a new anime was made called, InuYasha: The Final Act which featured the closing chapters of the storyline in a 26 episode run.

Viz Media had previously acquired the license to release InuYasha: The Final Act in North America, however fans of the series have been left wondering exactly when they would see this release, as it is now two years after the series finished in Japan. Well today a listing appeared on Right Stuf stating that the first half of InuYasha: The Final Act will be released on November 20th on both Blu-ray and DVD, with the DVD version costing $44.99 and the Blu-ray running at $54.99. The title will feature both an English dub as well as the original Japanese dub for purists out there.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2’s reversible box art revealed

Reversible box arts are a wonderful thing. This is especially true for a fighting game where someone’s favorite character may not have made it on the main box-art, but is still shown on the flip side. Today Namco Bandai revealed that they will be giving Tekken Tag Tournament 2 the reversible box art treatment when it is released in North America.

The basic United States box art will simply feature Heihachi and Jin, while the the reverse side features Anna and Nina Williams, allowing gamers to pick whether or not they want to see two guys or two girls on the front of their game’s case.

Interstingly enough, Namco Bandai has also revealed that there will be a separate box art used for the Latin America version of the game, with the main image featuring King and Eddy Gordo while the flip side features Christie Monteiro and the new fighter Jaycee. Each box art can be seen below and those interested in picking up the title will be able to do so  once the game is released on the PS3 and 360 on September 11th and later in the year on the Wii U.

 

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed ‘Bonus Edition’ revealed

Today Sega revealed that Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be getting a “Bonus Edition/Limited Edition” Before you bust out your wallet and see how much more you’ll have to pay for this bonus edition of the game, don’t worry. The bonus edition will be given out to anyone who pre-orders the game at launch or likely anyone who buys the first printing of the game.

Either way, the bonus edition includes the OutRun racing level, a playable Metal Sonic character and vehicle as well as a “Emoticon Sticker Pack.” It is also worth noting that Sega has revealed Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed’s release date as well, with the 360, PS3 and Vita versions of the game to be released on November 15th, though the release date of the 3DS and PC versions have still not been announced.

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel announced by EA

Army of Two is a series that most people have probably forgotten by now and even if they do still remember the two games released under that name so far, they probably never ranked very high amongst the competition. Either way, it seems that EA is going to be making yet another Army of Two game for the 360 and PS3.

This time around it is going to be called Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel and it is going to be developed by Visceral Games with the use of the Frostbite 2 engine. Perhaps EA thought combining one of their best development teams with their best game engine would equal a great game. Either way, EA is stating that this title will “reset the series” and will have a “more intense, mature, and grittier tone.” The two soldiers will be fighting in a drug war in Mexico and will be able to make use of “the ability to unleash the power of ultimate destruction.”

Currently the title is set to be released sometime in March 2013 and hopefully we’ll hear some more news about the title soon, as it sounds awfully generic at the moment despite the heavy backing EA has thrown behind it.

Amaterasu’s rebirth shown in full HD glory in latest Okami HD trailer

Capcom released a new video today showing off probably one of the prettiest moments in Okami, Amaterasu’s rebirth from a stone statue at the beginning of the game. The video can check it out below in its full HD glory, showing just how impressive the already beautiful game looks with some modern day improvements.

Although the video itself is in Japanese, an English version is planned for release in North America sometime in the fall. When it is released it will be as a digital download only on the PlayStation Network and will feature updated graphics, Move compatibility and Trophy support for a price tag of only $19.99.

Today Ubisoft revealed a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed III and this time around it is focusing on the game’s new gameplay engine, AnvilNext. In the video below we will be shown some of the spectacular feats that this engine can perform to make Assassin’s Creed III unlike any of the other titles so far.

in fact, the company is stating that with the “revolutionary physics, animation and weather systems” the engine provides, players will experience an “unprecedented realism and a revamped combat system that delivers the most intense and vivid Assassin’s Creed experience to date.” Sounds like quite a promise… though we’ll see for ourselves once the title is released on October 30th.
