Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise available now

505 Games is excited to announce the launch of its latest game, Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise. But that’s not all. Along with the launch of Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, some interesting content is available for you to purchase to increase the cotton bath of destruction. Priced at 240 MSP is a neat little costume revolving around chainsaws and massacres. Yes, you get to relive some slicing and dicing from the 70’s in this DLC rendition appropriately named Paradise Island Chainsaw Massacre for Xbox Live. Don’t fret Playstation lovers, Teddy Krubear will be making an appearance on the Playstation Network for a mere $2.99. Additionally, the Greek god of thunder plays a role in another part of DLC as Mjolnpaw is a mighty hammer that only Naughty can wield for 80 MSP ($0.99).

Grapple Knight Takes on Steam Greenlight

Indie game Grapple Knight (a game we’ve written about in the past) has been released on Steam Greenlight to a warm welcome, as well as having its first major update since its release.

The game went up on Steam Greenlight a few days ago, and has had quite a bit of attention since then with most of it being support or helpful comments. If it does get enough ratings up then that means it’ll be able to be launched on Steam, so if Grapple Knight looks like something that you’re interested in then you should definitely take the time to check out their Steam Greenlight page and vote them up!

And with the game receiving its first major update, and people at the EB Expo enjoying having a play of it in the Homegrown Gaming section, it certainly seems worth it.

Check out the debut trailer of Grapple Knight below!

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Launch Party Shenanigans

xcom-enemy-unknown-launch-event-004

Last night 2k Games threw a launch event for XCOM: Enemy Unknown and it was totally out of this world. Kicking off in the city we were driven by shuttle to an ‘undisclosed location’, that happened to be in the middle of a bunch of warehouses. Usually this sort of area would be prime territory for a high level of crime, which I guess is the point, but once we got into the warehouse the awesomeness took over. Previews of the game were playable amongst collages of UFO sightings, fake body parts, and the like.

As for the game itself, it has a good story line and atmosphere, but might suffer a lack of interest from your average gamer due to the patience and tactics required. However, if you’re a fan of turn-based, strategy games that need more from you than just pointing and shooting. The graphics leave something to be desired, but that was on a large TV screen on an Xbox 360, and if you’re after a PC copy it will probably look better.

With some competition winners in attendance as well, 2k Games really threw a good party with some awesome themed cocktails and food.

Make sure to check out the gallery below with some of the awesome pics we snapped of the event.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is available in Australia and New Zealand this Friday, October 12th on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Team Ninja thanks fans with their last Dead or Alive 5 Fighter Chronicle video

For some companies, once the game has hit store shelves, the developers either take it easy, or begin working on post launch DLC and bug fixes. While Team Ninja is already hard at work releasing free costume DLC, such as the one shown above, and possibly working on various patches, they also took the time to release their final Fighter Chronicles video to thank their fans for picking up Dead or Alive 5 and supporting the series.

The video itself can be seen below and is actually quite humbling considering how most developers are usually trying to tout various scores and figures around rather than honestly thanking their fans.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories goes down under in November

If you happen to live in the land down under, (American speak for Australia) then you will be happy to hear that Konami’s Silent Hill: Book of Memories finally has a release date down in your country. PlayStation Vita owners will be able to pick up this unique take on the series on November 8th.

As for the game itself, Silent Hill: Book of Memories introduces the first ever multiplayer aspects to a Silent Hill game, as well as customizable characters where the game is more action-exploration oriented than survival horror. The story revolves around a book that the player receives that can change the past.

Hitman: Absolution’s storytelling explained in latest dev diary

When players are given a chance to play as one of the deadliest assassins in the world, most of them spend time figuring out all the neat little ways they can go about killing everyone in the area with every tool at their disposal. But before you do that, perhaps you should remember that there is a story to be told in Square Enix’s Hitman: Absolution and this latest developer diary tells you exactly how they managed to create an immersive storyline to surround all of the deathdealing.

They also demonstrate a full performance motion capture at Giant Studios in Los Angeles, California and how they had to create some new smoking techniques for one of the characters in the game. Check out the video itself below.

This content has players unlocking a new costume for The Hulk in Avengers Initiative, as well as a chance to unlock everybodies (including my own) favourite merc-with-a-mouth Deadpool for Avengers Alliance on Facebook.
