Gotham City Impostors goes Free-To-Play

Coming straight to your PC via Steamworks is a free-to-play version of Gotham City Impostors. For those that like to play dress up in Batman and Joker outfits this is definitely an unique title that will grab your immaturity and run rampant with it.

Today, Warner Bros. Games in junction with DC Universe and Monolith Productions unleashed a free-to-play trailer to entice your taste buds with a load of insanity. This trailer emphasizes the game’s wide arrangement of customization and character development. No longer is there a definitive line between good and evil. Gotham City will never be the same.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know if it “puts a smile on that face”. To download Gotham City Impostors click (here).

Want more Trine 2? Goblin Menace Arrives Soon!

The lovely Trine 2 will soon find itself with some more downloadable content on the PC and Mac versions of the game. Coming via Steam on September 6 is Trine 2: Goblin Menace, an expansion that comes complete with a 2GB patch!

The actual expansion will bring a new campaign that spans six fresh levels, with the patch making sure that the new content functions correctly with the multiplayer aspect of the game. Several minor fixes will also be included, including a multiplayer indicator to flag the location of other players -most useful indeed.

The new campaign will also unlock new skills for the characters that can even be used in the original game, no doubt opening up entirely new takes on many of the puzzles.  As always with Trine 2 the screenshots released look utterly gorgeous, so be sure and check out the Gamescom trailer for Goblin Menace that is attached below.

Owners of the Trine 2 Collector’s Edition can already gain access to a beta version of the update which will allow them to play the first two levels of Goblin Menace. As always game developers Frozenbyte were keen to emphasise their determination to reward fans of the series whilst producing the best content possible:

“We wanted to give our loyal fans something extra and also get some early
feedback before the official launch. The Goblin Menace is compatible with
the original Trine 2 in multiplayer, and this is one of the areas we want to
focus on during the beta test. We’ve been working on the Goblin Menace for
almost a year and are very proud of it. We can’t wait for all the feedback!”

The free beta will come to a close when the expansion is released on September 6. From that date the pack will retail for $7.99, with a small discount for early purchasers – the actual amount is yet to be revealed. Trine 2 is also due to make an appearance on the Wii U, and the Goblin Menace expansion will be included with the Director’s Cut edition of the game for Nintendo’s up and coming console. The price and release date for the Wii U version are yet to be announced.

Sega and Gearbox Software has revealed a brand new multiplayer mode for Aliens: Colonial Marines which they are simply calling “Escape Mode.” In this mode players will be split into a team of four marines and four Xenomorphs and each will have a certain task. For the Marines, it is escape, for the Xenomorphs, it is killing the Marines.

This mode has quite a few similarities to another title featuring four humans and four special creatures trying to kill them, with Xenomorphs coming in three different flavors, Soldier, Lurker and Spitter, but boy does it look exciting and well done according to the video of the mode which can be seen below.

Borderlands 2 Season Pass announced and priced

With post-release DLC becoming a standard practice, often to the joy of consumers, it has also become quite popular in the last couple of years to release a season pass for all the content, allowing consumers to buy all of the DLC early for a cheaper price. Of course this does have its drawbacks for consumers, as details about future DLC is usually scarce so some of it may not appeal to the buyer.

Either way, today Gearbox Software and 2K games revealed that they are going to be bringing out four DLC campaigns after Borderlands 2 is released and each of them is going to cost $10 or 800 MSP. This means that if you were to buy the online pass for its price of only $30 or 2400 MSP you will be saving $10 on the four packs as they are released.
