While the PlayStation Store revamp has had a number of issues, with the launch of the new look delayed indefinitely in most regions and taken down in others, apparently the European version of the store has just went live and may be actually staying up this time around.
PlayStation Europe has tweeted that the new PlayStation Store is now live across all EU territories so this means that anyone in those regions can now complain about having to deal with an unwieldy change that no one seemed to have wanted in the first place. Anyone in Europe believe that this new store is better than the last?
Fresh off of the back of Micheal Fassbender being attached to the project, so New Regency and Ubisofthave announced today that they will be partnering together for the upcoming Assassins Creed movie. The development of the screenplay is set to begin immediately with both studios trying to fast track its development, so far no clear details have been given as to what we can expect from the movie, but with the addition of Michael Fassbender (Prometheus and X-men: First Class) as well as New Regency (Fight Club, JFK and Mr and Mrs Smith) it looks set to be on to watch.
Here is what Ubisoft Motion Pictures, CEO, Jean-Julien Baronnet had to say on the partnership
“Ubisoft chose to partner with New Regency because they are a talent- and filmmaker-driven company, with the same independent and creative mindset that we have at Ubisoft Motion Pictures. Bringing aboard New Regency’s renowned production and distribution expertise while maintaining our own creative and financial flexibility ensures that Assassin’s Creed will be a high-quality film that respects the lore and fans of the video game franchise.”
Ubisoft Motion Pictures was created in January 2011 to expand the audience of Ubisoft’s already successful IP, through a variety of mediums beyond video games such as TV and film. Aside from the upcoming Assassins Creed film they are also working on two movies based in the Tom Clancy universe, one being a Splinter Cell movie, and the other being based on Ghost Recon.
Be sure to check back in the future as more names are attached to this project.
The Penny Arcade Expo otherwise known as PAX is now one step further in its goal for total world domination after the announcement of a new event in Australia. This is the third PAX event to be launched after PAX East and the following PAX Prime. PAX Australia will be held in Melbourne for 2013 and 2014, with the potential for it to potentially change location after this period (Sydney anyone?).
Penny Arcade President Robert Khoo said the demands of the global community dictated the expansion to Australia. “When we reached out to our international fans, the response from the Australian community for a local PAX was overwhelming,” Mr Khoo said.
“Melbourne has a long history of supporting the games scene, through showcasing cultural game exhibits to supporting world renowned game developers. Holding PAX Australia in Melbourne is the perfect fit for our show.”
PAX Australia will be held from the 19-21 July at the Melbourne Showgrounds, for more details check out the official PAX Australia site. PAX Australia will coincide with San Diego Comic Con, so this should stop hordes of Americans from flying over in search of nerdom.

There has been little news about BioShock Infinite in recent months, in fact many people were starting to grow concerned about the title after almost a year went by with no mention of the game. However over the last couple of days a special edition of the game was announced and today Irrational has released a special new trailer for the game.
The trailer, which can be seen below, is called “Beast of America” and it shows off plenty of gameplay set to some rather awesome background music, plus the video also provides a confirmed release date of February 26th for each version of the game.
While little is actually known about what Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will entail, BioWare had a few pieces of concept art to show off over the course of the weekend and you can now check out these three pieces of artwork below.
The artwork shows off three vastly different areas, such as a mountain castle, a vast plain and a decrepit looking ruin that may be in the final version of the game when it is released sometime late next year. However if all three are included as dungeons then Dragon Age 3 already has more dungeon variety than Dragon Age 2 had.
