Devil May Cry fans will likely be feeling many joyful emotions, or many depressing ones, at this latest announcement. Capcom are planning to release a DLC update for the upcoming DmC Devil May Cry game (releasing January 15) featuring Dantes brother Vergil. This is to be titled Vergil’s Downfall and will have players playing as the named title character.
The DLC will be available for player to pick up shortly after the game launches on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. It is set to be priced at 720MSP and €8.99 / £7.29 on PlayStation Network. An email sent to us by Capcom Europe has also stated that this content will not be locked on-disc content; which is nice to hear Capcom finally saying.
Magi: Labyrinth of Magic has been a manga property that has been in the market for an anime adaptation for quite some time now. It’s truly a shame that the studio handling the production of this anime adaptation is A-1 Pictures, a studio notorious for their sloppy animation work. With numerous animation errors noted with Sword Art Online, it should come as no surprise that their adaptation of Magi has been plagued with similar issues both story-wise and animation-wise.
The most recent mistake in production occurred in episode 6 of Magi. In one particular scene there is clearly conceptual sketches visible. This is an amateur mistake by any studios standard and is something that should have been cleaned up in final production on the episode, however it was not and as you can see in the image above (besides the mans head on the cave wall), was left in the final product.
Besides that most recent error, previous episodes have featured character seemingly completely disappearing although we see them collapse, only to go missing in the background for the next 15 minutes, suddenly to reappear at the end of the episode. Another mistake was a character whom had been hit by a number of arrows, suddenly having no arrows or wounds in the very next scene. These are of course very amateurish mistakes and leave many puzzled as to what exactly is going on. It’s simply sloppy animation work.
In terms of the story-line there has been many anime only viewers rather confused as so much has been omitted from the original manga that there is noticeable cutting between episodes that leaves the feeling of having missed a lot of content. In the most recent episode, two characters comment on meeting Aladdin before he met Alibaba, an event that was not at all explored or shown in the series, leaving us to wonder what his connection with them is.
All of this does not bode well for A-1 Pictures, a studio already burdened with a reputation for lazy and sloppy work. This Magi news only adds further fuel to the negative reputation this studio has built for themselves.

That’s right Dragon Ball fans, the upcoming hotly anticipated 2013 Dragon Ball Z film now has an official title. Although originally speculated to simply be the films tag-line we can now confirm that the films complete title has been revealed.
The film will be titled Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. It is slated for a release in 2013 and will take place between the 10 year time skip after the defeat of Buu and the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Goku and friends will literally battle against gods and judging by the visual art that has been revealed for the film, those gods will be of the Egyptian variety.

Ayopa game’s new retro music adventure was dated for an iOS to hit the iTunes App Store on Thursday, November 15th. Arranger features an interactive soundtrack by Arman Bohn who previously played with many Death Cab for Cutie members back when they were part of a band called Eureka Farm.
Arranger is set in a huge retro world inspired by Legend of Zelda of the NES era. It is filled with arcade style mini games and interactive puzzles that players will need to complete and 16 different instruments resulting in over 5000 combat combinations will need to be mastered in combat. The game is optimized for the iPhone 5 and a soundtrack will be released soon. Arranger will cost $0.99.
With the release of Hitman: Absolution a little over a week away Square Enix and IO Interactive have released a new video in the ICA file series and this time around the file is on none other than Agent 47 himself. The file provides some background story on 47’s back story as well as why the agency has set out to kill him.
The video can be seen below while Hitman: Absolution itself will hit store shelves on November 20th around the world on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Gamers still have the opportunity to pre-order the game and acquire the Sniper Challenge bonus which can unlock early access to some perks in the main game.
Today a few new pieces of information for Kadokawa Games and Experience’s Demon Gaze and to accompany this new information we have some gameplay footage and new screenshots and artwork for the game as well. Now Demon Gaze is going to take place thousands of years after the events of Students of the Round and while the game does take place in the same world as the aforementioned game, there are new dungeons to explore and new creatures to fight and apparently an underwear loving cat girl seen in the screenshots below.
There are also some creatures you can fight that, when defeated, can be summoned later in battle for assistance. The trailer and gameplay footage can be seen below, though it is worth noting that over half of the gameplay video is the team discussing parts of the game. Currently Demon Gaze is set for a release date of January 24th in Japan and there has been no mention of a Western release.
Today Square Enix revealed a special Collector’s Edition that will be released for Crystam Dynamics’ Tomb Raider game alongside the standard edition when it hits stores on March 5th next year. As you can see above (click the image for the high-res version) this Collector’s Edition includes quite a lot of bang for it’s $99.99 price tag.
The package will include an 8″ Play Arts Lara Croft Figurine which also comes with a bow and arrow, shotgun, handgun, ice axe and three different hand shapes, a double sided island map and poster, a special 5″ x 7″ lithograph of Lara Croft, a physical soundtrack containing 10 musical tracks, three Experience Shield badges that gamers can iron on to clothing as well as a DLC code for a weapon pack all bundled in a neat Endurance survival tin.
As for European fans, they can pick up the Survival Edition which includes an art book, a waterproof survival pouch, the map, soundtrack and DLC or they can pay extra for the European Collector’s Edition which contains the survival bonuses as well as the tin and Lara Croft figurine.
While everyone is free to choose whether they want this special edition or not, this one certainly seems like it is worth the money thanks to the inclusion of the Lara Croft figure, but to each their own.
If you happen to be a fan of Square Enix and puzzle games as well as a subscriber to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service in North America then we have some good news for you. Today it was revealed that Quantum Conundrum will be free tomorrow after the PlayStation Store performs it’s weekly update.
Outside of the free Quantum Conundrum download, Machinarium will also be given a 30% drop in price to only $6.99. Sony also took this opportunity to tease some “exciting news” for PlayStation Plus members which will be arriving just “around the corner.” As for what this news may be, it will likely involve the previously announced PlayStation Plus on PS Vita’s launch date.
As you may know, Namco Bandai has been doing something quite rare in the game industry by providing a few downloadable characters for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for free. Now while the first three characters: Slim Bob, Sebastian and Miharu have already been released, we have had no release date for the rest of the free characters.
Well today it was revealed that tomorrow on November 13th the PlayStation 3 version of the game will receive three free characters in the form of Dr. Boskonovitch, Unknown and Violet. Currently no release date has been given for the 360 version of these characters, though they may be available as soon as this Wednesday. It is worth noting that the various pre-order characters Ancient Ogre, Angel, Michelle Chang and Kunimitsu will also be released for free sometime in the future
