Indie Spotlight – Hartacon Tactics

Hartacon-Tactics-Logo-01

Hitting the spotlight this week for independent games is an upcoming title called Hartacon Tactics. This title has been the sole creation of developer code named Charlie Fleed. The title is explained to be an online multiplayer strategy RPG where players fight in a turn-based battle system. With this being the basis for Charlie’s game, it would be hard not to be intrigued. However, Charlie Fleed is in need of a graphic artist(s) to assist him in the creation of sprites to fit within the game’s RPG atmosphere.

Created with XNA 4, Hartacon Tactics will be solely released on the Xbox Live platform in the independent games section. Fleed has noted in his gameplay preview that he would be inclined to release a PC version of the title considering the popularity its receives on the Xbox Live marketplace.

Take a look at the gameplay preview below and stop by the Hartacon Tactics Indiegogo Page where he is asking for donations to help pay for the graphic artist.

New Ni no Kuni behind-the-scenes video released amidst European delay

Ni-no-Kuni-Wrath-of-the-White-Witch-delay

We have some good news and some bad news, at least for some of you. Today Namco Bandai released the third developer diary for Level-5′s Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. The developer diary this time around focuses on how the music of the game is just as important as the story and visuals. As such they have worked hard to make sure Joe Hisaishi (famous composer of Studio Ghibli’s movies) came back to work on the soundtrack of the game.

That being said, it seems that, thanks to “logistics delays” the European release of Ni No Kuni has been delayed from January 25th to February 1st instead. This isn’t too much of a delay, only one week, and to make up for it Namco will be offering a “free gift to download” for everyone. What the download will be is currently unknown, but it is worth noting that this delay will only affect Europe, as the North American release is still scheduled for January 22nd.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is set for release on March 15th and is the only multi-platform gaming experience centred solely around being a Sniper. Running on the impressive CryENGINE3, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 will feature many stunning environments and gorgeous vistas for players to explore and fight in. Also including some much enhanced (and needed) AI, the returning One-Shot-One-Kill experience and challenges that only an expert marksman could complete, all eyes are on City Interactive to deliver on their promise of a gritty, fun sharpshooting experience. You’ve probably heard of CyberConnect2 thanks to a number of titles they’ve handled for other companies, such as Asura’s Wrath for Capcom, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 for Namco and even the latest JoJo’s game for Namco, but they’ve made a few original games in the past as well, such as Solatoroba.

Now it seems that CyberConnect2 is branching off of franchise games a little bit as Siliconera has found that the company is working on three original titles that aren’t based off of any existing franchise. President of CyberConnect2, Hiroshi Matsuyama, explained that these three games are planned for release sometime in 2013, however he could not provide any extra details at this point.
