First Look: Dusty Revenge

dusty-revenge-01

Here at Capsule, we get pretty excited when we hear about any fresh and upcoming IP, and a group of currently unnamed developers have shared the concept with us for Dusty Revenge – a platformer with a killer art style and comic-based story.

From the looks of it, this title features a rabbit donning the name Dusty, who has taken the role of hero as he tries to take down a giant, evil pig. I know, it’s really early for this one, but you can check out the comic that features the premise here, and rest assured that once we get more information on this charming little romp, we will be sure to bring out an update.

Toki Tori 2 May be a Bit of a Metroidvania

toki-tori-map-01

It’s funny how two franchises came together to set the standard for a genre, while still remaining a crowd favorite when it comes to almost all 2D platformers out there. Toki Tori 2 looks to carry on with tradition and add a level of open exploration for players, as a recent blog has been posted by the developers describing how this game will work in terms of progression.

Here is a brief snippet:

unknowingly we may have just made a Metroidvania with a twist! We have a 2D side scrolling game with alternative paths, a worldmap that marks where you’ve been, and a story that encourages backtracking and revisiting of previous areas. The big difference is, we don’t unlock items but knowledge about the game world to let players progress.

That should get all of you Wii U owners even more excited, as having a modern take on classic design is something we need to see, and what Toki Tori 2 is going deliver when it comes to the service this Thursday, April 4th. Keep an eye out then, as our own review will be up, but you should check out the full blog here to hold you over for the time being from Two Tribes.

The latest DLC pack for Borderlands 2 has just been released and this time around developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2k Games have raised the level cap and added a brand new tier of weapons for players to get with the “Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack”. Those players that have the Borderlands 2 Season Pass needn’t worry about cost though as the new DLC is included.

Raising the level cap from 50 to 61, players that have found themselves sitting at max level without much to do now can find a lot more with the DLC. The new pearlescent-colored weapon tier and E-Tech relics also provides Vault Hunters with much better gear for players to seek out in-game.

Worried about enemies not being able to match up? An update released alongside the DLC provides a few more options for players with or without the DLC especially the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, a third play mode specifically geared towards the highest level vault hunters. Other additions from the update include new items from the Black Market from more storage space to ammo upgrades, increasing the max Eridium players can hold, and bug fixes.

Those that don’t have the Borderlands 2 Season Pass can get the “Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack” for 400 MS Points for Xbox 360 or $4.99 for PC and PS3. Those with the Season Pass can download it for free, as well as expect a fourth campaign add-on by June. Players can also check out the screenshots in the gallery below to see some of the new additions of the DLC in action.

Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory Announced

finding-dory-logo-01

Disney and Pixar have announced today that it will be releasing a sequel to the 2003 hit Finding Nemo. The film is called Finding Dory and is set to be released in 2015.

Often teased by Ellen Degeneres who provided the voice of Dory in the first film and is reprising the role in the sequel, the film is set roughly a year after the events of the first one and centers around the Blue Tang Dory on her own adventure to reunite with her loved one whilst learning about the meaning of family along the way. An excited Ellen Degeneres had this to say about the announcement:

“I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time…I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”

Parts of the film will take place around the California coast line and Nemo, Marlin, the Tank Gang from the dentists office and other recognizable characters from the first film are all set to return. Andrew Stanton who directed the first film is also making a return to the series.

Will you be helping to find Dory when this film hits the box office in 2015? Let us know in the comments below.

Stinky Footboard Starts Kickstarter Campaign

Stinky-Footboard-Campaign

The Stinky footboard is a controller which is controlled by the feet. The innovative pedal controller goes live today on Kickstarter with a goal of $75,000.

As it says on the Kickstarter page

Our innovative technology allows for lightning-quick action with precise control all the while keeping your foot resting on the footboard in a relaxed, natural position. This means more functionality; improved gameplay, enhanced performance; and increased actions per minute (APM), all while keeping control and your fingers on the action.

Benefits of the Stinkyboard controller include:

  • Allows simultaneous actions such as in FPS games players can strafe, change guns and throw a grenade without taking their fingers off the AWSD keys
  • Increases actions per minute (APMs) for RTS gamers
  • Makes it easier to access additional key bindings for MMO players
  • Shaves precious seconds off for eSports players
  • Simplifies controls for beginners

The Stinky footboard offers plenty of customization for gamers and could indeed be used for many games. For example, an alternative pedal mechanism in racing games, or to assign kick combos in fighting games or action games. All in all, quite useful!

Pre-orders for the Footboard can be placed via their Kickstarter page. The controller will be available for sale in June for $119.

The Video can be seen below.
