BANDAI NAMCO UNVEILS NEW ROGUELITE TOWA AND THE GUARDIANS OF THE SACRED TREE, Arriving SEPTEMBER 2025

Forge weapons and bonds to stand the test of time in a new action-adventure set in a vibrant world filled with beauty and danger

The world hangs in the balance as the evil Magatsu threatens the land with just the young priestess Towa and her eight companions standing in his way. Developed by Brownies inc., and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, the vibrant world of TOWA AND THE GUARDIANS OF THE SACRED TREE comes to life as a 2D isometric roguelite. The game was revealed at Summer Game Fest and is coming on September 19, 2025 to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™, and PC via Steam® and is now available to pre-order.

TOWA AND THE GUARDIANS OF THE SACRED TREE features engaging game play with fast-paced action, gorgeous characters in a hand-drawn style and stunning scenery reminiscing of the warmth of Japanese ink painting, and a unique soundtrack by composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. These come together to create a colorful world where visually peaceful splendor belies a lurking threat, and where courage is the only way forward. Set in a distant land, the tranquil village of Shinju is threatened by the evil Magatsu’s quest for domination. Towa, the priestess of Shinju Village, stands united with eight unique, trustworthy companions to defeat Magatsu and his evil minions.

Players choose two Guardians to venture on each quest – one guardian wields the power of the sacred sword called Tsurugi and the other is the bearer of the magical staff Kagura. Each guardian has unique skillsets that can be unlocked and upgraded both inside the dungeons and through a meta-progression in the hub world of Shinju Village. Beyond each Guardian’s abilities, players can find various crafting materials to forge and upgrade their swords, making each combat style and guardian pair unique. As the guardians pursue their quests across different timelines, the village will evolve over the years. Players develop unique bonds with residents and learn more about their customs and stories that are woven into the inner workings of the village. Ultimately, they must fight together through these colorful lands, conquer dungeons, and defeat Magatsu’s minions to restore peace to the land.

TOWA AND THE GUARDIANS OF THE SACRED TREE is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 19, 2025.

Be Water, My Friend: Fading Echo Shifts, Reacts, Flows, and Crashes Onto the Scene

Harness the Power of Æther to Become Water Itself! Flow and Crash Through the Stunning Vistas of Fading Echoes as you Unravel the History of a Shattered Planet and Fight For a Better Future.

New Tales and Emeteria unveil their First Original Action-Adventure: a Fluid, Form-shifting Journey Coming in 2026 to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Paris, France – June 7, 2025New Tales and Emeteria made their public debut with Fading Echo, revealed for the first time during the Future Games Show — and yes, it made some waves! Currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Fading Echo is built on a simple idea: movement, combat, and enigmas can all flow from the same source.

The first trailer is now available to watch below. And if you have seen it… well, feel free to watch it again. It’s really good. (We’re not totally biased.)

 A Journey Through Fluid Gameplay

In Fading Echo, you play as One, a young Legend who shifts between human and aquatic forms to explore, fight, and adapt across ever-changing realities. From gliding through pipes as a droplet to crashing down as a water bomb, movement becomes your greatest tool — and your sharpest weapon.

Time’s unraveling, and One’s running out of track. To save what’s left of her world, she’ll need to reboot the Ætheric flow, kick the heart of a broken bastion back to life, and crack open the secrets festering in her own bloodline. Reality is fracturing fast, and the truth might be tucked into a legacy she barely understands. Oh, and there’s a flying whale, sort of… we call it the Last Wonder. Just roll with it.

The game is built around systemic interactions, where water, vapor (steam), and elemental forces collide in unexpected ways. Each ability opens up new tactical options — casting crushing waves, unleashing powerful close-range attacks, and evolving your playstyle as you unlock new skills. Master the shift between offense, tactics, and exploration to shape how you approach each encounter. Thankfully, your hero knows how to go with the flow — quite literally.

A Living, Systemic World

The Echoverse is a fractured multiverse made up of many shifting worlds — and Corel is one of them. It’s the starting point of your journey: a mysterious planet where ancient ruins, unstable portals, and strange forces collide.

Across the Echoverse, each zone rewrites the rules. Portals distort logic, surroundings evolve, and no two areas behave the same way. The world shifts in a challenging way, forcing you to adapt, experiment, and occasionally just go with the flow.

The game’s comic-inspired art direction reinforces this sense of instability and wonder, turning each zone into a striking, unpredictable space where style meets surprise.

We didn’t want to make a backdrop — we wanted to make a world you can mess with,” says Sylvain Sechi, Head of Studio at Emeteria. “Fading Echo is a game where creativity, curiosity, and a little recklessness are always rewarded.

“Fading Echo is our first fully internal project, and I couldn’t be prouder of what the Emeteria team has built. It’s a fresh and exciting start for us, and a great testimony to the kind of games we want to make.” added Cédric Maréchal, co-founder and CEO at New Tales.

To bring even more life into the vibrant world of Correl, Fading Echo will feature full English voiceover, brought to life by a cast of ridiculously talented (and, frankly, adorable) people — including Samantha Béart, Jasmine Bhullar, Laura Bailey, and Matt Mercer, among others.

We’ve been incredibly fortunate. What started as a bold indie adventure somehow brought together world-class voice talents, a brilliant composer, and an extraordinary writer. I think they saw the spark in our vision and just said, ‘Let’s do this… but seriously, stop chasing me every day.’” concluded Emmanuel Obert, co-founder and CCO at New Tales.

Rebuild, Upgrade, Survive — Jupiter Junkworks Announced for Steam

Melbourne, Australia – June 8, 2025 | Announced in the Frosty Games Fest, Melbourne-based studio Pixel Drake has announced their upcoming arcade sci-fi puzzle game Jupiter Junkworks is launching on PC (via Steam) in 2026, with an Early Access launch slated for late 2025. A demo is also available to download now in time for Steam Next Fest.

In Jupiter Junkworks, complete contracts to earn resources, rebuild a run-down spaceship junkyard, and unlock upgrades. Dive into a sci-fi narrative campaign where an unlikely trio of travelers from far corners of the solar system must learn to work together. But unknown to them, something awaits beyond the vault.

Set in a high-tech future among Jupiter’s moons, the story follows Ryla, Grant, and Jun—a misfit trio from vastly different corners of the solar system. After an unexpected twist of fate leaves them broke and stuck with a run-down spaceship salvage yard, they’ll have to work through their differences and pool their skills to turn Jupiter Junkworks into something worth fighting for.

“Jupiter Junkworks is our debut title and we’re extremely excited to share what we’ve been working on with everyone,” shared Pixel Drake founder Will Deragon. “This demo release marks the first time the full team’s work will be in-game and it is amazing to see how each member’s unique style and flair have come together. For many of the team, this is their first time working on a game professionally, so it is quite surreal to see it now being available on Steam. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come and can’t wait to continue building our final vision and sharing the trio’s story with the world. And none of this could’ve happened without the support of Screen Australia, who we are deeply grateful to.”

Jupiter Junkworks is launching in 2026 on PC (via Steam), with an Early Access launch slated for later this year, and a demo available to download now on Steam. For future updates, you can follow Pixel Drake on X @pixel_drake and BlueskyCheck out the Steam Page

About Jupiter Junkworks

Set in a high-tech future among Jupiter’s moons, the story follows Ryla, Grant, and Jun—a misfit trio from vastly different corners of the solar system. After an unexpected twist of fate leaves them broke and stuck with a run-down spaceship salvage yard, they’ll have to work through their differences and pool their skills to turn Jupiter Junkworks into something worth fighting for.

As you progress, you’ll uncover secrets about their pasts, their motivations, and maybe even why the junkyard’s last owner vanished without a trace.Arcade Puzzle Action

Fast, strategic, and satisfyingly crunchy—Jupiter Junkworks brings classic arcade puzzle vibes with a fresh sci-fi twist. Complete contracts to earn resources and unlock upgrades in both gameplay and story.SLAM

Slamming blocks is at the heart of Jupiter Junkworks’ arcade puzzle action. Every slam lets you shear off parts of existing blocks or compress gaps beneath them—essential techniques you’ll need to master to succeed. It’s also how you recharge your power-ups, so keep slamming and keep the momentum going!MATCH

Match colored bits to collect valuable resources and trigger block tumbles! In many challenges, collecting these bits is your primary objective—often more important than simply clearing rows. They also carry over into the campaign, so going above and beyond your contract goals means extra resources to invest in upgrades and progress.CRUSH

Strategic placement and timing are key, as building massive rows and chaining combos together will earn you greater rewards and help you complete contracts faster. But there’s a twist: every crushed row fuels your heat meter, gradually ramping up the pace and intensity. As your heat rises, so does the speed of incoming blocks, pushing your reflexes and decision-making to the limit.SMASH

Unlock a growing arsenal of tools designed to obliterate blocks and boost your strategy. One of the first at your disposal is the Rail Driver which compresses everything in a block-wide column, clearing space and setting up massive plays. Each powerup can be used to create a unique loadout tailored to your playstyle, whether you prefer calculated combos, brute force, or chaos-fueled improvisation. The Jovian Frontier

Join Ryla, Grant, and Jun as they band together to make the most of their unexpected new life at Jupiter Junkworks. Hailing from wildly different corners of the solar system—a Mars orbital workyard, Earth’s sprawling megacities, and a commercial pilot training fleet—they’ll need to overcome their differences to have any hope of success.

As your team grows closer, so does the mystery behind Jupiter Junkworks. What really happened to the last owner? And what will you do when you finally uncover the truth ? Check out the Steam Page

Supermassive Games Unveils New Trailer & Turning Points Feature for Sci-Fi Horror Adventure Directive 8020

Experience the latest trailer and a deep dive into the new Turning Points feature, revealed at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase

GUILDFORD, England June 7, 2025 Supermassive Games today revealed a brand-new gameplay trailer for its sci-fi survival-horror narrative adventure, Directive 8020, as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase during Summer Game Fest – highlighting its newest feature, Turning Points.

The trailer plunges players into the heart of the spaceship Cassiopeia, demonstrating “The Scanner,” where crew members must be scanned to see if they’re human or alien. Action intensifies as the hydroponics bay is overrun by an alien substance, where two crewmates face off with alien mimics of themselves and fans are introduced to horrifying Hunter Variants of characters Cernan and Williams.

The trailer also presents a major new gameplay mechanic: Turning Points. This series-first feature gives players the ability to rewind to pivotal points in the story, replaying decisions to unlock different narrative paths, discover missed content, or change outcomes entirely, offering a new level of player control. And for players who want the full-pressure experience, Survivor Mode keeps things unforgiving with no rewinds.

Will Doyle, Creative Director, Dark Pictures at Supermassive Games, said: “With Directive 8020, we’re introducing a brand-new major gameplay feature – Turning Points. For the first time in a Dark Pictures title, players can rewind the story to key decision moments and change the outcomes. It’s an exciting step for us, especially with a story that has branching and multiple endings. It’s all about giving players more control, more replayability, and more ways to uncover every layer of the story.”

Attendees at Summer Game Fest are invited to visit Supermassive Games’ Directive 8020 booth for a hands-on experience with an exclusive demo. The demo offers a tense introduction to the game as players explore the Cassiopeia using tools like the Tap Strap, Messenger System, and Wedge Tool. The demo builds to one of the game’s major dilemmas: a detained crewmate and a split-second decision. Do you pull the trigger, or trust them?
