Criminal Girls: Invite Only to be given a censored release in the West

Criminal-Girls-Invitation-debut- (6)

While the other two announcements NIS America made during their panel at Anime Expo this year were expected, the localization of Criminal Girls: Invitation under the name Criminal Girls: Invite Only was not one of them. However they did indeed surprise those in attendance and their fans worldwide by announcing that they will be localizing this game for release in North America and Europe in spring 2015.

However it seems that these cheers soon turned into anger when it was announced that, similar to Mugen Souls, NIS America had “edited certain aspects of the game.” It quickly was revealed what these parts were when the announcement trailer was released and it is the mini-game pictured above. The original uncensored version of the debut trailer can be found here.

That being said, exact details about what was censored have not been revealed at this moment and we can likely expect more details on that front soon. Moving on from that, Criminal Girls: Invite Only is an updated version of a PSP game that allows players to explore the depths of Hell with a gang of female delinquents as they try to free themselves from their Sins. NIS America describes the title as follows:

Seven delinquents, seven sins, and only one way out. Just hired for a new, mysterious job, you soon discover that this isn’t your normal prison gig. You’ve been entrusted with the care of a crew of girls whose sins have damned their souls to Hell and an eternity of punishment… Their only hope of salvation is for you to recognize their unique histories, and to guide them along the path to redemption. Navigate through the four trials of the Redemption Program, and motivate your crew of delinquents to learn the skills to redeem themselves, or leave them to their fate.

htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary to be released in the West

Hotaru-no-Nikki-screenshot-14

Today NIS America revealed at Anime Expo that they are planning on releasing htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary in North America and Europe this fall as a digital download. This title is one that many people thought would be picked up, but it is a bit of a surprise they are keeping the name the original name.

For those who haven’t been following the game, htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary gives players the task of using the Vita’s touch screen and touch pad to help a girl named Mion travel through dangerous ruins and recover her lost memories. NIS America describes the game as follows:

In the depths of a labyrinthine ruin, a young girl named Mion rises from a deep sleep. Lost, alone, and with no memory of how she got here or where her parents are, she is greeted by two fireflies—one composed entirely of light, and another who lurks among the shadows. By shifting between a world of light and a world of shadows, these two fireflies must work together to recover Mion’s memories and lead her out of the ruins, where voracious shadow beasts, ancient machines, and treacherous traps lie in wait to bar her path. But what secrets do Mion’s lost memories contain? What is the connection between her, the ruins, and the fireflies lighting her escape? The answers may reveal a deeper darkness—one that must be faced from within…

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum announced for Western release

the-guided-fate-cross-thesis-screenshot-15

Today during their panel at Anime Expo, NIS America revealed that they are planning on bringing over Nippon Ichi Software’s The Awakened Fate Ultimatum. This is the sequel to The Guided Fate Paradox which we have previously talked about as The Guided Fate Cross Thesis.

The company announced that they are planning on getting The Awakened Fate Ultimatum released in North America and Europe in spring 2015. NIS America describes the game as such:

Several years after a certain revolution came to pass, and the powerful Satanael was defeated, the devils were still dominant in their constant war against the angels. Meanwhile, a certain Celestia was resorting to guerilla warfare to survive. They focused on researching a way to create a “God” to use as their ultimate weapon against the devils. After creating the “Fate Awakening Crystal,” which can turn a human into a God, the angels could only wait for the day they found someone who was compatible with it…

One day in the Human World, a boy is attacked by a group of devils on his way home from school. He is stabbed through the heart, but as he is dying, he gets saved by a mysterious girl, and wakes up in an unknown location—Celestia. As if guided by the Fate Awakening Crystal that is implanted in his chest, he finds himself thrust into the middle of a war between angels and devils. With his newly awakened powers, he must choose how best to use them, and ultimately, which of the two new girls in his life he will be able to save…

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd to feature English lyric translations

Hatsune-Miku-Project-Diva-F-2nd-eng-screenshot- (4)

Back when the first Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F was released in the West, one of the issues I had with the title was the fact that despite the game featuring a place for lyrics to be translated into English, an actual translation was not provided by Sega. Well it looks like that will not be an issue when Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd is released because Sega has revealed that the title will feature lyric translations for “the majority” of the 40 songs available in the game.

To go along with this announcement, not only did Sega reveal some new screenshots of the game showing off the English subtitles, they also released a new gameplay video that can be found below. Unfortunately they did not provide a more solid release window yet, so you can still expect Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd to drop in North America and Europe sometime this fall.

Before the press was able to get their hands on Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel at E3 last month, 2K Games let Handsome Jack give them some tips for surviving on the moon and now they have released that video so that everyone else can make use of those tips when the game is released in mid-October.

The video can be found below and in it we are treated to not only some of Handsome Jack’s standard humor but also some new gameplay footage showing how players can make use of the moon’s low gravity to float through the air as well as slam into the ground to do damage to opponents.

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse New Gameplay And Character

dragon-ball-xenoverse-mystery-character-01

Bandai Namco and Dimps are having alot of fun teasing the details of their new title Dragon Ball: Xenoverse, choosing to tease yet another mystery character this time in the form of a rather evil looking silhouette. The character is pictured in front of the ‘Time Vault’ which could mean they have some control over time or will also be travelling back in time. Either way the introduction of yet another original character means that the developers are taking this original story seriously and that alot of work will be going into it, which is a good sign for the game.

We also have a few more gameplay videos courtesy of the Japan Expo that is happening right now over in France. You can watch Goku Vs Vegeta and Goku Vs Cell. Some of the highlights include Goku and Vegeta transforming in real time, some kamehemeha victories and a slight closer look at stage destruction. You can tell from a few chinks in the gameplay and camera that the game is still in early alpha as the developers are stressing but it is still looking very impressive. We also got a sneaky look at the character select screen and stage select screen, which leads us to believe that over 24 characters will be present as well as 24 stages. You can view the videos form the expo below.
