Senran Kagura: Estival Versus announced for PS4 and PS Vita

Fans of the Senran Kagura series will be happy to hear that “life and hometown” will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 on March 26, 2015. Today during Sony’s press conference it was revealed that a new Senran Kagura game is in the works and it happens to be called Senran Kagura: Estival Versus. Very few details for the game have been released but since the announcement it has also been revealed that the game would also be heading to the PlayStation Vita.

Considering this is a release on Sony platforms, it will likely continue the storyline from Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus which is set to be released in North America later this year by XSEED Games.

Dragon Quest: Heroes announced for PlayStation 4 and PS3

In what can only be seen as a surprise announcement, Square Enix took to the stage at Sony’s press conference to reveal that they are teaming up with Omega Force and Koei Tecmo to produce a Warriors-style video game using characters from Dragon Quest. The title has been called Dragon Quest: Heroes and will be released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 sometime in spring 2015.

The debut trailer for the game can be found below and interestingly enough, Sony also announced that they will be releasing a “Metal Slime Edition” of the PlayStation 4 which is a silver PlayStation 4 featuring slime engravings and can be seen below.

New Ys title announced for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita

Today during their press conference, Sony revealed that Falcom is working on bringing out a new Ys game for the PlayStation 4 as well as for the PlayStation Vita. While no exact name was given to the title, it will take place on the “Goethe Sea,” which is an archipelago of South Gria and as always, players will control Adol Christin.

Other than that, very few details concerning the story for the next Ys game have been released, but you can check out the announcement trailer below. Currently this Ys title is set to be released in Japan sometime in 2015.

Disgaea 5 announced for PlayStation 4 with teaser video

Many fans of Nippon Ichi Software’s staple franchise, Disgaea, have been eagerly waiting for the next numbered title in the series and today that announcement came during Sony’s press conference. While there had been rumors before, it has now been confirmed that Disgaea 5 is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

Little to no details have been revealed for the game as of yet outside of the fact that it is set to be released in Japan sometime next year. You can check out the teaser video below as well as the teaser site here and fans can probably expect a localization announcement from NIS America sometime late 2015.

New Hot Shots Golf in the works for the PlayStation 4

Today during their press conference Sony announced that they are working on a new Hot Shots Golf, also known as Everybody’s Golf, game for the PlayStation 4 that they are currently calling the “New Minigol Project.”

During the announcement they went on to say that they want to not only make this title a game where players will be able to play golf, but also one where they can build their own golf resort and possibly even their own courses as they wish to make the title more of a “social game.” You can check out the announcement video which features some footage of the in-game environment below.

Next PS Vita system update to add custom menu themes

After revealing a number of PlayStation Vita games, Sony revealed during their press conference this morning that they upcoming Vita system update 3.30 will feature “Themes.” These themes will be available for purchase through the PlayStation Store and although no price was announced, the company did show off themes for games such as Freedom Wars, Danganronpa: Another Episode, and Phantasy Star Nova.

While Vita owners could freely order their icons and change backgrounds at will, these themes will change the images of system icons as well as the music that plays on the menu screen. Currently it is unknown if this feature will be included in the update for Western countries.

New Danganronpa: Another Episode gameplay footage shown off in new trailer

We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming PS Vita game Danganronpa: Another Episode but unfortunately most of it has been in the form of screenshots or scans from Famitsu. As such when Sony took the time during their press conference this morning to show off some brand new gameplay footage for the game, fans of the series were quite pleased.

However if you happened to miss the trailer, which features gameplay footage as well as some anime cutscenes, you can still check it out below, though it is worth noting that it does feature some minor spoilers concerning the first game in the series.

Luminous Arc Infinity announced by Marvelous for the PS Vita

Sony started off their pre Tokyo Game Show press conference by showing off a number of upcoming PlayStation Vita games and with this came the announcement of a brand new fantasy RPG title in the works from Marvelous called Luminous Arc Infinity.

While some gameplay footage was shown off and revealed that the game will be a strategy style RPG, very few details about the game have been released other than the fact that the world must learn the truth, though it is known that songs will play an important role in the game. Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 release date announced for Japan

While Sony was highlighting a number of their upcoming PlayStation Vita titles during their pre Tokyo Game Show press conference, the company happened to give us a look at Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 and in this trailer we also were treated to the release date for the game. As such, Koei Tecmo is currently planning on releasing this game in Japan on December 4th.

It is worth noting that this game is not a PS Vita exclusive and is also heading to the 3DS, and it is also worth mentioning that, at the moment, no Western release for the game has been announced.

New Way of the Samurai title announced for the PlayStation Vita

Today during Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, one of the first videos shown off to viewers was for a new Spike Chunsoft game that just so happens to be one of the company’s oldest series. The company revealed that they are releasing a new Way of the Samurai for the PlayStation Vita.

A very short teaser trailer for the game was released and can be found below. At the moment however no release date or even an exact name has been given at this time. It is also worth noting that the last Way of the Samurai game, shown above, was released in the West courtesy of XSEED Games in North America and NIS America in Europe.
