Mortal Kombat X Release Date and Pre-Order Bonus Revealed

Mortal-Kombat-X-Goro-Promo-01
Finally, we have a firm release date announced for Mortal Kombat X. While I, being an MK fanatic who is lacking patience, was hoping for a January/February release, Mortal Kombat X will be available for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and, yes, PC on April 15, 2015 in Australia and the next day in New Zealand.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment not only revealed that, but also (as you’ve already seen above) a pre-order bonus: Goro, as a playable character for the first time in almost 8 years! I expect that the Shokan Prince will be made available as a separate DLC add-on later on, but for now he is being marketed as retail channel-wide exclusive. Fighting game/MK fans… go pre-order, now! Or the four-armed warrior will break your $500 sunglasses and treat you like Art. Remember him? Exactly.

One of the present and future sci-fi visionaries in the film industry, Joseph Kosinski, has directed a kick-ass Destiny live-action trailer called “Become Legend”. The project comes as a result of a collaboration between Bungie, Activision and 72andSunny.

The TRON: Legacy and Oblivion helmer beautifully frames the conflicts and scope of Destiny as a Fireteam of Guardians embark on an epic journey cross-planets, taking down the Hive on the Moon, the Vex on Venus and the Cabal on Mars, all set against the background music of the “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin. Check it out embedded below. Destiny is out in just a few days on September 9, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Senran Kagura: Estival Versus’ new characters shown off in Famitsu

senran-kagura-estival-versus-art-01

Today Gematsu was able to obtain some new scans from this week’s issue of Famitsu with plenty of details concerning the new ninjas that are being added into Senran Kagura: Estival Versus. As we previously learned, the four new characters happen to be three sisters plus an old woman galled a grandmother.

Sayuri is the elderly woman who carries a large tobacco pipe that looks like it also works as a cane and she seems like she might be the leader of the group while Renka, the oldest sister, wears a red outfit and wields two sticks that are called Raitei. The other sister, Hanabi, is a girl who loves festivals and wears Japanese style festival clothing and uses a gigantic hammer as a weapon while the youngest sister Kafuru battles, oddly enough, with a water gun and is mocked by Hanabi for her flat chest.

The scans and images of the girls can be found below and it is worth noting that the magazine also confirms that clothing in the game can now become wet and partially see-through as well as torn up. Currently Senran Kagura: Estival Versus is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan on March 26th.

First Disgaea 5 screenshots and artwork released

Disgaea-5-screenshot- (4)

Today Nippon Ichi Software released some of the first pieces of artwork as well as screenshots for Disgaea 5 and alongside these images comes new details for the title. First of all, the main enemy in Disgaea 5 appears to be a demon emperor named Void Dark who has been destroying Netherworlds at whim with his brutal ten billion soldier strong army of Lost. While no one has dared to stand up to him, and those that did were obliterated, demons within his own ranks have begun to rise up against Void Dark and that is who players will be controlling.

Disgaea 5 will take place across numerous Netherworlds with demon lords teaming up to fight against Void Dark. This includes Kilia who is the protagonist and is not a demon lord, but has powers rivaling one, Seraphine of Gorgeous Netherworld, and Usalia of the Rabbit Netherworld.

It also appears that there is a new “Revenge” system being implemented into the game’s combat system, though no details about the system have been revealed at this time. Disgaea 5 is set to be released in Japan in Spring 2015 for the PlayStation 4 so we can likely expect an announcement from NIS America sometime early or mid-2015.

New Nintendo 3DS to still be region locked

If you were hoping that Nintendo would take the chance to rectify one of the mistakes that the company had made when they released the Nintendo 3DS with their upcoming New Nintendo 3DS you will be disappointed to hear that they will remain the only major console/handheld publisher to still use region locking, even for the New Nintendo 3DS.

Speaking with GameSpot, Nintendo stated that the system will remain region locked, which has been a source of much grief for gamers in Europe who regularly receive certain titles many months, even a year or two, over North American games and those who wish to import Japanese games.
