Ubisoft Releases New Details of Asymmetrical PvP Mode in Far Cry 4

far-cry-4-screenshot-001

Ubisoft pulled back the curtain on the PvP multiplayer component of Far Cry 4 today. Summed up in a new trailer, there will be three modes that will pit two teams of five against each other in a 20 minute battle. Each team will get a chance to play both factions. The best performing team overall will win the match. The rebellion Golden Path team uses modern weaponry and vehicles to dominate the battlefield with sheer force. The Rakshasa, who serve as Pagan Min’s elite forces, use ancient magics, traditional weapons, and summoned creatures to catch their opponents off balance.

There will be ten maps available at launch. Outpost mode is an attack/defend push map that will see the Rakshasa attacking Golden Path outposts. Propaganda is a similar attack/defend mode that will have the Rakshasa on the defensive. Finally, Demon Mask is a single flag type capture the flag mode.

Far Cry 4 will be released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows on November 18th, 2014.

New Assassin’s Creed Unity Trailer Warns of a Time Anomaly in the Animus

assassin's-creed-unity-screenshot-001

It seems like there is something weird going on inside the Animus. While players are supposed to be exploring Paris in the midst of the French Revolutions in the end of the 1700s, a new trailer hints that some parts of Assassin’s Creed Unity may take place in Paris during a major war. The trailer shows Arno using a machine gun against fighter planes. Three zeppelins are seen hovering around the Eiffel Tower. Based on the zeppelins, I would theorize this is Paris during WWI; however, the fighter plane Arno fires at looks like a fighter plane from WWII.

PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC gamers will be able to solve the mystery on November 11, 2014 in North America and on November 14th in PAL regions.

France is often forgotten when it comes to vehicular warfare, with emphasis placed on Nazi Germany’s finesse and the USSR’s monstrous heavy tanks. But Wargaming proudly puts France on the map with their fast and nimble tanks which packed a punch for their size.

The new update adds a total of 28 new vehicles such as the Foch 155, Renault FT and thw AMX 50 100. Two new maps are also added to the cycle, Karelia and Asia Miao. Check out the detailed developer diary below highlighting Vive La France.

EA Sports is challenging you to “put your game where your mouth is” in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team! A new trailer hypes the much-loved and popular game mode, and can be viewed embedded at the bottom of this article.

The ad comes a day after EA‘s fiscal Q2 2015 earnings were released. The numbers told a tale of 96% year-over-year growth in net revenue from the afore-mentioned game mode within, not just FIFA 15, but also Madden NFL and NHL. This success was pointed out by Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen as a major contributor to the exponential digital growth the company has experienced; “By emphasizing player engagement and our digital live services, we’ve grown revenue, expanded gross margins and delivered EPS well above prior year and our guidance.”

The Crew’s Second Closed Beta Starting November 6

The-Crew-Closed-Beta-Promo-01

It feels like The Crew is constantly in an open or closed beta, which is a good thing. Ubisoft are clearly dedicated to nailing this open-world, MMO-CarPG experience. Another closed beta will be beginning on November 6, running through the 10th of November, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One exclusively. Interested gamers can register here.

This closed beta will offers up the entire United States for racers to explore, and complete challenges across two of the five regions within: the Midwest and East Coast. The PvP lobbies for both will also be opened, so you can get your competitive juices flowing and claim early success on the streets. Add to this two of the five spec classes, Street and Dirt, available for players to customise their rides with and the closed beta really seems like a great sampling of the final game’s features. Though participants won’t technically need to be Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus subscribers to partake, certain online features will require it.

The Crew will be released on December 2 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC.

It has been revealed in the latest issue of Comics News magazine that an anime adaptation for Shokugeki no Soma is in the works and will air sometime in 2015. This series began publication in Weekly Shonen Jump back in late 2012 and follows the story of Soma, a chef who works at his father’s restaurant. Thanks to his father being a master chef, Soma often tries to compete with his father on who can create the most appetizing dish.

Unfortunately his dream of inheriting the family business is crushed when his father closes the shop to cook in the USA, but he still has one chance. After leaving, his father challenged Soma to enroll in the most elite culinary school in Japan and graduate, which will be quite challenging as only 10% of those who attend the school ever graduate.

It is currently unknown what studio will be animating Shokugeki no Soma but as for the manga it is based off of, Viz Media is currently releasing English volumes of the series in North America with the second volume released earlier this month.
