Kobojo’s Highly Anticipated Mobile JRPG Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey to Launch as a Premium Title in U.S. and Europe

PARIS Aug. 11, 2015 – Independent game developer Kobojo has revealed that its upcoming Japanese role-playing game (JRPG), Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey will officially launch as a premium mobile game on iOS platforms in the U.S. and Europe later this year. The game is in production at Kobojo’s Dundee, Scotland studio with the aid of Kazushige Nojima (writer of Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X) and Hitoshi Sakimoto (composer of Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy XII).

Combining some of the best elements of classic JRPGs, this innovative new role-playing game seamlessly combines an engaging adventure and intense battle sequences with freeform exploration, item crafting and a unique storyline – all presented with gorgeous, hand-drawn 2D art and accompanied by a comprehensive soundtrack. At launch, Zodiac will be available as a premium app purchase from the App Store, offering multiple areas to explore, numerous dungeons, hours of quests and side-quests, and in-depth cinematic sequences and epic boss encounters. The game will be supplemented following launch with episodic updates that unfold the story of Orcanon, add new areas to explore, release additional unlockable character classes and powers to discover, and interesting new characters to meet and exciting new challenges to reveal the secrets of this new mysterious world.

“The heart and soul of Zodiac has always been to bring players a classic JRPG experience regardless of platform – the kind of experience that JRPG fans enjoy, and sadly, that no longer seem as common as they once were,” said Kobojo CEO Mario Rizzo. “Listening to the great feedback we received after showing the game at GDC and E3, we’ve made the unprecedented decision to shift gears from Kobojo’s usual free-to-play format to make Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey a premium game for Western audiences. We’re excited to announce that the launch of game will offer an original Nojima-san storyline and the thrilling gameplay that we’ve all been hoping to see from a new JRPG product in a standalone, one-time premium game purchase, with episodic content updates to continue the epic saga of Orcanon.”

Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey will launch later this year on Android and will launch on PC and Sony platforms shortly afterwards. Exact pricing information will be released closer to launch.

Mewtwo Amiibo Official Images Released

mewtwo-amiibo-promo-02

The Amiibo craze may have died down from its early days but that doesn’t mean that every character in Smash Bros. won’t be receiving their own physical figure, including the DLC characters that were added to the game. Mewtwo is the first of these DLC characters to receive an Amiibo and he looks pretty epic even though he’s been shrunken down to toy size.

The Mewtwo Amiibo will release on October 23rd in Europe and the 24th in Australia, alongside the modern colours 8-Bit Mario Amiibo. A U.S. release date has not yet been set. Using the Mewtwo Amiibo in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS will allow you to fight the character without a purchase but you will still not be able to play as Mewtwo unless you purchase the DLC.

UPDATE: U.S. release date confirmed for November 20th.

OVERLORD™: FELLOWSHIP OF EVIL INFORMATION FILM DISCUSSES THE BENEFITS OF EVILING ALONE OR EVILING WITH FRIENDS

OVERLORD™: FELLOWSHIP OF EVIL INFORMATION FILM DISCUSSES THE BENEFITS OF EVILING ALONE OR EVILING WITH FRIENDS

UK – August 10, 2015 – The dastardly development minions at Codemasters today unleashed the latest video for Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, their digital only, angelically-priced, devilishly fun Action RPG which is coming to PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC soon. Fans of evil doings can watch the trailer in action now at www.overlordthegame.com.

Whilst eviling alone is fun, the second in their series of training videos from The Minionstry of Information also teaches Netherghūls-in-training the value of working together. Bringing a friend (or at least someone you can tolerate for a while) along to help with the carnage can really help lift the levels of nefarious nastiness.

But in Overlord: Fellowship of Evil, your friends can also be your biggest enemies. Co-operation becomes “co-opetition” as Netherghūls compete to be more evil throughout the game and traps offer opportunities for mischief.

“Whilst you are welcome to indulge in some solo mayhem and destruction, sometimes you need a friend to back you up,” said Gnarl, evil Minion Master. “And when I say friend, I mean enemy who hasn’t killed you yet.”

Fellowship of Evil has been designed to be equally fun playing solo or with your friends in co-op,” said Carl Johnson, Chief Design Minion, Codemasters. “Whether you’re at your happiest causing chaos alone with a horde of minions at your heels or together with some equally evil companions, there’s always plenty of deviousness to be done. Remember, evil never plays by the rules!”

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil is a dark and twisted Action RPG filled with the series’ signature black humor. Penned by award-winning original Overlord scriptwriter Rhianna Pratchett, Overlord: Fellowship of Evil delivers an epic new quest featuring four Netherghūls – undead servants of the dark arts, resurrected in the absence of a true Overlord, to bring evil back to a world overrun by the forces of good.

Assisting gamers once again are the mighty, maniacal and occasionally moronic minions, ready to unleash their charmingly chaotic brand of destruction and led by Gnarl, their wise old master, voiced, as before, by actor Marc Silk.

Players will embark on a brand new Overlord adventure filled with fun combat and twisted fantasy tales in single-player or with up to three friends in local and online single-screen co-op. Overlord: Fellowship of Evil invites players to dive into an Action RPG where it’s good to be bad, but it’s GREAT to be evil.

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil invades digital stores on consoles and Steam for Windows PC in 2015. Follow the Codemasters minions’ progress towards world domination on the Codemasters Blog and on social media on Twitter and Facebook.
