The Palms – Crown Melbourne will be the stage for the Call of Duty World League Challenge Division ANZ Presented by Playstation 4, in partnership with Crown on April 9-10. Taking place over an action-packed weekend, spectators will have the opportunity to witness the highest level of competitive eSports console gaming on the No. 1 top-selling video game of 2015, Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The tournament will be administrated and broadcast by Call of Duty World League Pro Division partner ESL.

For local team favourites Mindfreak, currently ranked #1 and Tainted Minds, ranked #2 who will be competing for the top spot in the CWL Stage 1 Finals on March 19-20, this will be the first opportunity to test their skills against the top teams from North America and Europe, ahead of the world finals in September. In addition to fans being able to watch leading local players such as Denz and Buzzo (Mindfreak) competing, Call of Duty® eSports idols such as Scump (OpTic Gaming) and Swanny (Millenium) will also take part in meet-and-greet sessions throughout the event. Also part of the festivities, local CODcasters, including Myksta and Inmaniac, will be providing their unique style of live commentary of the action over the weekend.

Plymouth, MI. – March 10, 2016 – Stardock has announced March 31, 2016 as the release date for its highly anticipated real-time strategy game, Ashes of the Singularity. Set in a future where humanity has expanded into the stars and is now in conflict for control of key planets in the galaxy, players wage planetary warfare on a massive scale to conquer opponents and control planets.

Ashes of the Singularity allows players to command their forces in a war that has spread across much of the galaxy in the 23rd century. Players have a choice of playing either the descendants of humanity, the Post-Human Coalition, or their bitter strong-AI enemy, the Substrate, as they fight for control over the galaxy’s most prized resource, Turinium.

“With Ashes of the Singularity, we want to present players with a game that lets them feel like they are fighting a planetary war, not just a battle,” said CEO and President of Stardock, Brad Wardell.

While the game includes a non-linear campaign, single player scenarios and skirmishes backed by the first multi-core RTS game AI, the game also supports ranked multiplayer with a lively community, custom matches with friends vs. AI or any combination thereof.

“We are not looking to reinvent the RTS,” said Wardell. “Our goal is to introduce a new generation of gamers to the general awesomeness of real time strategy gaming. That means showing how well non-cheating computer players can perform in single player as well as making it easy to get multiplayer games going.”

New Details About Upcoming Map Along With Results From The Mercenary Showdown

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – March 10, 2016 – Developer Obsidian Entertainment and global publisher My.com announce today more information about the update 0.14 coming this month. Highwall, a strip mine, is the newest map available for tank commanders to square off on in PvP. This new map will allow for players to take strategic positions to destroy enemy vehicles from above, before swooping down winding paths to assault the pits and achieve team victory!

Highwall spans 1200 x 1200 meters in size and takes place completely within an industrial strip mine. Machinery and heavy equipment dot the landscape, precariously perched at the edge of open quarries in order to harvest rich gold veins, manganese, and uranium ore deposits. The routes presented in Highwall often have diverging paths – opening up key opportunities for players to flank their enemies and overrun a route from several directions.
Additional features coming with update 0.14:

  • Replay support – Replaying a recording of a match will allow players to view everything from the perspective of the replay creator. Players can pause, play, or stop their recording, as well as increase or decrease the speed at which they want the match to replay. Additionally, players can spectate specific vehicles or seamlessly switch into a free-cam observer mode.
  • 3 new PvE missions and maps – Operations Frostbite, Albatross, and Cerberus will pose new threats for players teaming up in Armored Warfare’s co-operative gameplay mode.
  • High Tier Gameplay Changes –Based upon player feedback, a number of unpopular elements of high-tier gameplay will be addressed. Details will be fully disclosed at the launch of update 0.14.
