  • Physics-Based Chaos – Dynamic physics make cosmic cleaning fun! Stack up bits and pieces, spill stuff, and try not to make more mess than you started with. Just don’t ask us how the gravity systems are still online…

Play the demos for restored horror classics Ecstatica 1 & 2 during Steam Next Fest

Groundbreaking horror-fantasyaction-adventures launch for the first time digitally October 26th!

London, United Kingdom – October 19th, 2026 – Boutique publisher SNEG, in partnership with Andrew Spencer Studios, have just released demos for the classic survival horror adventures Ecstatica 1 & 2 for Steam Next Fest. Both titles will launch just in time for Halloween on October 26th for Steam and GOG. Each game will be $14.99 USD / £12.49 GBP / €14.99 EUR separately, or discounted as a bundle including both titles for $19.99 USD /  £16.75 GBP  / €19.99 USD.

Originally released in 1994 by British developer Andrew Spencer Studios, and published by Psygnosis, Ecstatica is a pioneering survival-horror adventure where horror meets 90s edginess and absurd British humour set in the demon-cursed medieval village of Tirich. Upon stopping for some water, the player character finds themself stalked by an unkillable werewolf.

Ecstatica

Unique for its time, and still unusual today, Ecstatica features an immersive, movie-like experience with no UI, prompts, or quest logs. Utilizing cinematic fixed camera angles, gameplay is focused on puzzles over combat, as you must use your wits to escape your lupine pursuer. Enemy spawn points and encounters change with every run, offering infinite replayability. Expect to die a lot… or get turned into a frog. In 1994 the genre of survival horror had yet to be codified, so anything and everything could happen!

Running on its original 1994 engine, Ecstatica features unique ellipsoid graphics. While most early-90s developers built 3D worlds from polygons, Andrew Spencer Studios used ellipsoids for a more organic, realistic look. Polygons became the industry standard, but Ecstatica remains a fascinating alternative path for 3D graphics and its unusual look still stands out today.

Ecstatica II

Ecstatica II followed in 1997, and this dark fantasy action-adventure built on its cult predecessor with a far larger world, featuring over 1,100 hand-chosen cinematic camera angles – all rendered in Andrew Spencer’s unmistakable ellipsoid style.  Following the events of the first game, the hero returns home to find his realm ravaged by an evil archmage. He must defeat him, rescue the sorceress Ecstatica and reclaim his kingdom. Offering a grittier, gorier tone, and a greater focus on hack-and-slash combat, players must utilize potions and spells as they journey through this cursed realm.

This marks the first time these long-lost gems of late-’90s PC action-adventures have been available digitally, making them far easier for modern players to discover. The re-released versions of both titles not only ensures that they run smoothly on modern systems, while adding a number of improvements, including full controller support and the ability to switch between different graphics modes (e.g. DOS, Windows 95, and Software mode) on the fly to compare them in real time. These re-releases also feature full Steam support, including Achievements and Cloud Saves, and are being fully playable on Steam Deck.

“Ecstatica 1 & 2 are incredible games that are unlike anything that have come out before or since,” said Artem Shchuiko, Director at SNEG. “They are bold, imaginative titles with ideas and a visual identity that can still surprise players today, but for years they’ve been relegated to old operating systems that made them difficult for the average player to access. It really means a lot to us to bring them back for those who missed out on them – and for players who may not have even been born when they first premiered.”

About SNEG
SNEG is a boutique publisher dedicated to reviving classic gaming gems. Driven by a deep appreciation for timeless titles, they aim to bring beloved interactive experiences from across gaming history back to modern audiences.

Merchant Miles Sets Up Shop at Steam Next Fest with a Free Demo and Official Trailer

The cozy travelling-merchant game about buying low, selling high, and reading the market heads to Steam Next Fest from October 19th to 26th, ahead of its February 2027 launch

October 2026 | Solo developer Tyco of Typical Tuesday Games is bringing Merchant Miles, a travelling merchant game about chasing rumours, haggling with customers, and outsmarting rival traders, to Steam Next Fest: October 2026. The free demo is available to play on Steam now, alongside the game’s Official Trailer.

Built around the simple thrill of a good deal, Merchant Miles asks players to figure out what each town needs before their rivals get there first, then load up the cart and hit the road.

Play the free demo on Steam

A great merchant knows their market
In Merchant Miles, every town presents a new opportunity to make a fortune, provided players know where to look. From reading the latest market news and tracking shifting prices to navigating new laws and decrees, players must stay one step ahead of an ever-changing economy. With limited coins and cart space, every purchase counts, whether that means stocking up on reliable goods or taking a gamble on something that could fetch a higher price elsewhere.

Once in town, it’s time to set up shop and put those negotiating skills to work. Players can set their prices, haggle with customers, and decide when to take a profit or push for a better deal. Every trading day brings new lessons, opportunities, and the occasional costly mistake.

A game about being confidently wrong
There’s no single right way to build a business in Merchant Miles. A bad purchase can take up valuable cargo space for days, losing freshness and getting harder to sell. A smart trade, on the other hand, can open up an entirely new route.

With no single route to success, players are free to build their business their way, all within a detailed economy shaped by developer Tyco’s background in economics.

Try the free demo during Steam Next Fest
Merchant Miles is part of Steam Next Fest: October 2026, running October 19th to 26th. The free demo, which went live on Steam on October 5th, gives players a first look at the core trading loop: buying stock, planning routes between distinct towns, managing permits and expenses, and running a physical market stall.

Players can download the demo directly from the Merchant Miles Steam page, and wishlist the game to be notified the moment it launches.

Feedback from Next Fest will feed straight into development, with Tyco planning to refine the economy, improve clarity, and expand towns and trade opportunities alongside the community.

Key Features

  • A living market: Navigate shifting prices, supply, demand, and world events across different towns.
  • Information is currency: Use newspapers and rumours to uncover your next trading opportunity.
  • Laws that react to you: Adapt to economic changes influenced by your decisions and world events.
  • Every coin counts: Balance limited funds, cargo space, and the freshness of your goods.
  • The art of the deal: Set your prices, negotiate with customers, and know when to walk away.
  • Make a name for yourself: Complete contracts, grow your name, and choose when to stay put or move on.
  • Learn from every trade: Review daily results and use your experience to plan your next move.

On the road to a February 2027 launch
Merchant Miles is slated to launch on Steam for Windows PC in February 2027.

The launch will include the full core trading loop, with plans to keep expanding the world over time with more towns, goods, routes, market events, rivals, staff, upgrades and contracts. Tyco also plans to deepen the economy, progression systems, merchant skill tree and customer relationships based on player feedback.

About Typical Tuesday Games

Typical Tuesday Games is the studio of solo developer Tyco, making games about buying low, selling high, and being confidently wrong. With Merchant Miles, Tyco brings a love of economics to a cozy, approachable trading game where every decision is a small gamble and every market day tells a story.
