Retro Sci-Fi Horror Adventure Infested DX Launches October 27 on Steam

From the developer behind Beyond Shadowgate, the expanded 16-bit reimagining of the cult classic point-and-click brings lethal hazards and cosmic dread to PC

Toronto, Canada, 15 October 2026 – Publisher Komi Games and solo developer GrahfMetal (Jeff Canam) are thrilled to announce that Infested DX, a retro sci-fi horror point-and-click adventure game, will officially launch on PC via Steam on October 27 for $9.99 USD. Awakening as the sole survivor aboard a desolate starship, players must navigate deadly hazards, hostile creatures and lethal environmental traps, as they search to find a cure for their own infection, chart a route home and make sense of the nightmare that doomed the rest of the crew.

Drawing deep inspiration from brutal, atmosphere-drenched classics such as Shadowgate and Déjà Vu, Infested DX embraces high-stakes retro puzzle-solving. Expect to die fast, die often, and rely on unconventional experimentation to overcome relentless obstacles across a focused, three-hour campaign.

Rebuilt from the ground up to realise the game’s full vision, this “DX” edition delivers a vast visual overhaul alongside substantial new content and modern quality-of-life improvements.

Key Features

  • Brutal Classic Adventure Gameplay: Step into the unforgiving shoes of first-person MacVenture-style classics where every room presents fatal traps, intricate puzzles and demands unconventional solutions.
  • Bite-Sized Horror Experience: A tight, suspense-filled 3-hour journey designed with replayability and speedrunning in mind.
  • Comprehensive 16-Bit Overhaul: Completely upgraded visuals transform the original 8-bit aesthetic into rich, dread-inducing 16-bit pixel art and detailed cosmic horror backdrops.
  • Expanded Story and Locations: Explore previously unseen rooms, conquer brand-new puzzles and uncover deeper lore refining the original narrative.
  • Modern Quality-of-Life Upgrades: Navigate the nightmare with full controller support, an integrated quicksave system and modern accessibility settings.

Black Razor Records releases the first two songs from the MR. RECORDS soundtrack

“Power of Imagination” and “The Sausage Blues” arrive on streaming platforms on 19 October, as the MR. RECORDS demo enters the Steam Next Fest

Black Razor Records, working with Wired Productions and Glee-Cheese Studio, today releases the first two songs from the original soundtrack to MR. RECORDS: “Power of Imagination” and “The Sausage Blues”. Both tracks, by Charles Bardin and Valentin Ducloux, are available on streaming platforms from today, alongside multi-screen making-of lyric videos that take you behind the scenes of each song.

They are the first of more than 70 original tracks created for the game, a soundtrack that moves from funk and progressive rock to hip-hop, electro, world music and 80s pop, with the rest of the catalogue to follow.

“Great records take you somewhere else, and that is exactly what this soundtrack does. ‘Power of Imagination’ and ‘The Sausage Blues’ are the perfect way in: one a proper journey, one a proper laugh. We can’t wait for people to drop the needle on the rest.”

Matt Jackson, Label Manager, Black Razor Records

THE SONGS

Power of Imagination

The opening track of the game, “Power of Imagination” introduces the jump and kick gameplay and the idea of travelling through music, with a song that takes its listeners on a journey through several very different parts. The lyrics follow a character who is bored at home and begins to travel, forgetting his worries by listening to music, and setting the scene for George’s fertile imagination.

The Sausage Blues

The third track players hear in the game, “The Sausage Blues” is a funny song about George’s beloved father, Roger, a butcher. It tells the story of a day when Roger was worried he didn’t have enough sausages to meet his customers’ demand.

Keep Your Quacks Down! QUIET’s First-Ever Demo Launches This October

Following a playtest with over 270K players, the co-op horror comedy game heads to The MIX and Screamfest

[October 19, 2026] Keep your bills shut and your flock close! Following a successful first playtest that welcomed more than 270,000 players from 148 countries, LINE Games is excited to announce that QUIET, the 1–4 player online co-op horror comedy game in which every sound matters, will reveal and release its first-ever demo on October 22. QUIET will also be featured as part of The MIX Fall Showcase and will participate in Screamfest, which runs from October 26–November 2.

More than 350,000 players signed up for QUIET’s first playtest, with 271,132 ultimately joining the flock. Drawing on feedback from those players, the team has addressed major bugs, optimized the build for a more stable experience, and incorporated requested features ahead of the official demo. Players can experience the updated build when QUIET’s official demo launches simultaneously on Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 22.

In QUIET, you and your flock are alien ducks stranded on Earth, searching a nearby house for the parts needed to repair your spaceship. The problem? The homeowner is a monster who can hear every sound you make. Work together, keep quiet, and get out with your feathers intact. The upcoming demo adds the new four-player “Duck Out” Arcade Stage, along with a spaceship-themed waiting room inspired by player feedback and special Halloween content.

About QUIET:

  • Search for Ship Parts: Explore the house, recover the components needed to repair your ship, and escape before you’re discovered.
  • Every Sound Matters: Movement, dropped objects, and even your real-world voice can alert the homeowner. A microphone is required.
  • Work Together or Go Down Together: Coordinate with up to three other players, but remember that one noisy mistake can put the entire flock in danger.
  • A Horror Comedy Co-op Unlike Any Other: Balance stealth, teamwork, and chaotic duck antics as you struggle to survive against an ever-listening threat.

The upcoming demo for QUIET will be available starting on October 22. Catch QUIET as part of The MIX and during Screamfest, from October 26 through November 2. Be sure to wishlist the game on Steam to stay up-to-date on future news.

The Last Caretaker Reveals What Has Been Hiding in Plain Sight in Update 6.0: The Jump

Free update opens PROJECT CROSSING, North Bastion, cold survival and a major new chapter in Anna’s story

Helsinki, Finland – October 19, 2026 – Channel37 has released Update 6.0: The Jump, a free update for all existing Early Access players of the single-player crafting explorer The Last Caretaker. At the center of the update is something players have seen since the beginning. An arch atop the Lazarus Complex has been part of the world from day one. Players have walked past it for dozens of hours without knowing what it was built to do.

For players who have not entered the drowned world yet, The Last Caretaker is also 20% off from October 19 at 6 pm BST / 7 pm CEST / 1 pm EDT / 10 am PDT through October 25, making Update 6.0 a good point to begin the journey. The game is available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, XBOX fans can wishlist the game set for full release in Spring 2027.

PROJECT CROSSING begins

The new questline reveals the structure as part of an old Transfer Gate network capable of connecting distant registered locations. The first active route links Lazarus Complex to North Bastion, an entirely new frozen mountain region that continues the main story and introduces cold as a survival threat. This means a new part of the world to explore, a new way to move between distant locations, new environmental challenges and systems, and a major continuation of one of the game’s longest-running mysteries.

>> INCOMING DIRECTIVE: WATCH UPDATE 6.0 – THE JUMP

Update 6.0: The Jump Highlights

  • PROJECT CROSSING: Discover and activate Transfer Gate technology, beginning with the first connection between Lazarus Complex and North Bastion.
  • North Bastion: Explore a new snowy mountain region with new facilities, infrastructure, records and story content.
  • Cold survival: Low temperatures now slow and damage the Caretaker. New heaters, a boiler and heat-producing equipment help players survive and open frozen routes.
  • New systems: Build the Methane Extractor, use methane canisters, unlock new skills, place custom map markers and access new Motion Comfort options.
  • Anna’s story continues: North Bastion introduces a major new chapter involving Anna, reconstruction content, Permanent Memories and interactions that remain after the storyline.
  • Major improvements: Reduced stuttering, improved Gyrocopter handling, faster system catch-up after leaving locations and a large round of crash, save, quest, combat and progression fixes.

PROJECT CROSSING is built into the world rather than presented as a conventional fast-travel menu. Players must discover the Transfer Gate, understand its technology, activate it and establish a valid destination before making the first crossing.

That destination changes the environment immediately.

North Bastion introduces freezing temperatures, snow, ice-blocked passages and infrastructure built around surviving the cold. Existing tools gain new uses too, with equipment including the Flamethrower and Flame Pistol now producing heat.

North Bastion also pushes Anna’s story into new territory. She begins recognizing places and systems she should have no memory of, leading the player toward questions about her origins and what exactly survived from the past. Channel37 is deliberately leaving the rest of Anna’s story undisclosed. Players will have to go north and discover it themselves.

“The arch has been sitting there since the beginning,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Channel37. “It was never decoration. We like building the world this way: something you have seen for 50 hours can suddenly change meaning when the system behind it finally wakes up. North Bastion does something similar with Anna. You think you know what you have been listening to, and then the world gives you another piece.”

Update 6.0 also continues Channel37’s technical work on The Last Caretaker, with reduced exploration stutter, smoother behavior around large numbers of enemies, cables and modules, improved world simulation after leaving locations, better map and Grid Scanner behavior, improved underwater visuals, weather, fabrication and enemy behavior, plus fixes across saves, quests, vehicles, cables, modules and progression.
