NieR-Automata-screenshot-(40)

Square Enix has announced during the 2016 PlayStation Press Conference in Japan that they are planning on releasing their upcoming title NieR: Automata in Japan on February 23, 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and PC.

To accompany this announcement the company has released a new minute and ten second long video for the game but don’t expect to glean a whole lot from it as it seems that it is either meant to be more of a teaser trailer for things to come later in the week or just intentionally vague, which is something I wouldn’t put past the series and Taro Yoko’s style of messing with the heads of fans.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Releasing Worldwide January 2017

Square Enix has announced that they are planning on getting Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue released worldwide in January 2017 though that doesn’t mean that the title will be released on the same day. Instead the company is planning on having the title launch in Japan on January 12, 2017 and in Western countries nearly two weeks later on January 24th.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will feature the completely new episode Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage, which is previewed a bit in the latest trailer below, in addition to a remaster of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts Chi: Back Cover.

The company also announced that a “Deluxe Edition” of Nioh will be sold digitally in Japan and will contain both the officially announced season pass (likely something that will be offered in the West as well), which will contain three additional missions that will offer story, weapons, youkai, bosses, and equipment over time as well as a PlayStation Network avatar set.

Earth Defense Force 5 Officially Revealed for PlayStation 4

earth-defense-force-5-screenshot-002

D3 Publisher announced during the PlayStation Press Conference in Japan that they are officially working on Earth Defense Force 5 for the PlayStation 4. The company didn’t share much information about the title at the time of the announcement other than that it will be released sometime in 2017.

They did have a video to show off though, you can check it out below, that featured plenty of things that fans expected of Earth Defense Force 5 such as fancier looking giant ants and spiders to face off against though the appearance of new alien spacecraft as well as a giant humanoid enemy are some pleasing surprises.

Musou Stars Announced by Koei Tecmo

musou-stars-screenshot-001

With Koei Tecmo producing so many Musou titles and owning plenty of popular franchises, fans have been wondering just when the company would pull the trigger on the game that fans have been waiting for. A title that would go beyond even the Orochi series and bring together numerous titles into one Musou title and that has just been announced. Koei Tecmo has revealed that they are working on Musou Stars, a title that will feature popular characters from series such as Ninja Gaiden, the Atelier series, Dynasty Warriors, and more.

It is currently set to be released in Japan sometime in 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
