Sea of Thieves Developer Gameplay Video Released

While we still don’t have a set release date other than sometime in 2017 for Rare’s Sea of Thieves, that hasn’t stopped the developers and Microsoft from giving us small glimpses of gameplay. This latest video begins what will likely be a series of videos featuring the development team of the game playing through the Technical Alpha version of the game and interacting with other players who are in the “Insider Program.”

In the eight minutes of gameplay footage below we see the four players take part in a treasure delivery mission though things begin to go awry when a ship eager to sink them and take their treasure appears.

Dead by Daylight Announced for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

The popular asymmetrical horror game that pits four survivors against one nigh-unstoppable killing machine, Dead by Daylight, has been announced for release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Starbreeze Studios and Behaviour Digital announced plans to release the game digitally on the two consoles sometime this year after selling more than 1.8 million copies on Steam after being released on PC back in June 2016.

It is worth noting that on Steam the standard version of Dead by Daylight is priced at $19.99 with the deluxe edition costing $29.99. Whether the console release will take after either of these price tags has yet to be announced.

Open Call for Developers Affected by Immigration Ban to Demo Games at Devolver Digital Underground During Game Developers Conference 2017

Open Call for Developers Affected by Immigration Ban to Demo Games at Devolver Digital Underground During Game Developers Conference 2017

Devolver Digital Accepting Submissions Until February 20th

Austin, Texas – Independent publisher of fine indie wares Devolver Digital is now accepting submissions to demo games on behalf of creators and developers unable to attend this month’s Game Developer Conference in San Francisco due to the recent ban on travel to the United States from certain foreign countries.

Devolver Digital will set up gaming PCs and HTC Vive sets (if necessary) to demo games from developers affected by the ban in the nearby offsite location used by Devolver Digital during the conference. The location, formally named ‘Galvanize’ but now dubbed the ‘Devolver Underground’ during GDC, is located in the basement level of 44 Tehama St., San Francisco, CA 94105 and is open to press and attendees during the conference Monday, February 27th through Wednesday, March 1st, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Creators interested in submitting their build/demo should email [email protected] and include the following information:

• Studio Name / Developer Name

• Short description of the game

• Country of origin

• Link to video of the game if available

“One of my favorite things about games is that they are truly global in nature, transcending borders and cultural differences more seamlessly than other art forms, and working with different people from all over the world with wildly varying backgrounds has been a huge part of Devolver’s success and of our personal enjoyment of what we do,” said Mike Wilson, co-founder of Devolver Digital. “We are happy to have the opportunity to help create a bridge in some small way for some of the talented developers who will unfortunately be unable to attend this year’s GDC.”

Submissions and inquiries should be sent ASAP as space is limited. Due to the limited space, preference will be given to those developers that were set to travel to GDC and were forced to cancel their plans due to the recent executive order by the Trump administration.

‘UnDungeon’ hits 100% on Kickstarter with two weeks to spare

‘UnDungeon’ hits 100% on Kickstarter with two weeks to spare

Explore parallel worlds in stunning new pixel art RPG.

London, UK – 02/02/2017: UnDungeon™, a classically inspired action/RPG with roguelike elements, has succeeded in hitting its Kickstarter target with two weeks of the campaign remaining. The initial €50,000 goal was surpassed last week, and the campaign is now progressing through early stretch goals, with support from Square Enix Collective.

Among those stretch goals are content upgrades, but also the opportunity for the game to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well as PC.

UnDungeon takes place in a gorgeous and mysterious world based on the principles of the multiverse, whereby multiple variations of the same world have collided in a single dimension following a cataclysmic event known as ‘The Shift’.

The game, being created by developer Laughing Machines, combines challenging fast-paced combat with beautiful hand-drawn pixel art, traditional role-playing mechanics, and roguelike elements. UnDungeon takes players on a supernatural journey across a dynamic, procedurally-generated map as one of the seven Heralds, each of whom have come from a world destroyed by The Shift.

UnDungeon was well supported by the Square Enix community when it was showcased on the Collective website; while the campaign is owned and being run by Laughing Machines, Square Enix is supporting them by raising awareness of the project to a wider audience.

About UnDungeon:

  • Fast-paced action gameplay
  • Superb pixel-art visual style
  • A mix of roguelike and RPG gameplay elements
  • A deep and intriguing storyline
