Pixel Toys Releases Arcade Zombie-Shooter Drop Dead for Gear VR

LONDON – Oct. 27, 2016 – Pixel Toys has launched the original VR zombie-shooter Drop Dead today for Samsung Gear VR Powered by Oculus. Combining highly detailed 3D graphics with the first-person immersion of virtual reality, Drop Dead delivers heart-pounding, quick-trigger, arcade action against the relentless swarms of the undead in both single-player and multiplayer game modes.

“As both creators and players, Gear VR’s ability to take us to new worlds with comfort and convenience has been incredibly exciting,” said Andy Wafer, CEO at Pixel Toys. “Drop Dead takes full advantage of Gear VR’s cutting-edge design to deliver an experience unlike anything else on the platform for hardcore and casual gamers to enjoy alone or together.”

Drop Dead takes players on an adventure that blends light horror and humor through 13 single-player missions featuring intuitive gameplay, interactive environments and uniquely challenging enemies. It also includes real-time multiplayer for up to four players simultaneously. Pixel Toys is working on two additional chapters of single-player content, expected to arrive as free updates later this year.

Drop Dead is available today worldwide on Gear VR at a special 20% launch discount for $7.99 (through Nov. 1). It is also in development for Oculus Rift.

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. is holding an ULTIMATE CROSSOVER event, an exciting in-game campaign between popular mobile titles One Piece Treasure Cruise and Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, both available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Players of One Piece Treasure Cruise and Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle can enjoy login bonuses, special characters, new quests, and raid-style battles against super villains in both games until Thursday, November 24th.

One Piece Treasure Cruise is an adventure RPG game that features characters from the acclaimed One Piece universe and challenges players to build the strongest crew, take down enemies, and complete quests inspired by fan-favorite adventures from the anime story. Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle brings the popular Dragon Ball Z saga to mobile platforms with beloved characters, action packed battles and board game-style gameplay.

During the ULTIMATE CROSSOVER campaign, in One Piece Treasure Cruise, “Frieza” from the Dragon Ball Z series and in Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle “Doflamingo” from the One Piece series will be appearing as boss characters.

As more players take part in the campaign, their collective activity will go towards a 9-level reward program, with each level corresponding to a specific points total and earning cool rewards for each player who has logged-in during the campaign. Reaching the 9th level of rewards will unlock the highest difficulty level for the special stage. There will be a ton of rewards including Rainbow Gems (for One Piece Treasure Cruise) and Dragon Stones (for Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle), as well as nine characters for both games. In order to earn the rewards, players must accumulate points and reach the point targets in both Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and One Piece Treasure Cruise.

When an Eldar falls in battle, their soul must be entombed in a soul stone lest they be lost forever to the Warp. Sometimes, the spirits are joined to a Wraithguard construct during times of war. Bordering on necromantic, the practice is considered immoral – but desperate times call for desperate measures.

The most feared of these resurrected Eldar warriors are the Wraithblades. Distinguished from the rest by their unmatched fury, Wraithblades must be segregated from other ghost warriors for fear that their infectious wrath will consume their kin.

Wraithblades aren’t as quick as their allies, but can initiate combat with a long charge that gets faster over time. Skirting along the edge of a Webway Gate’s influence can be an effective way to control when your Fleet of Foot passive kicks in – surprising your enemy with a quick burst of speed. Once within close combat range, their two deadly Ghostswords and ferocity will quickly tear through enemy infantry.

Abilities:

Vengeance (Passive)

Wraithblades charge from long range and upon impact taunt the target into attacking them for a short duration. While in combat, Wraithblades gain Fury. For every 10 Fury their damage increases by 25%.

Soul Recall (requires Infinity Portal and charges)

The Wraithblade abandons its current body, sending its soul stone back to the target Infinity Portal. Double clicking this ability automatically sends them to the nearest Infinity Portal.

Today, a new hero arrives for Battleborn players the 29th playable hero, Kid Ultra! Season Pass holders and Digital Deluxe owners can instantly unlock Kid Ultra early starting today, and he will be available for everyone on Thursday, November 3rd for 47,500 in-game credits.

Originally designed for childcare missions, weaponless yet equipped with thousands of cartoons and comics hardwired in his databanks to entertain children, Kid Ultra came online just as Magna Carta, the LLC’s governing AI suddenly went dark, providing the newly fabricated robot without executable code. The only source of actionable information in his brain was the library of entertainment intended for placating and educating youngsters. When the Battleborn found Kid Ultra ineffectually acting out his programming of a comic book “good guy” without armament, Nova and Kleese outfitted him with both an arsenal and a team at his back. Kid Ultra was finally the hero he wanted to be. He was a Battleborn.

Kid Ultra is now the apex of LLC support technology, dominating the battlefield by buffing and healing teammates while pacifying enemies with abilities including:

  • ROCKET GAUNTLET: Loaded with six quick-fire rockets that detonate on impact.
  • ROCKET VORTEXT: Fire up to three rockets in a tight spiral.
  • SUPPORT DRONE: Deploy a healing drone to follow a target ally, temporarily increasing their maximum health and healing them over time. Max 2 drones at once.
  • BOLA SNARE: Fire bolas that pass through units and slow any enemies in its path.
  • (Ultimate) TO THE RESCUE: Activate to enter hover-mode and increase mobility. Deactivate to exit hover-mode, provide a burst of health to yourself and nearly allies, and push back enemies.
  • (Passive) AURA OF JUSTICE: Participating in kills boosts nearly allies’ damage for a limited time.

LONDON (27th October 2016)Square Enix Ltd., today announced that FINAL FANTASY® XVhas gone gold. To mark this production milestone, a new CG cinematic trailer, entitled “Omen” released today. Eagle-eyed viewers will see that this dynamic new trailer also celebrates the game’s gold status in a unique way.

Omen is a conceptual CG cinematic trailer created by the world-renowned 3D animation studio DIGIC Pictures, who also worked on KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV. Noctis negotiates a rapidly shifting world, endless waves of enemies, a gradual loss of abilities and a madness that brings harm to his beloved fiancée. Inspired by the world and story of FINAL FANTASY XV, the trailer depicts a nightmarish “omen” for Noctis’ father King Regis, of a catastrophic future that must be avoided.

With FINAL FANTASY XV going gold, development now moves towards creating the Season Pass (£19.99 / €24.99) and DLC that will provide further content and ways to enjoy FINAL FANTASY XV into the year ahead.

The main focus of the Season Pass are three original episodes that take place during the events of FINAL FANTASY XV. Each episode features one of Noctis’ best friends as the playable character in an all-new adventure that offers unique play styles tailored to each friend. Episode Gladiolus is the first new character adventure to arrive and will be followed by Episode Ignis and Episode Prompto. Each episode will also be available for purchase individually.

Following the individual character episodes is Comrades; an expansion pack for FINAL FANTASY XV that offers a brand new online co-op mode for up to 4-players, allowing teams to take full control of Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto as a group. Comrades will be available for purchase separately and is included in the Season Pass.

These additional contents and episodes are managed by Haruyoshi Sawatari (Producer, Business Division 2) and overseen by FINAL FANTASY XV Director Hajime Tabata with development led by core members of the FINAL FANTASY XV team.

These tactical Wildcards modernize the theatre of war by adding surveillance drones, stealth bombers, and deployable anti-tank turrets functioning as support for either team. Global Operations is played on Desert Crossing, the largest map the game has ever introduced, which features game changing weather effects like a sandstorm that limits the player’s view range.

Wildcards:

One important new feature in the Global Operations mode released with the update 0.18 is the option to deploy Wildcards. These are special abilities that, based on their use, can have a major effect on the course of battle.

  • Recon UAV:  The Recon UAV represents a Predator drone that circles over a certain area, spotting all enemy units within its view range.
  • Airstrike: The Airstrike Wildcard consists of a B2 Spirit bomber that rains hell in a limited area on the map, selected by the player who managed to capture it.
  • Pillbox Deployment:  This Wildcard allows the players to deploy a series of 3 pillboxes, which fire anti-tank missiles into eight pre-determined positions on the map.

Burlingame, Calif. – October 27, 2016 – KOEI TECMO America today revealed pre-order bonus content and further detailed the powerful slash and smash action of the most brutal Warriors style title to date, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk, slated to launch on February 21, 2017 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, digitally on the PlayStation®Vita handheld system and on Windows PC via Steam®. A series of brand new screenshots and promotional videos released alongside today’s announcement showcase the pre-order bonus costumes and exemplify the intense battles that players can look forward to in the upcoming action title.

A lone mercenary and the series’ main protagonist, Guts wields an impressive array of powerful weapons to choose from, and each alters the pace of gameplay. For example, utilizing his massive Dragonslayer Great Sword allows for devastating attacks, and players will subsequently feel the weight of the weapon throughout battle. Similarly, players can enjoy customized playstyles tailored to the other playable characters, like Griffith’s rapid sword attacks and Schierke’s magical powers.

Utilizing a vast array of different weapon styles, players will slash and smash their way through gripping battles in Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. Attacks become more ferocious as a fight rages on, allowing players to smash monsters against walls or slash them in two with a single strike! However, during the course of his adventures Guts encounters creatures known as Apostles – giant demonic monsters that possess deadly attacks. Unlike other enemies, typical battle strategies will not work on these beasts, and players must make swift tactical decisions in order to take them down. These exciting sequences aim to perfectly capture the tense, action-packed style of Berserk.

A set of bonus downloadable content (six stylish costumes) is available to those who pre-order Berserk and the Band of the Hawk from Amazon, Best Buy, EB Games, and GameStop. These include the White Swordsman and Golden Swordsman costumes for Guts, allowing him to switch out his famous Black Swordsman costume for a fresh look, the Golden Hawk and Black Hawk costumes for Griffith, replacing his bright white outfit for darker shades, and the Pirate and Blue Stripe costumes for Schierke, switching her dark robes for a more cheerful design.
