Cities: Skylines Coming to Xbox One This Year

Award-Winning City-Builder Launches in Spring 2017

Larkspur, Calif. – Feb. 16, 2017 — Paradox Interactive and Deep Silver today announced that Cities: Skylines, the award-winning management game, will release for Xbox One, the all-in-one entertainment system by Microsoft. Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition, optimized for play on a controller by Tantalus Media, will bring the game to new audiences worldwide when it launches in spring 2017, allowing players to build and manage everything from small towns to sprawling metropolitan cities. Along with the core Cities: Skylines game, the Xbox One Edition will also include Cities: Skylines – After Dark, the game’s first expansion, which adds tourism and nightlife options to the robust feature list.

“Paradox is a company that’s proud to publish and support ‘niche’ games, and we’re happy to be able to bring those specialized experiences to console as well,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive. “Cities: Skylines has built one of the biggest and most active communities we’ve seen among Paradox’s fans, and that’s saying a lot. We can’t wait to welcome Xbox One players into that group, and I’m eager to see the towns and cities they can build.”

Cities: Skylines is a best-selling management game, available for Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs, and coming very soon to Xbox One with all of its deep gameplay and unique charm along for the ride. The Xbox One Edition includes the award-winning base game, bundled together with the popular After Dark expansion, allowing players to plan and design for their cities’ nightlife and tourist attractions.

Cities: Skylines – Xbox One Edition will feature:

  • Build the city of your dreams: Plan road networks, bus lines and parks. Bring on a smog-filled industrial revolution or create a quiet beach town ideal for tourists powered by renewable energy. Bring education, healthcare and safety to your citizens. Build it your way!
  • Multi-tiered and challenging simulation: Playing as the mayor of your city, you’ll be faced with balancing essential requirements such as education, water electricity, police, firefighting, healthcare and much more, along with your city’s economy. Citizens within your city react fluidly, keeping you on your toes with ever-evolving demands.
  • Extensive local traffic simulation: Managing traffic and the needs of your citizens to work and play will require the use of several interactive transport systems – use careful road planning alongside buses, trains, subways, and much more.
  • Districts and policies: Be more than just another city hall official! Create a car-free downtown area, assign free public transport to your waterfront, or ban pets in suburbia. Designate parts of your city as a district in order to set policy at the local level, and give different parts of town their own personalities.
  • After Dark included: Watch your city become an entirely different place at night: a day-night cycle will have your citizens seeking out places to unwind after work. Add in new policies and zones to create popular hotspots and provide enough taxis and trains to get to and from the clubs!

UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON® WILDLANDS™ OPEN BETA, COMING FEBRUARY 23-27

UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON® WILDLANDS™ OPEN BETA, COMING FEBRUARY 23-27

Gather your squad of up to 4 players and start the fight for the Wildlands

SYDNET, AUSTRALIA — February 17, 2017 — Ubisoft®has announced that the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Wildlands Open Beta will be available to all players from February 23 to 27, 2017 on current-gen consoles and PC. Players eager to get into the Ghost’s boots to tame the Wildlands will be able to pre-load the Open Beta starting this Monday, February 20.

To view the trailer click this link

Each player entering this Open Beta will get access to an exclusive mission – the “Unidad Conspiracy” mission, in which players will spark a war between the Unidad, a local corrupt militia, and the Santa Blanca cartel – by playing the full game before March 31, using the same Ubisoft account.

The Open Beta will introduce players to two provinces among the 21 of the game: Itacua, a flourishing and mountainous province and the landing province of the game, where the grip of the cartel is looser, ideal to perfect your sniping skill and get introduced to the Wildlands. Montuyoc, set in the snowy Altiplano and the second province available in this Open Beta, is much more challenging – players who have suppressed the Itacua bosses will gain XP and skills boosts allowing them to face this dangerous area, hosting Santa Blanca elite training centers, with more serenity. But players can of course confront Montuyoc right away. At their own risk.

As in the full game, all the content in the Open Beta will be playable with up to three friends on the same platform via four player co-op, or in single player. Players are free to utilize any variety of vehicles, tactical equipment and weapons to get the job done.

Set in the largest action-adventure open world ever created by Ubisoft, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands takes place in Bolivia, a few years from now, as the country has been turned by the vicious Santa Blanca drug cartel into a narco-state. Players are tasked with eliminating the cartel by any means necessary. The massive and responsive open world encourages a variety of playstyles allowing players the freedom to choose how they execute any and all missions.

The Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands PC Specs and System Requirements have also been announced today, please visit Ubiblog to get the full details.

Songbringer: Millions of World Combinations, Nanoswords, Galactic War and Hallucinogenic Cactus – Arriving Summer 2017 on PC & Consoles

Songbringer: Millions of World Combinations, Nanoswords, Galactic War and Hallucinogenic Cactus – Arriving Summer 2017 on PC & Consoles

– Spaceships. Drugs. Parties. Adventure. Swords. Songbringer debuts next week at Game Developer Conference and Playable at PAX East –
OAKLAND, Calif., – February 16, 2017 – One-man development studio Wizard Fu and publisher Double Eleven announced Songbringer, a procedurally generated action RPG set in a 13,000 B.C. Milky Way, coming to PlayStation® 4, Xbox One and Steam for PC, Mac and Linux this summer.

Introducing Roq – a shirtless carefree dude just cruising the galaxy in search of the ultimate party aboard the space-faring art party ship, Songbringer. When Roq accidentally awakens an ancient evil army, the galaxy as he knows it is thrown into war. Now it’s up to Roq and his trusty sidekick, Jib, to save the galaxy from total annihilation.

Songbringer presents a gorgeous procedurally-generated overworld with ten dungeons in 3/4 perspective. Players enter a six-letter world seed code when starting a new adventure, granting them the possibility to explore 308 million unique environment combinations – no adventure is ever the same, unless you share your code with friends: The seed codes generate the world dynamically and deterministically, so entering the same seed will always generate the same world.

A rich, immersive storyline and a fantastical sci-fi universe littered with secrets, Songbringer introduces the unique concept of hidden realms. As Roq, learn to utilize the powers of the rare cacti you will find in the world to see things that aren’t there (or are they?): doors, items and other loot that can help you on your journey.

With action-packed combat and several unique weapons to choose from, including the epic and humming nanosword, the boomerang-like top hat, the ghost sword projectile, and plenty of bombs, Songbringer allows players to go it alone in the galaxy or with a friend – local co-op allows for a second player to join you as Jib, your robot companion with a strange propensity for mustaches. Overcome crowded mobs, virus androids, gigantic bosses and solve a series of puzzles to get you back where you belong; at peace and partying the night away on the Songbringer as you sail the solar winds of the galaxy with your friends.

Songbringer will be on display at Game Developer Conference at various events and will feature hands on demos at PAX East in Boston in March.  For more information, check out songbringer.com and be sure to follow @wizard_fu on Twitter.

This ten-year-old game is celebrating its fourth anniversary

This ten-year-old game is celebrating its fourth anniversary

Four years in, Old School RuneScape’s authentic 2007 PvP gameplay is attracting more players than ever and celebrating its birthday in style.

Thursday 16th February 2017, Cambridge, UK – It’s time to party like it’s 2007 as Old School RuneScape, the revived and original vanilla MMORPG, marks its fourth anniversary with in-game celebrations, additional world servers for its increasing player base, and the announcement of its next high-profile eSports tournament.

Introduced in February 2013, Old School RuneScape takes players back in time to deliver a recreation of Jagex’s iconic MMORPG as it was 10 years ago. Since its resurrection, Old School RuneScape has continued to embrace, celebrate, and expand on its origins to provide a truly nostalgic PvP experience for its growing legions of players.

Old School RuneScape is treating itself to a birthday present with the addition of multiple new world servers. Adding more space to the game world to satisfy the expanding player numbers, the new servers will enable tens of thousands more to join with the hundreds of thousands who play the vintage MMO every day.

From today, Old School RuneScape is also hosting an in-game event that invites players to don their party hats and make merry with iconic game characters such as Party Pete and King Roald, and ultimately receive birthday-themed rewards.

For such an authentically low-fi game, Old School RuneScape continues to build a high profile presence in eSports. Premiered in 2016, Old School RuneScape’s Deadman tournaments offer the ultimate in high-risk, high-reward as players compete in an unrelenting, player-vs-player survival game mode.

Deadman Invitational 5, the first of 2017’s tournaments, is now open for registration. This hardcore competitive gaming tournament will see players fight to the death, with a 2000:1 chance of survival, in a bid to secure a $10,000 prize. Players can now register their interest in Deadman Invitational 5, which will see the final take place at ESL studio 1 in Leicester, UK, on the 25th March.

“This year is a double anniversary for Old School RuneScape; not only does the game celebrate its fourth birthday, but it’s also the 10th anniversary of the ‘snapshot’ server we used to bring Old School to life,” said Mathew Kemp, producer, Old School RuneScape.

“We certainly wouldn’t be here without the level of support and commitment from our community and, as that community is growing by the day, we’re opening 12 new servers to make room for everyone. Old School’s growing player base and its impact in the competitive sector is an impressive testament to the remarkable appeal of the game and shows it’s come a long way in the last decade. But however far Old School has come, it’ll always be rooted in 2007 for us.”
