Lock’s Quest Remaster Launches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One

I have fond memories of Lock’s Quest on the Nintendo DS. While it lacked some of the star power as Nintendo’s first party franchises, I thought it was a well put together tower defense game that put a new spin on the long running genre. It still sits on my list of recommended DS titles.

Today, THQ Nordic and Digital Continue released the remastered version of Lock’s Quest for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The user interface, art, and soundtrack have been remastered in high definition. The controls have been revamped to work with both controllers and keyboard/mouse setups. The remastered version also introduces a new progression system and the new Antonia defense battles.

Lock’s Quest drops players in between the war between the Kingdom Force and the evil Clockwork Army. Players take on the role of Lock, a young man who is dragged into the conflict after his village is invaded by the Clockwork Army. Lock now leads the defense, putting up fortifications and guiding the Kingdom Forces into battle.

Narrative Horror Perception out now on Steam and GOG.com

Feardemic and The Deep End Games announced their narrative horror Perception is out now on Steam and GOG.com. A console launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will follow in the second week of June. The game has normal price of $22.99 USD, but is on sale until June 6 for $19.99 USD.

Perception stars Cassie, a blind woman who perceives her world through echolocation. Her ability makes for a novel visual mechanic as the players can only see in short bursts as the noise of her cane reverberates through the environment and every sound creates a visual effect. Cassie is drawn to Echo Bluff after she cannot stop dreaming of the estate in New England. Here, she discovers the horror known as The Presence. Cassie is now trapped in a cat and mouse game with The Presence as she tries to discover the secret behind Echo Bluff and end her nightmares once and for all.

Illusoria Launches on Steam

Under the Bridge and Badland Games announced today that their 2D platformer Illusoria is available now on Steam. Illusoria boasts an immersive fantasy world, where the only HUD element is the dialogue boxes. The game is inspired by classic platformers from the 90s like FlashbackHeart of Darkness, and Another World.

Illusoria features 12 levels, with plenty of secrets to discover for those who wish to spend extra time to explore the world. Players will rely on a mix of parkour moves and flame magic to conquer the game.

Players take on the role of the Keeper of the Flame in Illusoria, the sworn protector of the Empress and her kingdom. After the evil Puppet Master curses all the creatures, turning them into abominations, the Keeper of the Flame is tasked with reversing the curse and save the kingdom from destruction.

Illusoria is available now on Steam. The game is normally $9.99 USD, but as part of the launch celebrations, the game is on sale for $7.99 until June 6th.
