REVISIT THE DYSTOPIAN WORLD OF NIER: AUTOMATA IN ALL-NEW DLC AVAILABLE NOW

SYDNEY, 3RD May 2017 – Fans have yet another reason to revisit the dystopian world of NieR: Automata™ with the launch of the game’s new downloadable content, titled “3C3C1D119440927”, from today. Now available for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and STEAM®, the add-on content includes three new colosseums to challenge and additional sub-quests yielding exciting rewards, including:

  • Costumes from the previous Japanese release, NieR: Replicant, including the “Revealing Outfit” for 2B, “Young Man’s Outfit” for 9S and “Destroyer Outfit” for A2
  • Records adding special music tracks to the player’s jukebox
  • New equipment and cosmetic accessories, including hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2’s hair
  • Masks with unique “on equip” effects
  • Special bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets

Players will also have the opportunity to battle Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda and PlatinumGames CEO Kenichi Sato in epic boss battles via the DLC’s new colosseum challenges.

May 3, 2017 – The year’s premiere and definitive Call of Duty competitive event, the Call of Duty World League Championship, is coming to the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, August 9 – 13. For the first time on the East Coast, CWL Champs will offer fans the chance to see the top 32 teams in the world compete for a prize pool of USD$1.5 million as part of the largest CWL season-long prize pool to date of USD$4 Million.  Top teams already are battling it out in the CWL Global Pro League to earn a shot at an automatic berth in the grand finale of the Call of Duty World League year, CWL Champs. Through week two of the Pro League, Team EnVyUs (NA), Splyce (EU), Mindfreak (APAC), Evil Geniuses (NA), FaZe Clan (NA), and Rise Nation (NA) have punched their ticket for the first 6 spots in Orlando.

“The CWL 2017 season is already shaping up to be the biggest one yet,” said Rob Kostich, EVP and general manager of Call of Duty, Activision. “The live events all over the world, including Atlanta, Dallas, Las Vegas, Paris and Sydney have been incredible, and the Global Pro League has already featured intense match ups with teams going after the big Stage 1 prize purses.  So, the CWL Champs in August becomes even more fitting as the culmination of the best that Call of Duty esports has to offer this year. We can’t wait for Orlando.”

With three weekends remaining in Stage 1 of the Global Pro League, 8 additional professional teams will descend on the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio, to continue the CWL competitions.  In addition to the USD$700,000 payout, the teams will be competing for seeding heading into the Stage 2 contests starting in June in Columbus, Ohio.  Teams in Stage 1 competition hail from North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The remaining groups and schedule for Stage 1 contests:

  • eUnited, Luminosity Gaming, Millenium, Epsilon – May 5 – 7
  • OpTic Gaming, Red Reserve, Enigma6 Group, Elevate – May 12 – 14
  • Playoffs of the top eight teams (top two in each group) – May 21 – 23

At the CWL Champs, the 32 best teams worldwide will compete in pool play, with the top half advancing into the Championship double-elimination bracket for their share of USD$1.5 million event prize pool. In addition to the Global Pro League, teams will have one last chance to qualify for the CWL Championship with regional LANs in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Nintendo & UNIQLO Releasing Tshirt Design Contest Winners on May 19

Nintendo and UNIQLO will be releasing the top 25 t-shirt designs to the world on May 19. Gamers around the world were challenged to come up with creative designs featuring Nintendo’s franchises. Over 16,000 designs from around the world was submitted, with Shigeru Miyamoto and the Nintendo team picking out their favourites.

The Grand Prix winner is Takashi Kawazoe of Japan with his simple homage to 8-bit Mario. Second place goes to Shino Yamazaki for their colourful Splatoon design. The third place finalist is the first winner from Mexico. David Ricardo Flores Gomez created a muted, but beautiful Legend of Zelda t-shirt. All winning t-shirt designs will be available online starting May 19th. Women and men’s shirts will cost $14.90. Children shirts will be available for $9.90. GOG Celebrating Star Wars Day with Massive Sale

Chet Faliszek has left Valve

According to GamesIndustry.biz, Chet Faliszek, one of the faces behind Valve has parted ways with the company after 12 years of working there.

“[It was]Nothing exciting or drama filled,” Faliszek wrote. “I worked there 12 years, shipped a bunch of great games and some amazing hardware and wanted to change things up. There’s no news on what’s next etc, I will let you know when that happens.”

For those of you not in the know, Faliszek is a strong figure in PC gaming, with his acclaimed work on Half Life episodes, two Portal games and both Left 4 Dead releases.  During the recent years of his employment, he was in charge of developer relations for Vive, the VR headset Valve produced in partnership with HTC.

Along with Eric Wolpaw and Mark Laidlaw, Faliszek was considered to be the face of Valve so his departure raised some questions (and a whole lot of assumptions) about the future and current direction of his now former company and Steam. If anything, it might spark even more assumptions considering that Faliszek is now the third prominent figure who left Valve in past 2 years (you can all relax, I’m not going for a lame HL3 joke here).

Considering the usual silence from Valve when it comes to their internal dealings, I can’t say it is safe to assume anything. However, this recent development only gives me less hope that we might see a new game from Valve anytime soon (not to be confused with Valve’s own Soon™ unit of measurement).

Lycanroc evolves from Rockruff from Lv. 25 in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, but its form is decided depending on the time of day and which game it is evolved in. This special Lycanroc is battle-ready with its No Guard Ability, which makes sure hard-hitting moves such as Stone Edge and Fire Fang never miss.

Midnight Form Lycanroc are known for provoking their opponents and inviting their attacks. When opponents fall for this tactic, Lycanroc counter with their forte: a single devastating blow that finishes them off. The stronger its opponents, the more excited for battle Lycanroc become. They don’t mind getting hurt if it means victory in battle.

This Lycanroc is distributed with the following attributes:

  • LEVEL: 50
  • TYPE: Rock
  • ABILITY: No Guard
  • MOVES: Stone Edge, Fire Fang, Sucker Punch and Swords Dance

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. today released the first trailer for their upcoming action-RPG title CODE VEIN, releasing worldwide in 2018.

The new trailer highlights the mysterious and captivating universe found in CODE VEIN along with a quick look at the game’s thrilling weapon-based combat. The trailer also teases the game’s companion gameplay mechanic. As players venture out into the world, they will be able to choose a partner companion from the various residents of Vein. Added strategy presents itself when players choose companions that complement their play style to give them a fighting chance against the vicious enemies they’ll be up against through their journey.

Fight Alongside Players Worldwide in the Upcoming Free-to-Play Version of the Demon-Hunting Action RPG, Headed to PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita

Hertfordshire, 2nd May 2017 –  KOEI TECMO Europe is excited to announce the upcoming western release of Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version, a new free-to-play version of Toukiden 2 in which players worldwide can fight alongside players of the full version of the recently-released demon-hunting action RPG. Set for a digital release on the 31st May 2017 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, free-to-play Slayers will experience the diverse, action-packed gameplay of the Toukiden series while they encounter a variety of unique and devastating Oni.

To help repel the cataclysmic forces of demons known as Oni, players of Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version are able to take on Group Missions offered at the Command Centre. There, players will visit various Ages to slay the monstrous beasts with up to four other companions from across the globe. For players of the Free Alliances Version of Toukiden 2, each mission has a Stamina Cost associated, and before venturing out into the Ages the player must ensure they have the appropriate amount of Stamina required to participate.

Stamina is a key part of Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version, as it allows players to explore and carry out missions in the surrounding areas of Maharoba Village. Each player starts with a Stamina Level of 3, and each unit of Stamina requires eight real-time hours to replenish. To dive straight back into the action without the wait, players can spend Gems purchasable at the Slayer’s Headquarters (via the PlayStation®Store). Not only can Gems recover Stamina to its maximum value, but they can also be used to increase the Stamina Level to a maximum of 8. Further upgrades are also possible to the Equipment and Material Chests which allow for an abundance of items to be stored, as well as the ability to draw Mitama Tickets. These tickets are used to obtain the souls of fallen heroes which provide new combat possibilities when applied to armour and weaponry.

Players can also get a taste of the full title’s gripping narrative in Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version by playing through the first chapter of the main campaign. Slayers who purchase the full version of Toukiden 2 are able to import their Save Data from the Free Alliances Version, allowing them to continue their adventures and experience the complete tale of the Awakening and humanity’s subsequent struggle for survival.
