Scarlet Hollow Episode 5 Brings New Horrors to Valentine’s Day Eve 2026

New trailer for the expanded award-winning gothic horror from the Slay the Princess team debuts at DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase

TORONTO – Oct. 23, 2025 – Scarlet Hollow, the award-winning gothic horror narrative developed by Black Tabby Games (Slay the Princess), returns to Appalachia with its 5th episode, launching on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026.

Watch the new trailer from DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase!

Enter the fifth episode after last chapter’s harrowing end, and cling to sanity throughout the onslaught of unpredictable scenarios rooted in the choices made in previous episodes. Experience more than 870,000 words of branching storytelling from award-winning writer and developer Tony Howard-Arias and compelling new illustrations from award-winning artist Abby Howard, the married duo behind 2023’s critically acclaimed bestseller Slay the Princess.

Superstitions are easy to dismiss, but here in the Hollow they mean something else entirely. Step but a single foot into Scarlet Hollow, North Carolina, and learn why residents never seem to leave. The town’s Scarlet Mine is mired in familial roots — yours, in particular — and the reality of the surrounding townsfolk pay dearly for it. Such a fate is better than disappearing in the woods, however. Have you seen what lurks in the darkness?

Come into town for your aunt’s funeral and help your cousin Tabitha manage the mine’s burdens her mother left behind. Unweave the town’s history, intertwined with otherworldly happenings, and learn the truth behind your arrival in the Hollow.

Choose two character-defining traits to sculpt storylines with exclusive options available to all walks of life. Wield street smarts to converse with animals and discover unique perspectives, live as a good-looking mystic open to otherworldly phenomenon, and pick other characteristics to help define possible paths forward. Use these advantages to get out of trouble, but be careful. What saves you one day may be what damns you the next.

“This is far from the end, but that doesn’t mean Scarlet Hollow is ‘unfinished’ necessarily,” says Tony Howard-Arias, co-founder of Black Tabby Games. “Each chapter has its own self-contained story, even as each of them slot into a bigger overarching narrative. For us, Scarlet Hollow has always felt like a seven-game series where you get to carry your choices forward into each new installment. And if you don’t believe me, Episode 1 is free. You can always see where it takes you.”

Scarlet Hollow – Episode 5 curses 2026 on PC via Steam on Friday, Feb. 13 as a free update. For more information on Scarlet Hollow, check out the official website, follow developer Black Tabby Games on Twitter and Tumblr, and join the official Discord and Reddit.

Folklore Hunter Tracks Down Urban Legends, Graduates from Steam Early Access Jan. 30, 2026

Prepare to hunt the Mothman in new trailer at DreadXP Indie Horror Showcase

NEW ZEALAND — Oct. 23, 2025 — Folklore Hunter, the co-op urban legend hunting survival game developed by Liquid Donkey Games, takes aim at the Mothman when it graduates from Steam Early Access on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, as revealed at DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase today with a brand new trailer.

Liquid Donkey Games has also revealed a new update available today, with full Steam Workshop support now implemented for the community to create and share their own custom content and mods. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch platforms are also in development, set to launch later in 2026.

When a father goes missing under mysterious circumstances looking for his kids, a village finds itself cursed by creatures of the night, or strange things are afoot at abandoned military biolabs, they call you. Dropped in uncharted lands with limited supplies and supernatural threats, your team has the skills to find an explanation for the unexplainable.

Track and hunt three mythic creatures in a fully-designed main campaign through a series of Story Hunts supporting single and multiplayer modes. Set up traps and cameras to capture the location of the horned Wendigo. Solve cryptic riddles and uncover hidden storylines that brought the vampiric Strigoi to a now vacant village. Find a way to communicate with the Mothman via electromagnetic radiation, but don’t linger. Whatever’s out there is tracking you, too.

Wander through wooded forests, dank caves, mysterious shrines, sealed catacombs, haunted churches, cult lairs, abandoned military outposts, and other handcrafted environments on a hunt for the world’s most fabled creatures of the night. Discover clues from bloody notes, obscurely placed skeletons, and other oddities to combine wit and intuition and outsmart otherworldly dangers.

Learn what brought each creature into this world and find a way to contain it before it takes any more lives. Take these lessons and apply them to shorter Contract Hunts to tackle randomized locations and puzzles, and earn rewards for living to unlock new gear, traps, and other helpful equipment to personalize your own hunting techniques.

“There are so many approaches to hunting these supernatural beings,” said Jayde Cohen, Founder and sole developer at Liquid Donkey Games. “Shotguns, crossbows, exploding gas cans, crucifixes — even runes with inscription tools to help survive. Pick your poison. How you use them, though? That’s a story for you to tell.”

Folklore Hunter chases after dark rustlings from the woods in Q1 2026 on PC via Steam. For more information, follow developer Liquid Donkey Games on Twitter and join everyone huddled around the fire over on Discord.

Stunning Open World Action-RPG Project TAL Revealed With Official Announcement Trailer

An epic story-driven single player experience inspired by Korean mythology, coming to PC and consoles

Seongnam, South Korea – October 23, 2025 | Publisher WEMADE MAX Co. Ltd and developer MADNGINE are thrilled to announce a brand new open world action-RPG, Project TAL, coming to PC and consoles in 2027.

Check out the Project TAL announcement trailer below:

Project TAL is a AAA single player action-RPG that reimagines Korea’s traditional Tal masks, as well as the mythology and folklore that surrounds them, into an epic and deeply immersive fantasy open world for players to explore.

The announcement trailer shows off the game’s cinematic and fast-paced combat, with players able to leap onto massive monsters to deliver powerful attacks, exploit enemy weak spots, and perform tactical counterattacks and skill combos to keep their foes at bay.

Players won’t be fighting alone, however. The trailer also highlights one of Project TAL’s core features — a distinctive companion system that dynamically responds to the player’s combat style and environment.

Each NPC companion character has unique abilities, personalities, and combat roles, ranging from defense and support to melee, ranged, and magic. Players will encounter moments of seamless cooperation in Project TAL, such as catching a falling companion mid-battle, or watching a support companion deploy a magical barrier to deflect enemy attacks.

Project TAL combines an emotionally resonant story about healing a wounded world with the exhilarating combat of a classic action RPG,” said Sohn Myun-seok, CEO of WEMADE MAX. “With MADNGINE’s technical expertise and artistic vision, we’re creating a AAA open-world title built to compete on a global stage.”

Project TAL Features:

  • Climbing action, where players can leap onto massive monsters to deliver devastating strikes
  • A weakness exploit system that allows players to target enemy weak spots and shift the flow of battle
  • Tactical counterattacks and skill combos performed alongside companions in fast-paced combat
  • Intelligent NPC companions will shift the tide of battle, dynamically responding to aid the player in combat

Project TAL is currently in development for PC and console, with a global release planned for 2027.
