ABLEGAMERS’ PLAYER PANELS INITIATIVE EMPOWERS GAMERS WITH DISABILITIES TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY ACCESSIBILITY

Disabled Gamers Can Join the AbleGamers Player Panels Team to Work Alongside Leading Game Companies To Ensure Everyone Can Play Video Games

Charles Town, WV (June 27, 2017) –  AbleGamers Foundation — the leading charity and organization wielding the power of gaming to break down the barriers of economic and social isolation for people with disabilities — is proud to announce Player Panels, a new initiative which partners AbleGamers and its community with leading publishers, AAA to indie developers and leading researchers to ensure game accessibility is at the forefront of game development.

“I am thrilled that the game industry has reached a point where the needs of gamers with disabilities are being heard and that AbleGamers can partner with those in a position to best implement change,” said Steve Spohn, AbleGamers COO. “The AbleGamers Player Panels initiative ensures that game companies and researchers have direct access to people with disabilities, and vice versa, for an on-going dialogue on improving accessibility. It’s also very exciting that all organizations involved have agreed to compensate participating panelists for their time.”

Working with the University of York, AbleGamers’ Player Panels enlists gamers with disabilities to work with video game companies and researchers directly to help lead the charge in improved accessibility technologies and game design practices. Player Panels team members will leverage their personal challenges (due to their various disabilities) faced while playing games, helping enhance and shape and the future of game accessibility based on real-world, first-hand experiences.

“For the last 12 years, AbleGamers’ in-house accessibility experts have provided game companies with critical input through our game accessibility reviews and Includification resources,” said Christopher Power, Vice President of AbleGamers and Lecturer at the University of York. “Player Panels is the natural progression of that program. All of our testers live with disabilities, which allows them to offer the game industry in-depth insight to potential solutions that may not be apparent to people who have studied, but have not experienced disability firsthand.”

AbleGamers’ Player Panels will connect disabled gamers and top organizations that share the mutual goal of making sure as many people as possible can game regardless of their disability. Player Panels team member qualifications only require a love of video games and some form of disability. Those approved will be compensated for their time and expertise. Gamers with disabilities who are interested in joining can sign up today at www.ablegamers.org/player-panels.

Serial Cleaner From Curve Digital and iFun4all to Release on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Steam this July

Serial Cleaner From Curve Digital and iFun4all to Release on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Steam this July

Pre-Order The Stealth Action Game And Receive Special Bonuses

[LONDON – June 27, 2017] Get ready to dispose of incriminating evidence and avoid police detection as indie publisher Curve Digital and developer iFun4All bring the fast-paced stealth action game, Serial Cleaner, to PlayStation 4 on July 11, as well as Xbox One and Steam (PC, Mac and Linux) on July 14. Starting today people can pre-order Serial Cleaner for $14.99 on Xbox One and receive a free copy of cyberpunk game The Swindle. Later this week PlayStation Plus subscribers can pre-order Serial Cleaner in Europe to receive a 20% discount and the game’s soundtrack, while North American PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive the same bonuses at launch.

Set in the 1970s, Serial Cleaner has players sneak around bloody crime scenes to clean up incriminating evidence by disposing of bodies, covering up bloodstains and hiding murder weapons all while avoiding the police. To succeed players must explore, experiment and make swift decisions in order to avoid police detection. Get caught and players earn a black mark on their protagonist’s career.

Serial Cleaner is the perfect game for anyone wanting to challenge themselves and their stealth skills,” said Krzysztof Zięba, designer and writer at iFun4all. “The game is tough, but fair, so players need to plan their moves accordingly and improvise on the fly in order to avoid the police.”

In Serial Cleaner players can partake in Story Mode where they will play a 20-level campaign to discover the Cleaner’s backstory and discover a crazy cast of characters, including his mother. Players can also test their skills in Challenge Mode, which has players compete in a bevy of nail-bitingly hard modes such as Drunk Mode and a mode where they won’t be able to see an enemy’s vision cones.

Players must also be wary of their environment as the game uses real-world data to modify levels accordingly with the current time of day in a player’s whereabouts. Noise detection and “sneakability” will vary between night and day, and mean the difference between freedom and jail.

Serial Cleaner is currently available as a prototype in Steam Early Access and at launch will have hours of additional content, including new levels, game modes and much more. For more information on Serial Cleaner, please visit the game’s website, or Curve Digital’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
