NINTENDO SHARES NEW DETAILS ABOUT ITS NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE SERVICE COMING IN SEPTEMBER

New details shared including NES games with online play and Save Data Cloud backup, launching alongside new paid service in September

8th May, 2018 – Nintendo’s upcoming Nintendo Switch Online membership service is an affordable, multi-featured paid service that lets users enjoy online play for compatible Nintendo Switch games, access a growing library of classic NES games with added online functionality, back up save data for most games, and additional features for the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app that will enhance the online experience for compatible games.

Nintendo revealed more information about Nintendo Switch Online, including pricing, Save Data Cloud backup, and additional details about the classic NES games members will be able to play when it launches in September.

Australian and New Zealand pricing: Various price points offer a variety of affordable options for different players.

  • Individual memberships:
    • One month (30 days): AU$5.95 / NZ$6.55
    • Three months (90 days): AU$11.95 / NZ$13.15
    • 12 months (365 days): AU$29.95 / NZ$32.95
  • Family membership (12 months/365 days): AU$54.95 / NZ$60.45

With a family membership, up to eight Nintendo Account holders will be able to utilise the Nintendo Switch Online service, even on different consoles.

Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online: Members will have access to Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online, a compilation of classic NES games. The collection will initially include 20 games, and more will be added on a regular basis. At launch, previously announced games Balloon Fight, Dr. Mario and Super Mario Bros. 3 will be joined by Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., Soccer, Super Mario Bros., Tennis and 10 others that will be announced in the future. And for the first time ever, players will be able to enjoy these games online. Depending on the game, players can engage in online competitive or co-op multiplayer, or take turns controlling the action. Friends can even watch each other play single-player games online, and “pass the controller” at any time. Every classic NES game will support voice chat via the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app. It will also be possible to play these games offline.

Save Data Cloud: By using Nintendo Switch Online, a backup of Nintendo Switch save data for most Nintendo Switch games will be stored online for easy access. This is great for people who want to retrieve their data if they lose, break or purchase an additional Nintendo Switch console.

Online Play: A Nintendo Switch Online membership will be needed to participate in co-op and competitive online features for many current and upcoming Nintendo Switch games, such as Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Mario Tennis Aces and Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido.

Nintendo Switch Online App: The Nintendo Switch Online smartphone application can be used to enhance the online experience for compatible games through voice chat and other features.

Pre-Registration Opens Today for Netmarble’s Immersive New Turn-Based RPG

Knights Chronicle offers a rigid turn-based RPG on mobile devices, immersive Japanese animation-like battle scenes and a compelling story all at the same time. FIFA to hold eClub World Cup at AMP Studios Paris

FIFA will hold this year’s eClub World Cup at AMP Studios, Paris, France from 19-20 May.The competition is an inter-club electronic football tournament, with 16 professional eSports teams competing, and is part of EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series on the Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup, virtual football’s equivalent of the FIFA World Cup.

In order to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup, players must first compete in the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series, which the FIFA eClub World Cup is part of. Participants in the eClub competition came from eSports teams around the world, and took part in online qualifications to secure their places in Paris. A total of 32 players will compete at the AMP Studios.

eSports teams participating in the FIFA eClub World Cup not only compete for a total prize pool of US$50,000, but also for four qualification spots in the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs. At the playoffs, 64 players on Xbox One and 64 players on PlayStation 4 will fight for their places at the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 Grand Final.

The two-day FIFA eClub World Cup event will offer content production opportunities with club players and officials to all media outlets present. In addition, video and photo footage will be made available after the competition for editorial use.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR Event Scenes Highlighted in Latest Screenshots

With Megadimension Neptunia VIIR set to be released this week by Idea Factory International the company has decided to release a set of new screenshots focusing on the game’s humor during the numerous event scenes found throughout the game. This includes Uzume proclaiming her love of robots, some very muscular Dogoo, and much more. You can check out the screenshots below and keep an eye out for the game when it is released on the PlayStation 4 on May 8th in North America and May 11th in Europe.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR features a brand new engine giving players a smoother and richer graphical experience while this version will also feature the ability to interact with the Goddesses in VR (or without it if you don’t have a headset) in the player’s room. Megadimension Neptunia VIIR will also have a newly renovated battle system that allows players to set attack combos mid-battle and introduce new types of strategy and resource management.

Punch Line Game Announced for Western Release

PQube has announced that they are planning on releasing the visual novel adventure game, Punch Line in the West sometime this summer for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PC. Some of you may recognize this title as it was given an anime adaptation/advertisement back when it was originally released in Japan. PQube describes Punch Line as a game where players will take control of Yuuta Iridatsu, a high school kid that happens to get so excited when he sees a girl’s underwear that he faints.

Unfortunately one day he finds himself in the middle of a bus hijacking where famed vigilante crime fighter Strange Juice, and something unexpected happens to Yuuta – his soul separates from his body. Stuck in a ghostly incorporeal form, he finds that his penchant for panties has disastrous consequences.

While a ghost form lends itself to panty sightings galore, allowing Yuuta to wander unseen, looking up skirts and causing shenanigans, there’s a terrible catch: if he sees too many panties, Yuuta gets too excited, faints, and somehow causes an asteroid to hit the Earth and destroy all life on the planet. Able to travel back in time to before the destruction of the Earth, Yuuta’s task is clear – solve this mystery.

Death Road to Canada Releasing on Consoles on May 8th

A few weeks ago due to the tragic event that occurred in Toronto, Canada the developers of Death Road To Canada, UKIYO announced that they were delaying the game‘s console release from April 25th to an undetermined date.

Those who were looking forward to the game don’t have to wait much longer though as the publisher has now announced that Death Road To Canada will be released on May 8th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at a price point of $14.99 / €14.99 / £11.99 though there will be a 20% discount on the game for two weeks after release.

Disgaea 5 Complete for PC Delayed until Summer

Originally meant to be released tomorrow on May 7th NIS America has announced that they have delayed the PC release of Disgaea 5 Complete to sometime this summer. This news comes after the release of a demo and beta test of the game over the past week that revealed various bugs and issues that the team immediately began working on.

According to NIS America the company discovered “a new issue that requires additional attention that will take more time to resolve. Unfortunately, until this issue can be resolved, the release date will be postponed, and we are now targeting a release for summer 2018.” As such all demo keys have been disabled, though new keys will be released when they determine a new release date, and if you happened to pre-order the game NIS America is offering a refund option here if you do not wish to wait until whenever the game is fully released.

Soulcalibur VI Brings Taki Back to the Roster

After taking a short break on the bench for the previous game, Bandai Namco has announced that the iconic ninja Taki will be returning to the fray on Soulcalibur VI. Wielding her dual blades, Taki can take on all challengers in battle and has a deep sense of duty to complete an assigned mission, this making her an even more focused weapon. With her blades fused with a piece of the Cursed Sword, her weapons glow with a mysterious power despite the true whereabouts of the Soul Edge still unknown.

A new trailer showing off Taki’s combat style can be found below alongside some new screenshots. Currently Soulcalibur VI is set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year.

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk’s Main Characters Detailed

NIS America has recently released some new details for the three characters that will take central focus in their upcoming RPG Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. This includes the black haired witch called the Dusk Witch Dronya who serves the Haltz Kingdom as a royal court witch, and is called the Dusk Witch due to her brilliant red-and-blue eyes. She has come to Refrain for the sole purpose of exploring the labyrinth beneath the town, though her true motive for doing so remains a mystery.

The other main character is Luca, Dronya’s young apprentice and traveling companion. She is a young child that can be easily moved to tears and laughter and despite her young age, Luca can perform a variety of household tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and doing laundry. She also personally handcrafts each puppet soldier that Dronya sends down into the labyrinth.

Finally we have a legendary cursed book that will contain the player’s soul. Simply called Tractie by Luca, but otherwise known as the Tractatus de Monstrum, the book will lead Dronya’s puppet soldiers into the labyrinth to uncover the secrets within.

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk is currently set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC sometime this fall.

State of Decay 2 Launch Trailer and Screenshots Released

With State of Decay 2 set to be released later this month Microsoft and Undead Labs have released some gameplay footage showing off what to expect from the upgraded sequel to the popular zombie survival game. This includes allowing players to survive the undead in co-op gameplay and make use of numerous new abilities to survive against the undead.
