Crytek Releases Performance Update 2.4 for Hunt: Showdown

Crytek Releases Performance Update 2.4 for Hunt: Showdown

FRANKFURT, Germany Sept. 13, 2018 – Performance in Hunt: Showdown gets a big boost this month with the release of Update 2.4, which focuses on performance-related additions and changes to the multiplayer FPS bounty hunting game from Crytek. Additionally, the new solo mode, which proved to be highly popular during the game’s recent Solo Event, is here to stay.

Performance upgrades in 2.4 are manifold, and in a new video interview Level Design Director Chris Auty and Technical Director Sebastien Laurent discuss the performance updates in 2.4 in detail, while Senior Game Designer Andreas Liebeskind and Junior Technical Designer Bence Kovacs weigh in on the new weapons, content updates, and game fixes.

Changes to the game’s graphics settings offer one of the biggest potential improvements to performance, as rendering has been split out into different quality settings, allowing players to make choices about things like shadow quality or particle quality fitting to their specific machine. Players with limited GPU performance should see the biggest benefits from this change. Resolution scaling is another big feature now available with 2.4. Originally introduced in Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome, resolution scaling decouples display resolution with rendering resolution, significantly improving performance on the GPU level. CPU optimizations were also made on the game code side, and this should result in significantly less stalling. Level loading times should also improve.

Three new weapons are also packed into Update 2.4. The new Nagant Officer M1895 Carbine pistol has a long barrel and a stock, which means it behaves more like a rifle than a pistol. The new Specter 1882 Compact Shotgun has a sawn-off barrel, foregrip, and wider spread (if shorter range). The Crossbow Shotbolt mixes the characteristics of a shotgun with those of a crossbow, utilizing bolts tipped with shotgun shells that detonate on impact, setting off a cone of shotgun pellets.

About Hunt: Showdown

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, from the makers of Crysis. Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. Hunt’s competitive, match-based gameplay mixes PvP and PvE elements to create a uniquely tense experience. Each match pits up to ten players—playing solo or in teams of two—against each other as they fight for bounty by taking out gruesome monsters in the swamps of Louisiana. Once they’ve found and defeated one of these they will receive a bounty—and instantly become a target for every other Hunter left on the map. The higher the risk, the higher the reward–but a single mistake could cost everything. Hunt is available now on Steam. For more information, visit https://www.huntshowdown.com/.

SENRAN KAGURA series makes its Nintendo Switch debut with SENRAN KAGURA Reflexions today!

Marvelous Europe launches touching, narrative-focused entry in genre-spanning series…

Tunbridge Wells, UK — 13th September, 2018 — Publisher of all things weird and wonderfully Japanese, Marvelous Europe today launches SENRAN KAGURA Reflexions on Nintendo Switch complete with French language localisation.

The unique properties of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers will let fans get closer than ever to some of the shinobi girls of SENRAN KAGURA, starting with Asuka of the Hanzō National Academy. Get ‘hands on’ and help massage away her stress by employing the art of reflexology, deepening the relationship formed with her while progressing through a narrative experience with multiple endings. Pay close attention to Asuka’s feedback from the HD rumble technology in the Joy-Con controllers, as the better players react to her signals, the closer they will become to her.

Fan-favourite characters from the SENRAN KAGURA series will also be available as DLC content – Yumi will be available at launch, followed by Murasaki, Ryōna and Yomi in the weeks following launch.

After brutal melees, rhythmic cooking contests and shockingly serious water gun fights, the SENRAN KAGURA series is ready to take on the world of interactive storytelling for the first time and give players a chance to get to know the shinobi heroine Asuka in surprising new ways. SENRAN KAGURA Reflexions uses the unique properties of the Joy-Con to employ the art of reflexology and massage. Melt away Asuka’s worries and stresses by hand or through a variety of useful tools, and explore deeper relationships than have ever been possible in the series before.

The Nintendo Switch system’s advanced HD rumble technology provides a more realistic sense of interaction and feeling with Asuka than ever before, helping guide players to react to her signals and give her some much-needed relaxation. Interacting with her in different ways will lead players across branching paths toward one of seven different situations and six unique endings – and that’s just for Asuka.

Developed by Honey Parade Games, SENRAN KAGURA Reflexions will launch on 13th September 2018 in Europe from Marvelous Games, and on the same day in North America from XSEED Games. The game has been rated PEGI 16 in Europe, USK 18 in Germany, MA15+ in Australia and M for Mature in North America.

IRON THRONE INTRODUCES NEW LARGE-SCALE BATTLE FEATURES INCLUDING BLOOD MOON WAR AND CONTINENTAL DOMINATION

Two new battle features offer massive online play across all Iron Throne kingdoms

LOS ANGELES, California (September 12, 2018)Netmarble Corporation, the fastest-growing mobile game company worldwide, today released two new game features for Iron Throne, its latest MMO strategy game on mobile devices: Blood Moon War and Continental Domination.

At the heart of this update is the Blood Moon War (Kingdom vs Kingdom). Lords of participating kingdoms will leave their own territory and engage in a week-long ‘Blood Moon’ battle. Each kingdom competes for points during the first three days through monster hunts, PvP, plundering resources and attacking strongholds. The kingdom with the highest score during the first three days of the Blood Moon will receive powerful buff effects during the remaining four days.

The Blood Moon War occurs every four weeks and users can participate at any time using the Blood Moon Teleport during that time period.

The update also includes a new battle feature called Continental Domination, a large-scale war where lords of all kingdoms compete to dominate the 48 cities. The top 24 alliances of Iron Throne will each become a separate empire and take on the role of an alliance leader in order to wage war against other empires.

Continental Domination opens for four hours a day over the course of three days, and the empire that occupies the most cities at the end of each day wins. The winner receives an enormous amount of gold, and all participating alliances and lords win a variety of rewards. This content was created to deliver an exciting battle experience, and users can enjoy the fun of battle without losing actual troops or resources.

This update also adds a third season of Town Mode, two new heroes and new monsters. Also, new content such as “war coins” which are a new in-game currency that can be acquired through the battle modes and rune enhancement have been added.

“We focused on providing a more fun battle experience to Iron Throne players with this update,” said Seungwon Lee, Chief Global Officer of Netmarble. “Through large-scale battle features differentiated from the existing ones, I believe our gamers will find the true pleasure of strategy gaming.”

Iron Throne is now available for iOS and Android platforms via Apple App Store and Google Play.
