NEW YORK Feb. 7, 2019 – 2K has released the latest free DLC update for NBA 2K Playgrounds 2, the all-star two-on-two arcade basketball game from developer Saber Interactive for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and Windows PC.

Available today on all platforms, this new DLC adds the 2019 NBA All-Star playground in Charlotte and a special Valentine’s Day playground. With a host of new cosmetic outfit items themed around both playgrounds and dozens of new players to unlock, there’s plenty of new content for gamers to enjoy!

Today’s update also introduces exciting new daily challenges with in-game rewards, including a new item that can level up characters to Diamond, plus the opportunity to compete globally and win the Prestige Ring in the brand-new unranked Championship Mode. There’s a number of new stability fixes and improvements based on community feedback, as well, including the ability to now see relevant player challenges in the pause menu.

Feb. 7, 2019 (LOS ANGELES, Calif.) – Skybound Games and Beamdog today announced a publishing partnership that will bring classic roleplaying videogames Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate ll, Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and Neverwinter Nights to console platforms in 2019.

Beamdog is known for bringing enhanced versions of Dungeons & Dragons videogames to fans both new and old on the PC platform, including the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Planescape: Torment. Six of Beamdog’s fan-favorite games will be released on console platforms for the first time ever via Skybound, all as Enhanced Editions sold at retail stores and online (www.Skybound.com). These upcoming releases will allow RPG fans the opportunity to experience epic Dungeons & Dragons adventures in a whole new way.

A selection of Beamdog’s games will be on display in the Skybound Games booth at PAX East in Boston from March 28-31, all coinciding with the first anniversary of Skybound Games as the video game publishing arm of Skybound Entertainment.

Use The Power of Alchemy to Uncover An Ancient Text and Discover the Hidden Truth of Arland

Hertfordshire, 7th February 2019 – KOEI TECMO Europe today revealed that the latest entry in GUST Studio’s cherished Atelier franchise, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, will release for the Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC via Steam® on the 24th May 2019 across Europe. Atelier Lulua continues the story of the fan-favourite Arland trilogy, set several years after the 2012 release of Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland invites players to assume the role of Elmerulia “Lulua” Fryxel, a young aspiring alchemist training under former student turned mentor, Piana. Lulua studies diligently to fulfil her dream of becoming a great alchemist just like her mother, Rorolina Frixell; but during her training Lulua discovers a mysterious Codex, awakening an ancient power within her that enables Lulua to decrypt but a single page – with many more riddles for her to unravel. Players will be tasked with performing actions focused around the core Atelier series gameplay – Gathering, Battle, and Synthesis – to allow them to decipher more of the text, as well as learn exciting new types of alchemy.

Lulua sets off to Arland in the hopes that she can improve her powers and uncover the riddles of the Codex. When arriving, she learns that her mother’s atelier shop has been forced to close. Relying on the help of the Codex, Lulua works hard to save the shop before it’s too late. The first steps into her new adventure are filled with excitement, but little does Lulua know that Arland is home to many mysteries yet to be awoken.

On their journey, players will meet a compelling cast of companions, with some familiar faces joining the line-up, including: the most renowned alchemist and mother of Lulua, Rorolina Frixell; the ex-apprentice of Rorona and influential alchemist, Totooria Helmold; keen adventurer and private guardian of Totori, Mimi Houllier Von Schwarzlang; and former knight turned chief of the ‘Guardian Force’, Sterkenburg Cranach.

New Live Action Trailer Released for Far Cry New Dawn

Ubisoft released a brand new trailer for their upcoming FPS Far Cry New Dawn today. The trailer is a bit of a departure from the usual gameplay trailer. Instead, Ubisoft have created a live action short film featuring Mickey and Lou, who decide to shoot up a bar after a patron fails to treat the twins with some basic courtesy. Little does the unsuspecting patron know, Mickey and Lou lead the ruthless Highwaymen, a band of scavengers who are terrorizing the countryside. The explosive trailer is directed by Xavier Gens (The Divide) and is set to a remake of It’s Raining Men.

Far Cry New Dawn is set 17 years after a nuclear apocalypse levels Hope County, Montana. Threatened by the Highwaymen, the survivors from Hope County make a temporary alliance with the survivors from the Project at Eden’s Gate. While the bad blood between the two groups still run deep, they will need to work together if they plan on surviving the Highwaymen’s brutal regime.

Far Cry New Dawn is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 15.

New Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer Announces Kabal as a Playable Character

A new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 has been released by Warner Bros and Netherrealms Studios. The new trailer features brand new gameplay of Kabal, the occasionally good, occasionally evil master of the hook sword. Now a Revenant, Kabal serves the Netherrealm and is on a quest to ensure the Netherrealm’s place of power.

The new gameplay trailer is a little light on story, but shows Kabal using his signature hook swords, a scythe, and his lightning quick speed to decimate his opponents.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to launch on April 23rd on Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. An exclusive beta for those who pre-order the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions of the game starts on March 28th.

New What Men Want Clip Released ahead of Valentine’s Day Launch

Paramount Pictures released a brand new clip of the upcoming romantic comedy What Men Want. The clip stars Taraji P. Henson as Ali Davis and Aldis Hodge as Davis’ love interest. Davis and her boyfriend wake up to his son wearing Davis’ lingerie as he quotes Black Panther.

What Men Want follows Ali Davis, a sports agent who has woken up with the power to read men’s minds. Her powers become a boon, allowing her to out-hustle her male colleagues as she looks to sign an up and coming basketball superstar to a deal. Her abilities come at a price though, as her drive at work begins to interfere with her relationships with her friends and her new lover.

What Men Want is scheduled to release in cinemas on Valentine’s Day (February 14).

Free to Play Battle Royale Apex Legends Launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

EA and Respawn Entertainment announced their new free to play battle royale Apex Legends has launched on PC via Origin, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is set in the Titanfall universe. Unfortunately, this one does not involve calling down massive titans from the sky.

Respawn is looking to put a new twist to the battle royale genre. Players will group up as a squad and choose one of eight legends, each with their own unique abilities like shields. Instead of the traditional parachute mechanic, each team will be able to choose their spawn point when they enter the map. Additionally, players will be able to put down respawn beacons to revive dead teammates. Each beacon can be used once, so they will be a valuable commodity.

Apex Legends will be monetized using the genre standard season system. Thos who purchase a Battle Pass will get cosmetics exclusive to that season. New seasons will also bring free content for everyone. The first season is set to start in March.
